Quick hit review. Thanks to peatbogger for this special 'treat' - I've been dodging Johnnie Walker Blue Label for years, but on the other hand there is nothing I would not review. A posh bottle for sure, but you buy the brand, not the whisky. A textbook blend nose awaits, with nothing standing out. Sweet apples, gentle spices and floral notes swim in an ocean of blandness. The silky arrival is led by ripe orchard fruits, honeydew melon and juicy oranges, and there are hints of smoke. It is quite sweet - and, wait for it: smooth! Candyfloss, caramel and a touch of marzipan shine through in the short to medium finish. I don't want to appear cruel, but this bottle is for golf clubs and rich pretenders with more money than sense. RATING: 3.4/5.0 stars ≙ 82 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE [-]
It does taste a little older but about 100% overpriced at least, not a patch on what they were doing 10 years ago.
Citrus, toffee, tobacco leaves, vanilla, some spices, bit of smoke quite balanced and fresh

A nice dram which won't offend, but I think the Black Label has a bit more about it, especially when you consider the price - worth a try, but wouldn't rush to buy a bottle, unless it's to sit looking pretty on the shelf.

[October, 2020] I had this dram during a local community tasting "blends only". In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 85. My notes state a balanced and flawless profile with much more peaty Caol Ila flavours than previous batches both in the nose and on the palate. Easy quaffable but way too expensive...

Modest Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label is said to contain some very exclusive whisky, even some from closed distilleries. That should give us the feeling that it is indeed very old whisky, of course. How else can you ask between 125 and 175 EUR for a no age statement blend? Or am I too harsh now? Is there more going on than just packaging (in every sense of the word)? Let us find out. The nose is quite perfumy with a small sweetness, hints of fresh bread and some peat smoke. But so soft. Silky soft, in fact. So soft that it borders on becoming uninteresting. Fairly little fruit, actually. A leaf of mint. On the palate, it is wonderfully oily and offers a good mouthfeel from the get go. The sweetness now goes hand-in-hand with some baking spices, pepper, soft peat that develops a nice smokiness and finally some caramelized onions. Truly, this works! It has something wonderfully umami. The finish is spicy and smoky and fairly long. The nose was quite modest, but on the palate this is very good. I do not know how much Islay whisky has gone into this, but I am told that it even contains some Port Ellen. In my opinion, the Blue Label is surprisingly peaty, in which the Ileach easily overpower the Speysiders.
Nothing too special here. I didn't like the copper, but with time the nose did transform into something more enjoyable. Overall an average whisky.

- very good blended whiskey - significantly more smoke and more complex than the PLATINUM - noble but also strong, very aromatic - with about 120 € a very proud price (there are 18 year old single malts for the price that have a lot more to offer ...)
A very good NAS blend, unfortunately not cheap!
The test was judged on the basis of a miniature from an Advent calendar. Very weak Blend for a huge amount of money. I don't know why, but I bought a bottle. I wouldn't do it again.

I like the better bottlings from Johnnie Walker as an all-day dram because you can find a few exciting aromas here and they are balanced blends that you can simply enjoy on the couch with their 40 or 43 percent without having to analyze them for a long time. This one is also one of them and is a very light and beautiful blend. The Green Label, which only contains single malts aged 15 and over, is a bit more intense in aroma, but not quite as elegant and soft as this one. But the Green Label costs only a quarter compared to the Blue Label. Anyone who likes such simple but good blends is well served with the Green Label for 35-45 euros (although I would then look for the old bottlings up to 2016, which have a slightly different label for the new bottling). I wouldn't spend the 140 euros for the Blue Label, but a bottle would be worth 60-70 euros to me.

The palate also begins elegantly and beautifully structured. Despite only 40 percent, a very subtle alcohol note resonates in the background. In between, a mixture of light aromas a la hazelnuts or walnuts, chocolate and again oak aromas. This is a very flavorful whiskey on the lighter side, but not overly complex, deep or exciting. Nevertheless, I enjoy the individual sips. |

Johnnie Walker Blue is easy to drink anytime. It is a fun drink that is soft but still has peat, and the peat can be felt strong but can also be bright.

- Intuitive scent of ripe apples. Combined with the sweet scent of honey, it feels like a honey apple. There is also a bit of brightness. - Iodine and salt-based peat blend well without being excessive. - Citrus orange peel. The low alcohol strength does not make it possible to emphasize the aromas. So it seems a bit interchangeable, but in spite of everything makes enjoyment enjoyable. Body: dense, oily. Colour: light golden. Nose: Quite rich, heavy, shifted to a woody-spicy side. Earthy-peaty tones, medical bandages with iodine, orange peel, yellow soaked apples, apple strudel with cinnamon, burnt marshmallow (marshmallow), vanilla marshmallow, caramel "cockerel on a stick", heather honey, chocolates "drunk cherry", raisins, prunes, hazelnuts, sandalwood, nutmeg, ground black pepper, fire ash. Taste: quite soft, light, rich, but not too dense and slightly monotonous. At first, it is sweet-creamy with hints of honey, raisins, vanilla marshmallow and cream, through the bitterness of ginger and orange peel, it turns into rich nutty shades of hazelnuts, dark chocolate and sourness of prunes. Burnt embers and ground black pepper act as a background almost all the time. Finish: slightly below average (some kind of trouble with blended whiskeys with this parameter, even the most premium ones, as I see it). Hazelnuts, dark chocolate with orange marmalade, prunes. As a result, we can say that the whiskey is certainly interesting, it has an attractive and rather complex, although somewhat closed aromatic profile, a rounded taste and a slightly poor aftertaste, but, IMHO, there is a whiskey of the same level or even much better quality for significantly smaller coins. Take only if at discounts or at tastings for informational purposes.

Aroma - citruses are felt, though it’s hard to make out which ones, then peat and the smell of an old honeycomb with a slight sourness come in, you get a thick aroma, you don’t feel alcoholic, nothing special in the aroma, it’s delicious but very simple Taste - peat, sweetness and pungency of cayenne pepper are immediately felt - but quickly replaced by the light taste of old honey and the orbit of a bubblemint) during the first dram, with each swallow a little numbness of the mouth was felt, as after anesthesia by a dentist. Whiskey is not alcoholic, very strong, you can drink it like compote, in large sips. The finish is short, peat, wax, and the same bubblemint orbits. The whiskey is delicious, uncomplicated, age-related spirits are felt, but something is missing, for such a price you are waiting for something stunning and memorable, now I understand why it has such a low rating on the WB, I think the rating of 83 points is very fair for such a drink.

Surprisingly strong for the abv, balanced, peat smoke, sherry, crème brûlée with tropical fruits. |

Rich, sweet and spicy, peat, sherry bitterness, a bit of vanilla. Nothing stands out, but very harmonic and a lot of taste for 40% abv. |

WOW! I am astonished at what they have done to Johnnie Walker Blue Label. I am only glad I have an old bottle from ten years ago, the new stuff is garbage and an overpriced rip off. Genuinely astonished, Blue Label hadn't changed for years, then suddenly it become a thin, weak, flavourless whisky drink which seems to allow thick tasteless grain whisky to dominate. This is the last bottle of Blue Label I ever buy. Shame on Diageo. They will pay for it in the end though when noone buys Johnnie Walker because they simply understand that the product is no good anymore.

This one from Walker is very complex with a lot of taste. Also found it very dry in the aftertaste.
Hello I am very disappointed with the finish for the price. Like many others, I expected something different. First sip was good. After that he disappointed me very much.
A very fine whiskey in the nose and in the mouth, but also relatively boring. I have struggled to discover special flavors here. He is very round and mild, in the mouth he does not burn a bit, here are 40% Alk. Simply too little. The finish is gone very fast. Tasty for a Johnnie Walker, but for the price there are hundreds of better (single) malts.
At first, it comes with apple. But after some minutes turns with sugared water, peat. I can feel also peaty at taste but there are lots of taste. vanilla, spice, butter. Nice blending.
Alcohol is hardly noticeable, caramel and maybe a slightly mixture of nuts and lentils. Nice correct, but the taste is not much, caramel, slightly lemon. Perfectly hidden alcohol
I gave it 86 out of 100, nice on the nose, complex on the pallet and finishing is a bit disappointing. Price also was considered. Too expansive in my opinion. Great whisky overall.

First thing I noticed is candy sweet and then the caol ila like peaty taste - well balance for my liking. Caramel and Malty-earthy on the background. |

Medium, velvety smooth. Citrus, orange and spices. some peat fading out revealing more sweetness. Nothing more for me. |
I don’t know why so many people keep paying so much for a 40% blended whisky with colour added and chillfiltered. I mean is not bad, but wouldn’t pay more than €50 for it. It’s a mass marketing product. Glad I only got a sample.

A higher abv would really benefit this whisky, considering how good this is at 40%abv. The aroma and taste is great. The one flaw is the lack of abv to bring the full impact and body/viscocity.
very well balanced

I felt like I was drinking roasted chocolate. Beautiful. But, of course, way overpriced. That being said, everyone should try a bottle as some point in their lives; my suggestion would be to get a hold of the JW 4-pack, which has the 300 ml bottles of Black, Green, Gold/Plat and Blue. Probably the best value.
Too expensive

Perfectly decent and "smooth" with a little bit of smoke. But not all that much more. Would be a perfectly nice whisky if not for the ridiculous price.
Can't say that it's too bad, but it lacks aroma and smell. Definitely not worth its price and compared to other good whiskies I have, I'm having it hard to calling this a proper whisky. Not recommended
