22 22 20 21 85 a surprisingly Good adult signature smoky nose, powerful, strong but dryish taste, and a short finish. Overall a good young whisky, very good in winter weather)

Fruity, smoked bacon, coastal, a very young port charlotte with a lot of character, not very complex though

Young but very good. The mix of Bourbon and Madeira barrels is spot on.

A proper journey in a glass - there is a sweet, earthiness about it, which goes on for ages. Well worth trying if you see one out and about - one to savour when the weather turns cold and dreek.

I acquired two bottles at a time when PC6 was the ‘it-whisky’ of its day. Of the two bottles I purchased, one was fairly cheap. The other? Let’s never talk about it. Time to open one. Which one, I do not know. N: A savoury sour salty affair in the main with liquidized barley sugar & madeira-sweet cowpats over yeast extract. Try tahini on a salty buckwheat cracker for strikingly deep-sour liquorice! Also thrown into the soup are suggestions of butternut squash, celeriac, leek > celeriac & potato,… Add a slug of soft mouldy smoked brie, and is that Philidelphia mixed with ginger and yoghurt[?] with a minerallic edge and more barley sugar sweetness entwined with the heat of Extra Strong Mints, aniseed rhubarb, heavily pepper-seasoned cucumbers, caramel into BBQ sauce, chilli peanut butter [on and on],… though really, we are flying way above all of these particulars. T: Easter egg chocolate if the Easter egg is rocket-fuelled, but that’s only one small part of the equation. It’s certainly metallic [from the nose] with integrated salty peat and egg white [?],… Whatever your experience, I find this intoxicating engrossing juice, distillate-forward with those ex-madeira casks – kind of obvious once you know – acting as a mellowing agent. And you don’t notice the abv as much as you might expect. Even beginners didn’t remark on it being any more pokey than some 43%+ examples I thrust upon them. Indeed, I think this works best at near-strength yet just two drops is plenty. F: An energetic sweet salty and ashy fizz sustains until the final furlong. There remains a washy/malt-beer heart and a mild Kingfisher [not the drinks giant] spearmint & aloe vera toothpaste-fresh rush. After that comes the peat smoke at its fullest with most of the action concentrated at the back of the palate. A long bitter herbal tail with sweetness at the death. What a combo! C: Words don’t reflect the emotional hold this expression has on me. Indeed, it takes me back to my first visit to Islay in 2013 when I was still very green and extremely impressionable [a light-weight]. On that particular trip and a distillery tour of Bruichladdich, alongside two other drams, I must have downed around 8-10cl of Octomore 0.1. Having not yet learnt the accepted etiquette of throwing excess liquor directly onto the hard stone of a warehouse floor, I couldn’t think of another way to empty my glass in order to try the next. Later on that day, I found myself in the middle of a field and I wasn’t the only one. I find this PC6 as fabulous as it ever was, though strangely/conversely, also fairly ordinary at times. Perhaps that explains its general appeal [or lack of], but what do I care? Sell me your [Whiskybase 86-point average] bottles any time.

Sounds better from the notes than it feels, it's pretty good, but it lacks the guts of other PCs, the notes you have to pull out some already.
