Плотный сладкий Edradour из бочек сотерна: крем-брюле, ваниль, косточковые фрукты и пряный дуб. Опытные ставят высоко за глубину и баланс, но у части дегустаторов дуб и сера перевешивают, отсюда провалы до 30–70.

В аромате доминируют сливочная сладость и спелые фрукты — ваниль, крем-брюле, малина и чёрные ягоды, персик и абрикос, мёд, с медовой выпечкой (мадлен) и нюансами сотерна; у ряда авторов проступает сера и лёгкая деревянистость. Вкус густой, маслянистый, кремовый: карамель, ваниль, взбитые сливки, косточковые фрукты и чёрная смородина, поверх которых ложатся мускатный орех, гвоздика и перец и свежий дуб; спирт при 48,2% интегрирован хорошо, тело мощное. Послевкусие средней длины, липко-сладкое и пряное, с ванилью, какао-крупкой и дубом на излёте. Опытные ревьюеры оценивают виски высоко (87–92), отмечая мясистые ноты сотерна, тонкую кислотность, ореховость и то, как солод сохраняет глубину и не задавлен бочкой; высший балл хвалит взаимодействие фруктовой сладости и пряного дерева. Основная масса держится в диапазоне 84–90 с той же сливочно-фруктовой картиной, но с оговорками — приторность, сернистость и то, что напиток быстро приедается. Расхождение создают низкие оценки рядовых авторов: 70 за простоту и мягкость и резкий провал до 30 из-за грубого дуба и лакрицы, забивающих остальные нюансы. Согласие есть по профилю (сладкий сотерн, крем-брюле, косточковые фрукты), разногласие — в том, воспринимать ли насыщенный дуб и липкую сладость как достоинство или как перебор.

Very sweet, fruity and smooth and friendly whisky. Pleasant dram for sure.
Нос 86 Very fruity and fresh. Berries, vanilla, a lot sweetness, creme brulee. Alcohol noticeable but not punching.

The malt fully meets my expectations with meaty Sauternes notes, decent wood, a fine acidity and a great nuttiness at the end. An intense cask that is not too much but still a good drinking strength.

A small batch from Edradour, matured in Sauternes hogsheads. It's a full-aged whisky, with seven hogsheads bottled. The maturation has left a dark golden hue. As always with Edradour, the whisky is uncolored and unchill-filtered. However, 48.2% ABV is hardly cask strength. glen-efze.de

Buttery. Creamy. Sweet. Creme brulee. Lots of caramel. Creamy cheesecake with apricots in it. Plus a relatively large amount of fresh oak. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Has real power in the mouth. A great interplay of fruity sweetness and spicy wood. A little more exotic now with very ripe mango and papaya. Plus a cream liqueur. Really sticks to the palate in the finish and feels like it stays behind forever with its sweet, finely spicy note. A dream of a Sauternes maturation if you like this sticky-sweet basic character. Edradour manages to ensure that the bottling is not overwhelmed by the cask and only has a superficial sweetness. The malt has depth and character. Exactly my thing.

"A whisky good to drink in early winter" I think it's a great whisky to enjoy on a chilly winter day, like drinking warm cocoa, with a creamy and sweet aroma. The scent is rich with a soft, madeleine-like sweetness, and the taste is creamy and sweet, with a hint of heavy fruits. I think it would be more satisfying to drink it when the weather gets a little chilly and you come into a warm house to warm up your body, rather than in the hot summer.

It feels slightly more stimulating compared to the alcohol content and aging period. - At first, the nuance of sulfur is quite distinct, but as time passes, it starts to blend in with other scents that are gradually disappearing. Vanilla is mixed in with the heavy nuance of sulfur. The nuance of black berries such as blueberry and blackcurrant is quite abundant. - The sandalwood has a rich, bread-like feel, and when mixed with the previously mentioned sulfur and vanilla, it feels like a madeleine. The nuance of sulfur adds a warm feeling, giving it an even more madeleine-like impression. - The peach-type stone fruit nuance is quite rich, with nutmeg spice mixed in and a little orange peel citrus added. Depending on when you smell it, the citrus is sometimes strong and resembles a peach, and when the citrus is weak, it approaches as a hard white peach with a little sourness. - The creamy bitterness of milk chocolate is slightly present, and the nuances of herbs and oak, which give a very faint dark feeling, are felt in the base.

ok 5 months have passed and I returned to this whisky. Is it a matter of mood, or is it really the malt under the influence of oxygen that has become a little better... however, there is clear progress in both the smell and the aroma

Overall, a perfectly satisfactory sweet dram, but it does get boring rather too quickly.
