Very nice old style recent bottling, honey leather stone fruits camomille white tea.

H2H with GR 1968 2005 release. More rounded and balanced than the 2005 release, amazingly it's all about bright emotions and lush fields of golden peonies.

Pretty much hits my nerve - delicious - especially - retro style, certainly not everyone likes it - it is very complex in a rather limited, special area. For me the finest 70 / 80s style with probably 25yo ++ refill sherry, bourbon or a vatting of both Reminds me of the Bunna 1987 from the Maltman WID: 79349, this Imperial 1995 WID: 66592 and the Glen Ord 25 SR 1978/2004 - but also I have to think of a Craigellachie or Aultmore. I would appreciate a subtle resolution (possibly a small lead) - today - after 1cl it gets 93.92.91 for N, T, F - I would probably buy it directly, depending on the price - but I don't buy anything anymore: smile: Thank you very much for the great dram WB70

Absolutely my direction, is one of those wow malts for me, just because he is not overpowered, but on the contrary, the perfect integration of alcohol. Liquid Garden Eden.

Excellent whisky. Fruity, herbal, spicy, old style.

Here, even without me, everything was beautifully described and laid out note by note, I will only say that this is truly a superbly assembled malt.

Fantastic silence, depth and impressive diversity in all components, complexity, perfect balance, a sense of age and at the same time freshness, some kind of non-rooted ruffiness; there are not enough words to describe the grandeur of this, so I'll go to the figures.

After trying a sample, I quickly went out and got a bottle... and convinced two of my other friends to get the same bottle. Just wanted to spread the joy around, and just in case I finish my bottle, I can just go over to their place and enjoy theirs. Very complex and enjoyable, from the nose to the finish. I'm usually slightly doubtful regarding these high scores on whiskybase for expensive official bottlings from extinct distilleries because I think sometimes these scores are inflated, but the score for this one is right on.

A fantastic, old whisky; I've never experienced this kind of fruity bouquet in any other whisky. The oak in the finish is not only a novelty but also a highlight – not the usual spicy and bitter, but rather leaning towards light wood, which stylishly rounds off a beautifully long finish. - 21.02.2026

A rich and well balanced dram, vintage style! In the hours I enjoyed this Glenury it rose from 90 to 92 points in my perception, a great experience!

This is an excellent Glenury.

scbp-5541, the whole has the temperament of an excellent bourbon blending work, but it is slightly tied, and the taste is too heavy.

The aroma is relatively calm, but it feels very young and energetic after entering the mouth.

Stunningly complex nose that needed a couple of drops of water to reveal its full glory. Very fruity (poached pears, strawberries and ripe apples) with rich oak, fresh barley, honey fudge and vanilla supporting things beautifully. Lovely, dark delivery on the palate, with caramelised sugars again supporting the fruity and woody notes. A creamy transition then leads on to a remarkably poised finish, with the fresh barley coming back to the fore. A really great dram.

Herbs, vanilla ice cream, floating honeydew melon, the wine is on the dry side, tastes buttery and nutty, and has some woody notes at the end.

A perfect balance of warmth and sweetness.

Very comfortable peat, sweet, and long aftertaste, perhaps this is the charm of old things.

Older, old-fashioned, thinking about the tastes of those old men in Hong Kong and Taiwan, it's not surprising that they want to tout Shirley's big M and Bourbon's Uni in the last century.

A great malt. Even with the second dram: no boredom. The aroma is always fresh and new. A companion for an entire evening - a rarity.

My lord. A profile like this can just never be found ever again. It's lost forever. That's the first thing I think of when I sip this whisky. Motor-oil, black liquorice, ferns on the forest floor, a bakery at 5am, and just an unforgiving wall of power and grace. No off note. A full belief in itself. Total conviction. I slowly add water to this dram and every time I do, it gets louder, more powerful, more confident. I never want it to end.

It’s a bit like bourbon Clynelish, beeswax, and a little bit Irish milky, and the mouth is also very similar to bourbon Clynelish, what’s going on (laughs)

The aroma is an intriguing blend of pepper and vanilla with a hint of peat. Red fruits, tobacco, peach and orange add fruity richness and complexity to the profile.

Fresh! But with markers of venerable age as well. Leather polish, green bell pepper and aromatic wood varnish are the dominant aromas to start. I can tell the complexity is there, it will just need some time in the glass. With time, it blossoms into a beautiful old style Highland malt. Its a rounded and melded flavour that requires some attention which rewards you with aromas of Camphor, light industrial notes of coal dust, diving suit rubber, fresh pine, tobacco and toasted cinnamon that are accompanied with warmer fruit notes of peach, apple compote, rock melon, nut mix, a few grains of table salt, bee pollen, Japanese green tea and a lightly waxy texture. Something lightly floral is in the mix as well. Lychee and jasmine syrup? The palate is rich, lightly spicy and waxy but is also noticeably more syrupy and fruit dominated. Peach takes the lead together with rock melon and the tertiary notes support everything wonderfully, studding it with a myriad of little complexities to discover. It also retains this minty and mentholated wood varnish note throughout and reminds you of its age without getting heavy handed or triggering any feeling of tiredness. Its age has just melded everything together, with time adding complexity and rounding off any rough edges. Water reduces the complexity but results in a more fruit forward whisky, with brighter and sweeter flavours. It reminds me of the 1970 Rare malts bottling I had awhile back but after it was aired out for 2 over years. The whisky sits in the category of one that is complex but nothing screams out at you to grab your attention. Perhaps this is not a mindless whisky that you can quaff while blazing through a line up of whiskies and chatting with some mates but one that is better suited for a session where you have the time and attention. If not you might just miss its magic.

There is something unorthodox about this whisky. It is not similar to any else distillery. Nose - Peat, fruits, mint and medicine? - with something. Taste - sherrry, peat, fruits - with something. Finish - bitter ? woody--lemonish ? But once again, with something special.

Wow, what a whisky. It´s very strange at the first moment. But give him a second chance and you will love this stuff.
