https://whiskylovingpianist.wordpress.com/2020/01/21/twe-show-2019-adelphi/ Adelphi didn’t/couldn’t call this Burnside [typically the recognised moniker for teaspooned Balvenie], because Cadenhead own that brand name. WF touched on this recently. N: Besides the decidedly firm ex-PX influence, the distillate is detectable. T: Very sherried on the palate with an oloroso-like spirit burn. F: Sweet sulphur. C: Too cask-led for my liking, but I attempt to regard it objectively.
Dist. in Dufftown (teaspooned Balvenie / + Glenfiddich), 20y, 1999-2019, refill PX, Adelphi, 58% Color: amber Nose: no alcohol, fruit cake, raisins, Mon Cherie cherry, apricot, wood Body: oily Mouth: clearly alcohol, spices, dried fruit, dark cherries, Finish: long, lively, dried fruit and pastries, pickled raisins, little wood Conclusion: 90P., Wow, great matured PX cask whiskey, dangerously tasty in the mouth, perfect balance. Unfortunately ambitious in terms of price.
