I don't use this usually but this one is really "smooth" - really not bad

Aroma:Pronounced;Palate:88/100; Aftertaste:Med-Long.
A decent smoky-peaty release, quite varied, not too deep, but with an interesting composition, which, however, initially simplifies in the direction of smoky-peaty tones as it develops, but is subsequently corrected by a coffee-chocolate sweetness.

A wonderful, balanced and not at all watery whisky that drinks like nectar! On the nose I would confuse it with sherry Talisker. 23 23 22 22
Have both the Hakushu and Yamazaki Peated Spanish Oak bottles opened. The Hakushu received a 92 points for me. Let's see what the Yama has in store for us...

Definitely some similarities between the two, but Yama doesn't have as much denseness and heaviness as the Hakushu. The Yama also is not as immediately aromatic. Still, I like the nose a lot. So smooth and pleasant. |

Young and simple, but delicious nonetheless! A beautifully crafted whisky by the folks at Suntory. It's not as complex as the Hakushu, but still a good mix of peat, cream frosting, coconuts. The sherry is not as pronounced here. Like the Hakushu, this is very creamy. In fact, the mouthfeel with both the Hakushu and Yamazaki is very impressive. So easy to drink. |

This is where it falters a bit. The flavors do not linger on in the palate as long or as pleasant as the Hakushu, and there's a bit of metallic and medicinal aftertaste. Still, I am very happy I got a bottle of the Yamazaki. Very enjoyable! The Hakushu is the one to get between the two in the Kogei Collection. These are available at some of the better international airports. I got mine at Changi in Singapore and Dubai. Hakushu is quite limited in Changi but available at Dubai. Yamazaki is definitely more prevalent between the two. |
Light smoke, plums, bacon, pepper, Stays in the front of your mouth.

The Yamazaki is quite rich in flavor, with elegant peat, sweet and sour orange peel, and a long spice aftertaste.

Delicious Yamazaki + sherry. Good price. (I paid $200 for this bottle.)

Sour plums, spent coffee, ashes, red jujubes, dark chocolate, very clean.

Weak peat, salty taste, junk food nuance, soy sauce, slightly toffee, dark tannin and oak touch, in a good way it is unique, in a bad way it is ambiguous

It was a pleasant surprise; at 43.0% vol., it wasn't watery at all, with good concentration. The sherry was generously portioned, and the peat was cleverly interspersed throughout the tasting, only appearing at the aroma and finish, otherwise blending seamlessly with the body. It not only served as a highlight but also added a subtle glow to the rich sherry character, which is exactly the style I envision sherry peat should have.

Sherry's sincerity is evident in the smoked plum, cranberry jam, milk chocolate, and the finishing touch of leather and moss-like peat—it's excellent. |

Sherry and a slightly oily body prevent this 43.0% vol. from being watery. Notes include cream, plum juice, coconut, raw nuts, metal, and leather. While it lacks a bit in terms of aroma complexity and doesn't deliver a climax on the palate, it is a solid wine. |

Medium to short, Sherry dissipated a little faster, leaving only metal and cold peat ash in the end. |
Thick sherry with light smoke make it even thicker, jammy and clean
Medium peat, intuitive sherry. Bittersweet, oaky. Long salty peat finish.
Really bad. Tastes like chemical. Even worse than Yamazaki 12 but a higher price. Not worth
Quite an exceptional one, with complex flavours coming through from the Mizunara and Spanish oak blend
