20 20 19 19 78 And where is the sea? ... almost according to Poderevyansky .... and since the opening it was even worse ... sad news ...
Inoffensive, unexciting - the sea has robbed most of the flavour and left nowt in return.

Nose. Sweet Duchess. The taste is sweet Apple-pear. The aftertaste is sweet and long-lasting.
A briny and salty dram indeed, though because of the low abv presentation it's not overpowering the palate. Initially there's not that much else, but eventually some generic citrus starts shining through and a hint of vanilla and nuttiness are popping up from being buried somewhere underneath the brininess. It's very simple, but still very much distinctive.

Bitter, and fortunately short. |
Primitive whisky, with an obsessive malt component. In theory, this sample should be light and “drinkable”, but it turned out differently.
Received as a gift and surprised by the distillery. Nice! I often take this whisky as a warm-up to get my tongue used to the alcohol.
Basic, but good value for money.
It is OK. I would not buy another bottle.

Very very good price-quality ratio. Tasteful, but would be indeed slightly better with a higher Abv.
a reasonable dram considering the price
color - burnt caramel; Nose - a bit like burnt vanilla, mild overall, barley; Taste - nice, smooth, balanced, easy to access, vanilla, a bit of dark chocolate, barley, very sweet, there is peat and smoke but only very, very slightly; Finish - warming, medium long, very nice and easy to drink whisky with a very good price-performance ratio
WG&S supposedly bought the distillery which has ready provided a large share of its output to their blends. Look forward to future bottlings under the distillery name.
Light whisky with a short aftertaste
Didn't expect anything but turned out to be quite decent
Actually like the nose, like those mouldy sour plums you get in Chinese shops. A bit surprised on taste, it does not follow through on taste. No sour plums or very much sweetness for that matter. More like rancid sour butter, peppers, woody, salty brine, Not much else to make me want to move from sample to bottle.
Sweet and fruity, white chocolate, tastes like a smoky, peaty Irish whisky
I've had much worse OK for the price You shouldn't expect a big highlight but I think it's better than previously rated :)

Very neutral. Very simple and not very active.
Lacks complexity, no great depth of flavour & no real influence from the location of maturation

A good value for the price, but it would be better at 46% abv. and the ex-Bourbon casks are not intense enough. This is what a non-peated 10 year old Talisker would taste like. It is good for beginners, but I would rather recommend the Old Pulteney 10 years.

Since the Aerstone land cask was reasonable for it's price I also bought the sea cask. Unfortunately I regret doing so
The Aerstone 10 Year Old Sea Cask is an uncomplicated, approachable single malt. The combination of fresh fruit, vanilla, and subtle saltiness makes it a pleasant everyday whisky.

Typical bourbon barrel notes, green apple, pear, lemon, and vanilla. Underlying these are light malt notes and a touch of honey. Maritime with a salty sea breeze and seaweed. |

The finish is rather short. Vanilla, oak, and a light sea salt note linger, accompanied by a hint of white pepper. |

Strong smell of peat. The taste of wood and peat. Aftertaste of salt, oak and peat. You can drink. Orange color.
Incredibly salty, incredibly good for such a small price. It would have a better rate.

Harsh, bitter. Worse than JW Red, worse whisky I've ever had.
I think people need to remember the price tag when reviewing; this isn't going to be a GlenDronach 18 or a balvenie 17 it's a simple and delicious 10 year old from I assume refill bourbon barrels, an easy 'breakfast' dram. Simple delicious and well worth the price especially if your new to whisky and want to lean into the what you can taste this has the usual vanillas, light saltiness and very light spice which you can build on over time. The fact most are saying drinkable and easy going also says a lot for the base spirit so well done Aerstone.
A 10-year-old single malt at this price is rare. Fruity notes with a subtle sweetness. The taste is dominated by malt, followed by fresh fruit and a touch of oak. The finish isn't particularly long but is medium-bodied with maritime nuances. Conclusion: For €25, a 10-year-old with complex ambitions. Bravo W. Grant!
Very tasty smell. Nut, light vanilla, orange. You find this again briefly when you start, then quickly there is a little pleasant pepper and bitter wood spice.
Very dull and boring, I ended up using it for cocktails.
I don't really like to be mean about any whisky, but I think someone put the r and the s in the wrong place in naming Aerstone. It doesn't taste of enough to warrant a tasting note. For the price you might as well be buy a couple of bottles of decent blended whisky. Even on offer for twenty quid it was expensive for what it was. It may be a cheap way into single malt for someone. I'm sorry, I didn't really see the point of it

Not a bad dram for the price. Not a lot on the nose, some apple, mild pickles. Plenty of vanilla on the palate. Fairly short finish, quite hot for 40%. Hardly complex but an easy drink
The smell in the glass is not very pronounced, it is light, but quite pleasant. After drinking I feel a tangle of flavors, of which I identify only a light smell of salt. When moving from the beginning to the middle, the tastes disappear and I only feel empty. The conclusion is again on pleasant, not intense salt waves.
Freebie, holiday, water - three not weak whales took save this "golden wort", but were washed ashore by the blessed Coca-Cola.
The whisky lacks character and longevity on the tongue. A few Vol% more would have done him good.

Solid in smell and attack, then typical standard bottling
Aroma of malt, but also roasted coffee and saltiness. On the palate, malt, apricots, and peaches. The finish is malty and bitter, with notes of apricot, bitter orange, and almond.
you smell nothing and taste little.
Tasting van der Feesten, surprisingly good
no smell, uncomplicated and a liquorice finish.

It is not the most complex whisky, but definitely worth a try. Very present citrus notes alternate with hints of fruit and dried fruit.
The Best budget (below 20$)10Y single malt whisky.
In prize category,.. It's good choice, but you have to count, that's very very basic whisky. But, I like the "sea taste", hint of vanilla and little bit of apple. Finish is quick, and not quite well. If you wanna start with whisky, this can be it. Sláinte Mhath
I liked it. If Talisker is not for you, you will like this drink. It is really soft, there is a feeling of honey and light citrus, smoke. In Belarus it costs 126 BYN (about 40 dollars).
Compared to Land Cask, this version falls far short in terms of level and quality. Taste, aftertaste, and aroma are all noticeably worse. You're better off buying Land Cask. It's clearly at least 20 points higher. This one just isn’t worth the money. I’ll never buy it again.
The whisky is like it said on the label "accessible". It smells and tastes alright, there is not much going on.
A decent "budget" friendly dram / daily driver. Scored 73 as the youth of the whisky comes through. Would recommend nevertheless.
Mooi flesje om cadeau te geven. Zachte en ronde smaak en goede prijs kwaliteitsverhouding.
Gekocht in de supermarkt op vakantie in Playa del Inglés. Lekker zacht en smaak is ok
A rather sharp alcoholic taste, which then reveals the aromas of vanilla and apple. The finish is long, but not particularly rich. I didn't feel the salt. Regular whisky, no special features
Nope. I understand now why it was at a bargain knock-down price in Tesco. From the name, you might be lead to think that it's an island malt. If anything, it's a wannabee island malt that's more of a Speyside. But basically it's too 'meh' to be much of anything. You can do MUCH better for the price.
