Тропическая фруктовая бомба со сливочно-медовым профилем (тайный Balvenie 1993); опытные хвалят слоистость, но отмечают заметный спирт. Оценки плотно держатся у 88–92.

В аромате — спелые жёлтые фрукты (яблоки, груши, мирабель, абрикос, персик) и тропические ноты (манго, маракуйя, ананас), дополненные мёдом, ванилью, кремом, миндальной пастой, шоколадной пудрой и лёгкой дубовостью; заметна цитрусовая свежесть. Вкус маслянисто-сиропный, восковой, с обилием пчелиного воска, ванили, ирисок, сливок, тропических фруктов и медовой сладости, иногда с бродильно-кисловатыми и слегка пряными оттенками. Послевкусие долгое, сливочное и мощное — мёд, фрукты, каштановый крем, белый шоколад, кокос; при добавлении воды проявляется больше горечи (зелёный миндаль) и чайно-гвоздичных нот. Хвалят прежде всего слоистость, деликатность и медово-фруктовую насыщенность, в которой отчётливо угадывается почерк Balvenie; несколько авторов отмечают рост качества от глотка к глотку. Главная претензия опытных ревьюеров — ощутимые спиртовые тона, которые слегка снижают привлекательность. Расхождения невелики: оценки опытных (88–92) и остальных (87–91) почти совпадают, разброс узкий, и общий консенсус — качественный, но не безупречный образец на уровне 89.

Burnside, Sideburn a.k.a. Balvenie...who cares, the Sponge did it once again! Marvelous fruit bomb with lots of layers to discover. Becomes better every time I taste it. Glad that I was able to purchase a bottle of this series which unfortunately will soon end to exist.

Definitely an interesting release, with warm almost tropical tones, full of ripe yellow apples and pears, fruits and dried fruits. Alcohol tones are noticeable, which somewhat reduces its appeal.

First a lovely airy freshness, then we dive into pulpy fruits, cereals, a delicate woodiness, liquid honey, green apples, dates, yellow plums, mirabelle plums, pastry cream, almond paste, chocolate powder. All kinds of citrus fruits, lemon, pineapple, grapefruit. On the palate, beeswax in abundance, intense vanilla, exotic fruits, clementines. Barely detectable spices. A drop of caramel. Long and creamy finish, but also powerful, more honey and fruits, but also chestnut cream, white chocolate mousse, coconut. You can really smell the Balvenie, and it is very successful, full of delicacy and honey.
