Молодой лёгкий Айла с умеренным торфом и дымом, солёно-йодистой основой и сладковатой солодовостью; вкус мелковат и незрел, но за свою цену — лучший бюджетный вариант, с чем согласны почти все.

В аромате — торф и дым средней силы, морская солёность и йод, водоросли, сладкая солодовость с карамелью и ванилью, местами вишня, белый виноград и травянисто-цветочные оттенки; у части дегустаторов проскакивают пластиковые и медицинские тона. Вкус описывают как сладковато-торфяной с солью, землёй, кофе и дубом, но заметно молодой, сыроватый и водянистый, с горчинкой от дуба, кожи и «асфальта»; тело среднее, слегка маслянистое. Послевкусие короткое-среднее, сушащее, тёплое и дымное, без развития — главная претензия в том, что напитку не хватает глубины и выдержки. Оценки согласованы плотно, в основном 76–82. Опытные ревьюеры в среднем нейтральнее и разбросаннее: один на мастер-классе поставил купажу последнее место среди Bowmore, но признал его крепким типичным образцом марки (83), другой хвалил морскую солёность и мягкую сладость (85), тогда как самый низкий балл (66) — от того, кто ждёт от торфяных молтов большей мощи. Остальные сходятся на формуле «Bowmore light»: всего понемногу, без характера тяжёлых Айла, зато честное соотношение цены и качества и удобный аперитив; отдельные низкие оценки (62, 69) — за несбалансированность и незрелость.

After some time, I was again in charge of a masterclass at the Czech Whisky Festival in Malá Morávka in April this year. This time I tasted all 5 samples five times, provided tasting notes and rated them. The order was as follows: 1. Bowmore 1990 Sherry Matured 16yo (WB1667) - 90 points 2. Bowmore 1992 Wine Cask 16yo (WB4066) - 87 points 3. Bowmore Springtide (WB86591) - 87 points 4. Bowmore Tempest (WB27248) - 86 points 5. Bowmore Legend (WB197) - 83 points So they ended up in exactly the opposite order to the one I had previously arranged for the tasting before I started tasting and evaluating them. ;) Legend is a pretty good whisky with a typical profile for this distillery. It definitely didn't disappoint me.

N: sweet, seaweed and smoky T: earth, coffee, sweet peaty and some heath F: short, just warming nice price but a bit soft Bowmore

Maritime, salty, slightly peaty (relative), sweet, soft and yummy. Pleasant, but special, in a good way.

Not the best in the Bowmore range. I like my peaty malts to have a lot more punch.This was quite cheap so sometimes you get what you pay for.

Iodized nose, light peat with reflections of guano, limestone and wet grass. Thick humidity, medicinal touch, quite spicy vanilla, floral hints, white grape. On the palate, it is a little acidic, we find a hint of pear and honey, a little taste of iron filings. Few spices, white pepper and herbs of Provence. The finish is sparkling, peppery without being too much, a little rough. It is not very long in the mouth. Mirabelle plums and small yellow apples. A trickle of coal and pebbles. Bowmore light. A bit peaty, a bit of smoke, a bit of sweet malt, but even only a bit of everything. A bottle with less character, an easy going, but well ok for the price, but please don`t expect to much of it.

Nose: Peat, Cherry, old basement, salty wind, some caramel and vanilla in the background. Initial taste: Some sweet peat, oak, salt water but also young spirit. Hint of sour cream. Body: Medium. A little oily but also quite watery Finish: Medium dries the mouth. Not much development in the taste. Price: Quite cheap. Good price quality. Presentation: The marketing guys made this the best bowmore according to the box. Comments: My first ever Bowmore. And although I generally don't like peated whisky's, I think this one isn't so bad at all. There must be some real good stuff around, as this is obviously a young whisky with quite some potential. So for a first impression it's good.

This is a nice Islay. Not wonderful, not distinctive in character like the real heavy Islay malts, but it's got the peat and the smoke. The fact that it's very cheap relative to most brands and can still deliver when you're craving that magical earthy, smoky goodness makes this a worthwhile whisky to always keep stocked in the liquor cabinet.

Young and peaty on the nose, with sweeter aspects drawn out by a couple of drops of water. Nothing of particular note on the palate, but a nice long and smoky finish. A straightforward islay dram.

To me the 12 year old is a more impressive dram, but nonetheless this will keep you warm on a cold winter night.

A whisky at the height of its price. Very interesting notes of iodine with a little fruit / peat in the background. Unfortunately, is still too immature, too raw. The bitter notes of plants / flowers are not to my taste. A good whisky "relaxing" despite everything, to drink as an aperitif and dry!

For my money I was a lifesaver, but I feel that the alcohols are young, covered by a trail of light Ailovsky haze, but for a sophisticated company it’s just the conversation.

According to the packaging, this is a selection of bourbon whisky barrels matured, undoubtedly relatively young. The taste is,caused by the oak, leather and asphalt influence, somewhat bitter. If you like this then you have a lot of complexity and taste for little money.

Luckily, even light peat is effective. But it's a little young all that ... Still for the price, it's an excellent ratio q / p.

Light iodine nose, smoky, something plastic that does not suit me as much but not as disturbing Light taste, sweet at first, smoke and nit much beneath it, I miss something deeper as overall it is quite flat Sweet smoky finish, mid long Not a bad entry level bowmore, easy to forget but I would nit mind soending an evening with a dram or two :)

Nice peaty infusion, almost had the impression to drink a refreshing peaty tea. And it is not way more expensive than a cup of tea actually (bought for about 20€ in France). Not too complex, but has taste and is not boring, perfect for the price. Apple/lime/some I-don't-know-what's-in-it herbal infusion/pepper/soft cake-y peat
