В аромате преобладают красные и тёмные фрукты — вишня, малина, клубника, черника, ежевика — вместе с карамелью, мёдом, ванилью, марципаном и лёгкой цветочной свежестью; винная бочка даёт узнаваемый оттенок, местами с травянистой кислинкой недозрелой ягоды. Во вкусе умеренная сладость переходит в тёмные фрукты, клюкву и яблоко с намёком на яблочный пирог, дополняется шоколадом, нугой, щепоткой корицы и белого перца; послевкусие средней длины, с горчинкой и вяжущей дубовой танинностью, у части дегустаторов кисловатое и короткое. Хвалят прежде всего соотношение цены и качества и удивительную выразительность для виски без указания возраста на 40% — по мнению некоторых, вслепую он обошёл бы иные выдержанные десяти- и двенадцатилетние. Критикуют водянистость, нехватку крепости, простоту и «одноразовость», а также перечную танинность, забивающую другие оттенки. Опытные ревьюеры (79–83) и остальные оценивают напиток согласованно: разброс невелик, откровенно низких оценок нет, общий вердикт — крепкий бюджетный вариант без претензии на обязательное приобретение.

1128-TAMNAVULIN SPANISH GRENACHE CASK EDITION SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 40%. ...if only there were more of these percentages... What we get here is a drinkable, rather simple whisky—not really standing out much from other bottles of this type. Another box ticked off, although I was curious about the "Spanish Grenache Cask Edition" note on the label. The bottle isn't bad, though it's a "one-off."

Нос 83 Mild Apple Flowery Lightly berry-flavored Strawberry/Raspberries Somewhat bitter I tried the Double Cask before. The structure is pretty much the same. This one has a hint of red berries and is somewhat understated, otherwise the same.
Вкус 83 Very mild Then come the berries, directly followed by apple peel. Herbaceous / Bitter Slightly tart, unripe raspberry on the finish The barrel flavor becomes more pronounced.
Финиш 81 Short Sour aftertaste Chocolate, but the apple flavor becomes stronger and slightly bitter/tart (barrel).

In my opinion, Tamnavulin has managed to produce strong-tasting whiskys even with 40% alcohol, and this is also the case here, a clear recommendation for the price
Нос 82 Malt, strawberry, vanilla, slightly fruity and sour, but not unpleasant, somewhat grassy and fresh
Вкус 85 Quite malty, but still fruity and sweet, like strawberries, a little too little alcohol, which could have been integrated even better
Финиш 84 Like the taste, but the acidity takes a back seat, becoming warm and nutty, the wine comes through a bit, medium-long, pleasant finish, unfortunately a bit weak

In the aroma, there's a hint of underripe strawberries with creamy undertones, a sprinkling of dried fruits like apricots and raisins, and a touch of caramel. The taste is sweet and caramelly, with a subtle blueberry tartness and notes reminiscent of apple pie. The finish is slightly prickly, featuring the astringency of wood, presenting a straightforward yet comforting warmth. Considering the price point of this release, it stands as an impressive NAS (No Age Statement) whisky that, in a blind tasting, could easily outshine some well-aged twelves and tens. RATING: 83pts – |83 – 86 (B) → Good| — Not a “must”, but a nice-to-have.

Drinkability, delicate - good for the beginning of the whisky journey, minus wateriness.

Вкус 80 Cranberries, vanilla intertwined with the sour taste of fruit, chocolate, peach jam.
Финиш 77 Delicate, short finish.

Clear vinous tones from the finish, peppery from the tannins which unfortunately takes away some other flavors

Nice flavours of nougat and chocolate accompanied by light fruitiness. Cool stuff considering the price.
