It's actually very good, but is it £100 good? At 50 it would have been a bargain, at 75 acceptable, but sadly in todays market it's right on the money.

A touch atypical for Glenlivet with the emphasis on herbs instead of fruit. Nice release, but a little to expensive for what you get.

It's a pretty good whisky, but nothing to get too excited about.

Quite a worthy representative of this line. Unlike others, he is stronger, although he is young. But the balance of these qualities allows me to vote for him.

I am not a fan of Glenlivet but I actually quite liked this one, shame about the finish.

A very pleasant mix of sweetness and caustic mineral derivatives flavored with oak spice, juicy, thick, not very complex and deep, but quite harmonious and whole.

Not bad, but personal I've  got other favorites for this price.

A bright, impulsive malt, with a fruit bias. A decent example of no age whisky.

Sweet sherry influence, spice balanced, malt, a bit bitter, oak driven. Not bad, but not great.

An interesting whisky which shows a new side to Glenlivet while still holding true to the distillery character.

Colour: gold. Nose: sweet with muffins, beewax, sweet fruits, apples, olive oil, powdered sugar and oak notes. Mouth: sweet with sweet fruits, red apples, spices and vanilla notes. Finish: middle and sweet with sweet fruits, oak, caramel and apples notes. The Glenlivet Cipher is a well balanced, smooth, tasty and easy drinkable whisky. I gave 85 points.

Nose: Pears and bananas. Honey and vanilla. The wood is not so dominant, but hints of vanilla and soft spices are present Palate: Oily/creamy. More spice on the palate than the nose. Apples/pears. potentially citrus and more honey is definitely present Finish: Sweet. The fruitiness stays for a while. A bit of milk chocolate. Dries out a bit with spices. Definitely at nice dram, but a bit underwhelming I must say. Especially given the price tag.

Enjoyable everyday dram but very not impressive (and pricey for what it offers). Starts fruity then lots of drying spices.

Neither fast nor slow does the malt run down the glass wall with relatively large windows. So far so good, but what I am to keep from this marketing "gag" I do not know so right. I admit that I am a bit biased. Wait... Aroma / Nose feeling: Speyside is in the air. Lovely tones flatter the nose. The light alcohol is felt, but does not affect negatively at all. Malted barley mixed with honey, sour drops (orange peel) mix as well as very minimal wood and the ex-bourbon barrels are not really covered or betrayed by the impression of creamy caramel. The impression of berries is getting stronger and makes me think of hot love in the summer. The ice, mind you !! I do not dare to say which barrels were in play but if I had to bet, would type in several ways. Below vlt. a white wine from France? No idea... Taste / mouthfeel: Gently, the single malt is in the mouth dar. First, I immediately noticed the wood, which spreads prominently on the palate. Slightly tickling in the mouth at the second sip and I enjoy nuts, vanilla, caramel and through the retronasal exhalation, I am suddenly in the midst of a bulging cookie jar. The wood remains present in further sips. Lovely I like it! Most likely (!) I would spontaneously use a Knockando 18 (?) For comparison. Finish / aftertaste / Length: The finish is medium in length and shows lovely, harmonious, although here, too, the wood is a bit bitter companion. The sweet Speyside impressions, however, outweigh. In addition, there are also fruity, fresh notes. I think about citrus fruits. No acidic. More the sweet variants. Comment: All in all a pleasing, if also calm Scotch. The marketing gag was pretty funny, but does not have to be again. The PLV is not justified in my opinion. Tasty comparable malts you get a few euros cheaper. Would I buy it at this price? No. Points: 85/100

I am angry but I will try to remain objective in my notation. Nettle, burdock, dry leaves, dried herbs, laurel, fried potatoes, garlic, dill, mint, lime, sea buckthorn, white apple, honey, beer, cookies.

Taste stays behind for a very long time and that way you can enjoy the delicious full taste for a long time.... Amazing whisky!
