Peat, cardboard, tangerine, malt and salt. The sweetness mainly comes in the finish.

https://whiskylovingpianist.wordpress.com/2019/05/09/feis-ile-2018-bowmore/ N: A musty/sweaty suet-y/barley maltiness [mildly oily/peaty & bone dry], with dried violets & orange slices, dried tamarind, sage & onion stuffing and savoury creamy vanilla sponge. Admittedly it reads well, though overall it’s a little innocuous. T: Starts with strange soft meaty < < plastics, some fizz and then some kind of a development [if you can call it that], around a smoky/oily murkiness which almost grinds to a halt albeit for some smokey dry citrus on the turn. F: A mildly smoked barley finish with a hollow conclusion. C: As expected.

This really is a twin of the Small Batch, albeit somewhat cheaper. Around 35 EUR. A nice entry for people who are not yet familiar with Islay whisky.

COLOR: Gold (unfortunately dyed) - a light mild, but rather slightly smoky whisky, the fully convinced for its narrow taler - typical Islay or Bowmore note as expected - despite no age very round and balanced, albeit maybe a bit one-dimensional, he's very comfortable too drink, - not a mega complex whisky but definitely for about 30€ worthwhile (also as a nice beginner around the island to get to know ISLAY)
The sweet ash is nothing special but nice. Only makes a nice finish still no good whisky and really nice is not even the departure. For me it has more than a few flaws. At the border to the sink.
The NAS successor to the Small Batch - a cheap and neat Bowmore!
Smoky and marine nose, the impression of being on the quay of a port, with the fishing net, the guano and even a little fuel oil. Limestone. We are all the same very on the Bourbon, with a lot of vanilla cream and citrus fruits, grapefruit, white plums. A bit of iodine. The palate is very light, although flawless. Some spices, but it must be said quickly. Paprika and cola. Milk chocolate. Rather short and harmless, but pleasant finish, a hint of charcoal and earth. Ripe mirabelles. The nose is rather successful, it has the rusticity of Legend, but the sweetness of 12 years old. The mouth and the finish, on the other hand, are inconsistent. https://ilikesky2020.blogspot.com/2021/11/bowmore-no-1.html

A flat, primitive “smoke box”, but with a rather interesting aroma.

Vanilla notes are up front and sweet (though earthy vanilla pod does appear after a minute). Plenty of coastal peat smoke |

Nose: sweet, malt, vanilla, some citrus, slight smoke, slightly maritime •• Taste: smoke, sweet, caramel, malt, oak, slightly dirty, somewhat maritime •• Finish: short to medium long, smoky sweet malt and something mineral remains •• Conclusion: A very light whisky. Sweet notes dominate the nose, while malt and oak dominate the taste. A bit weak overall but I don't find any missing marks.
RATING: 81pts – |80 – 82 (B-) → Okay| — No major flaws, worth tasting.
A pleasant beginning turns into a very strong peat smoke at the end.
Nose: a bit medicinal sweet and Peaty some walnuts and vanilla. Pallet : Sharp, Sweet, some spices going into a woody finish with peat all the way
n: flat, smoke, ash, young, fresh fruit, creamy, wood, citrus, hint of coconut & vanilla t: smoke, fruits, citrus a: smoke, fresh fruits, citrus, metallic notes, one dimensional
Nose: Starts off with mild sweet peat, salt and notes of smoked fish. Then a weird chemical sweetness starts that grows stronger with time. Not really pleasant to nose for a longer duration. Palate: Initially a hit of fresh smoke, maritime salt and citrus. Then overripe fruit and old ground szechuan pepper corns. Rather spicy given it only has 40% ABV. Finish: Peppery, burnt vegetables and a weird metallic note.
How did Suntory managed to turn Bowmore's incredible juice into... this?
The nose is stronger than the taste. It's like a lesser version of Oban.
Chill filtering and added colour (why???) are for sure starting points of weakness for this entry level NAS from Bowmore. Anyway, the overall feeling is still quite good, despite some obvious edges from the young age. It turns out very easy to drink, with its 40% and a prominent vanilla palate, given by the bourbon casks, matching the distillery typical smoky notes, turning out in a fresh zesty finish. It's been my "easy" choice of a peaty malt for hot summer evenings and worked fine for that: nothing unforgettable, but nothing to regret for either. Apart from that context it's not recommended, unless for beginners, yet even this time I can't complain with Bowmore, also considering the very cheap price.

strange taste, short peat
Nose citrus, light smoke, caramel, cinnamon, rubber; Taste watery consistency, soft onset, citrus freshness, light smoke, caramel, honey nuts, not very complex; Finish short finish; slightly smoky finish;
