Not a bad dram, but there's slightly too much of a strange finish for me - masks the DNA of the distillery.

Quite a pleasant nose, although I get a hint of bovril or marmite - a yeast/broth note. |

Like trying to nail jelly to a wall, a taste profile is hard to pin down - one minute it's quite bitter, then earthy, then almost like a cough syrup - like an STR finish. |

Quite an odd finish - like an STR again. |
I was not sure what it actually smells like. I compare again with the port, which now seems much better than before. But the esteemed 51 smells like alcohol only. And he also tastes that way, after alcohol and nothing else ...
Golden color. Oily whisky.

Better than I thought. The wine influence is clearly noticeable. 51-60 – Drinkable, but really not mine

Color gold - good aromatic Slyrs - significantly better than the standard - for about 50 to 60€ quite high, is it worth it? => compared to Scottish whisky probably NO => compared to the normal standard of Slyrs (approx. 15€ surcharge) it is definitely worth it

The many types of sweet wine just don't work together. Add to that this indescribable fruit flavor...

Slyrs is one of the renowned German whisky distilleries that has already gained some experience in this relatively young division. The distillery at Schliersee is worth a visit, in the tasting room you can try one or the other whisky with a magnificent view of the Wendelstein. One of the distillery's problems might be the fresh oak barrels used. Maybe that's better here, because whiskys were married that - in addition to the usual, i.e. fresh casks - previously contained sherry, port and sauternes. There is no age statement. www.glen-efze.de

I'd rather stop drinking whisky if this was the only whisky left on earth. Like almost every Slyrs, this one is extraordernary disgusting
Smell and taste differ enormously! You expect something completely different from the smell than what you get on the palate and on the tongue. Added water exclusively for the nose experience! On the palate and on the finish, water only makes the whisky flat and unspectacular.

Fu......ing Slyrs! I try again and again, but there is simply nothing to get here for malt whisky lovers. The best Slyrs is still the one that has been drawn through several barrels and tastes as little as possible of the character of Slyrs!!!
Color - barrique-aged fruit wine, strong streaks on the edge of the glass; Nose - plum brandy from the barrel, sweet already in the glass; Taste - strong, barrel-aged fruit schnapps (plum or mirabelle plum), behind it is a newly renovated apartment with oiled wooden floor, tastes more like a very tasty fruit schnapps and not like a whisky; Finish - long and warm, a good fruity wine
Second SLYRS drank at the distillery. Worth a try.

Similar to the traditional profile, more intense, with more red/brown notes (this is to be expected given the type of cask in which it matured). A final note of chocolate. |

Paradoxically, less pungent than traditional distillates despite the higher alcohol content, a touch drier. Better and more complex overall, with an unexpected hint of smoke. Medium spice. Good quality distillate. |

Spicy, but very deep and full-bodied, tastes almost like rum
Smell: raisins and other dried fruits, the alcohol pushes forward, sweet malt, subtle oatmeal, a bit of straw, lime, light herbal notes and oak. Taste: The dried fruits are also present again in the mouth. Intense peppery start, then the grain notes come through again. Citrus fruits, some caramel, nuts and milk chocolate. Finish: Medium length, nuts and spicy oak. Conclusion: The whisky shows good beginnings with nice fruit aromas, but it seems a bit unbalanced for my taste, the grain notes are too strong for me and the alcohol is impetuous.

Sweet, fruity, and complex – like a plate of apricot, honey, raisin, and red berries, overlaid with vanilla and warm oak. The three wine casks contribute richness, but also a slight confusion: sherry brings nuttiness and dark fruit, port red berries, and Sauternes honey and bright sweetness. Overall aromatic, but somewhat loud. |

Sweet, spicy, fruity, and robust – like a thick thread of honey trickling over apricot, grape, red berries, and a hint of peach. Add to that vanilla, caramel, spices, and a warm, slightly dry oak structure. The variety of casks contributes to the breadth of flavor, but the balance feels somewhat unsteady, with a touch of alcoholic sharpness. |

Medium-long, fruity and woody, and slightly dry. Honey, grape skin, red berries, and a subtle hint of spice linger – like the final notes of a sweet dessert wine that vanishes a little too quickly. |
The malt is very reminiscent of a fruit schnapps, which - at least in the nose - doesn't really bother me here. The fruity aromas on the nose are really nice. On the tongue, the alcohol is unfortunately too dominant for me, a few more years would have removed this flaw.
Tastes and especially smells like funny frisch chips 'ungarisch' with some mint chewing gum. I'm not a fan.
Alcohol. Youth, intensity, aggressiveness. This can be explained by the strength of the distillate. Luckily I have a sample, not the whole bottle. If it had been left in the barrel for a few more years, the alcohol would have softened and more pleasant notes would have come to the fore. Ah yes, unfortunately...

Alcohol comes first. Then fruits appear: sour apples, cherries. Some unripe berries. Quince. Caramel. Pepper. In general, the smell reminds me of flavored vodka, only with a much stronger note of alcohol. |

Alcohol. It stings the throat. You can feel the sweetness of fruit, varnish, but alcohol interferes with the enjoyment. |
This whisky was a real challenge for me. It is not easy to decipher and takes a lot of time. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not so well integrated and it could have matured a little longer.
Pours medium dark gold. Scent is full, strong wood and herbal, vanilla. Taste is strong, noticably strong alcohol. Medium sweet, oak, some vanilla and a touch of charred barrel profile.
