Well, I find this one pretty convenient and drinkable - however, in a blind tasting I would guess anything but Talisker - it's totally lacking the typical Talisker roughness - nothing for Talisker fans
The Talisker basic profile is recognizable, but the fruit notes from the nose are already very unusual and dominant. There is not much oak influence. All right, but not necessarily what I expect from a Talisker. But he is a little too trimmed to the (presumed) duty-free taste.
Some softer notes than the 10YO but not of much higher quality. Apparently put in the market to replace the 18YO (the same price level as that used to be until recently at least) but not of that quality by far. I'm going to skip this one.
An overpriced Talisker that I believe is no more than 12 years. Previously rated as 86 when I started digging into Talisker, however a low 78 now. It's nothing like the other products they have. Sure there's the trademark maritime made by the sea features. Common sea spray salt, oysters, seaweed, sometimes even sea bass and even cod oil. Even with those points, this Talisker is a failure. Mainly due to the high price point at £120 in the high street and £150 in the duty free (Heathrow). I would say it's a 86 pointer perhaps if the pricing was put down to about £70. Paying so much for so little. Normally I never complain about the price and review based on taste alone. Money is no object to the taste of a scotch.

[April, 2016] I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 85. I took no detailed notes as this whisky did not interest me.
The nose so typical of Talisker. Very aromatic smoke, rather soft, not intrusive. Tastes very soft. But the bottle is also almost empty, has already given off some flavor. Otherwise tasted like a 10 year old. Maybe even a bit flatter. Not bad. But too expensive ...
Dark golden colour. The whisky is clearly oily.

The nose seems quite secretive. The fruits appear, albeit a little hidden. citrus. Fresh green fruit of the orchard. Pears. Over time, the fruit gains some intensity. Oranges. A pinch of white pepper. Sweeter notes come. Vanilla and caramel. There is a touch of salt and an airy note of smoke. However, fruits still play the first violin. |

Completely ok, without any major flaws, quite pleasant to drink, but whether he is worth the partially called prices, is questionable. For the cheapest called 70 € just as acceptable. Especially compared to an 18-year-old tested and there he loses noticeably.
Sweet & Salty Last year I hosted a Talisker Masterclass in my neck of the woods. What we tasted was top notch, but this Talisker Neist Point was not in the line-up then. I had not even tasted this Travel Retail Exclusive yet. Pascal, one of my whiskybuddies present at the tasting, told me it was very good and even went so far as to offer me his bottle with a few drams left. So I was able to taste it at last and share my thoughts with you. The nose is rather atypical in fact. First I get some Granny Smith apples, followed by peach and apricots and only then the soft smoke and some maritime elements emerge. I do believe some sherry casks were used. Caramelized nuts. A salty edge that is completely smothered by the caramel and other sweet notes. But it has to be said: it works! Wonderful nose, if you ask me. Nicely oily and immediately peppery as you are used from Talisker. Sweet and salty at the same time, mildly drying and with a bitterness from grape pith. The spiciness becomes louder as the malt settles on your tongue. The smoke, however subtle, is unmistakable. On the finish – which is long without a doubt – becomes even more drying. A strange, somewhat floral, almost soapy note, lingers (without being disturbing). Still to be found left and right (and at the distillery itself) for around 80 EUR. Not cheap, but very good. Thanks, Pascal. It convinced me to buy two bottles for my personal pleasure!

This may have been a bit overpriced as a NAS bottling when it came out, and the ratings appear to reflect that. But apart from that, it's a perfectly fine Talisker that strikes a good balance between brash, young smoke and some obviously older components that mellow things out.

Peppery peat smoke with a farmy touch. Maritime / salty as well as herbal aspects. Green olives in brine. Eukalyptus. Some vanillin from the ex-bourbon casks, and a mellow, older, slightly waxy note. |

Lemongrass, clove, pink pepper, saltwater taffy, bitter herbs, dark coffee, and a nice, fat, lemony sweetness at the death. Good body, very powerful attack. Again this seems like a mix of young and old whiskies, with the older ones more palpable in the beginning, and the younger ones prevailing at the end. |

A bit sharp at the end: the younger malts bring a certain along with them that drowns out the nuances of the older components. Quite some oak here as well, but the distillate holds its own. |
Crazy, blind, I would believe, because what would have been added but that is forbidden ...

Falls over the other Talisker OA. He can not hide his youth and the typical Talisker character that I value comes up only a little bit down here. Acts like a soft-washed Talisker with little draft. The price is in comparison to the great 18J way too high.

Nose: quite gentle and pleasant, slightly light fruit plus a small tropical punch, mineral, honey-sweet and floral soft, discreetly maritime and smoky, oak and spiciness are still very shy in the background. Very nice but somehow unspectacular. Taste: now a bit of action, beautiful peppery onion with fruit in honey glaze and then on the finish a spicy mixture of oak, pepper and now strong smoke (where has he just hidden in the nose?). No comparison to the old 18s but still a nice and tasty Talisker.

Smell: beautiful fruity aroma, such a pleasant orange character - apricots, citrus, orange peel, but the smokiness is just so easy to feel in the undertone Taste: very pleasantly smoky, spicy, sweet - overall, the whisky is very perfectly smooth. Overall, it's an excellent gentleman, but if we compare this model with the 18yo version, which costs about the same, it definitely has a chance
- a NAS that tastes damn good, but also a has an outrageously high price, - an "elegant" Talisker, but also somewhat "castrated" - comparable to the 10 year old, but more fruit (esp. sherry) but less “chilli” - at that time about 85,00 € was already very sporty, over 150€ but are clearly too expensive
I have just compared with my first Notes Neist Point and see the confirmed. Is good stuff, the 87 points he gets today again, the sweetness is too intense and acts. Nevertheless, I do not like joining the group, the marketing is no more or less questionable than other modern NAS bottlings too. The quality is there, so far that is much better than some others. Even if one notices the young barrels, he is altogether already in the direction of the older, because he has the complexity. The more pronounced bite makes it more interesting for me despite lower score than the 18-year-old.
A reasonable all day dram which is OK but when you spend 100€ you expect more of it but besides the Talisker 30 I had no dram of this distillery yet that really convinced me to love em!
After 2017 I tasted this again in 2021; It's a good malt (in great packaging) - but - for a Talisker he is very good - the impetuous, wild, typical Talisker characteristics are missing! But they have called a hefty price for it!

Cool molt, sweet, very juicy, soft, but at the same time powerful and dense; the palette of derivatives is not too diverse, but you don’t notice this at all, the fact that there is quite enough, not to add, not to subtract.
Not what you want from a Talisker. Too young by far, you notice the lack of maturation on both nose and palate. I was extremely underwhelmed by this malt after several tasting sessions, just my personal take on it, but as for me I can not really understand the positive echo it has received. Besides, this Talisker is massively overpriced. I just wonder when the hype will decrease. Even remotely comparing this whisky to Talisker 18yo (let alone the 25yo) is absurd. You might just as well buy Laphroaig Select.

A softer side of Talisker, balanced and complex.
Now this is a hate it or like it whisky. I like it despite it being young which is recognisable in the taste but it has much to discover when you give it a drop of water and some time to develope. For me the mouthfeel was the best of this dram. How sweet this is, I like this dram.

Official tasting notes: Colour/appearance: Warm, yellow gold. Fluid and soft, developing fine, late legs.Nose: An immediate and perfectly poised waft of sulphurous spent match above a soft, reassuring, cereal layer of freshly baked sourdough bread and ripe red fruits. Later, honey, creamy toffee, peat, wood smoke, salt and ozone followed by clove-accented bubble-gum notes. A faint savoury trace – the acetic tang of new make and perhaps the charcoal ash from a beach barbecue. Finally, bracing, soaring pine resin. A beautifully paced and outstandingly balanced composition at 45.8%. Softer with water, with greater emphasis on caramel and malt notes; growing richer, with shaved dark chocolate and a little kirschwasser.Body/texture: Viscous, pleasing and firm.Palate: Salty and slightly honeyed, then savoury – home-made potato chips, cooked in beef dripping and seriously seasoned – giving way to glorious dark South American chocolate laced with chilli; then redcurrants and coating, pithy tannins – crisp and vegetal. Fresh tarragon. Growing fiery yet creamy and filling the lungs with smoke. Wonderfully sweet, honeyed and liqueur-like with water.Finish: Long. At first fiery, smoky and minty with a memory of rich, dark chocolate truffle cake. Later, wood ash, more clove, chocolate ginger and hints of coal tar. Growing cooler, with subdued, late chilli notes and a final appetisingly sulphury, savoury smokiness. With water: Pure sweet honeyed smokiness. Sauternes followed by an exquisite late and distant smoke, peat on the breath and ultra-late salt on tongue.
Another Talisker that I save aromas and tastes in my memory. Even though it is a NAS, a lot is happening in it. Well-balanced, delicate, fruity with a hint of smoke and salty sea water. Alcohol completely imperceptible. I like it. You definitely need to give him some time to aerate himself and thus open up. I bought it for around 80 € and I believe it was money well spent. I recommend.

Uncomplicated and relatively tasty and sweet Talisker. As with almost all bottlings from this distillery, this bottle only reaches its peak when it is only half full and has been able to breathe for (at least) several months. I prefer the Distiller's Edition, but see this bottle for Talisker beginners as a good alternative to the 18-year-old if it is not available.

Talisker Neist Point, named after the westernmost promontory of Skye Island, contains delicately selected barrels of distillery, some of which contain the rarest and softest whiskys the warehouse has to offer. The aromas start smoothly but develop slowly but steadily bringing wave-by-wave aromas of sea salt, spices, and volcanic smoke to the fore, before a warming and sweet-smoky finish sets in.
