В аромате единодушно читается зрелый олоросо: тёмные и тушёные фрукты (изюм, сливы, финики, черника, вишня), красные ягоды и джем, молочный и тёмный шоколад, корица, гвоздика, мускатный орех, ваниль и коричневый сахар, у части авторов — марципан, мёд с тёплым молоком, орехи и тонкая мятная свежесть. Вкус повторяет эту сладкую хересную канву с тушёной клубникой, изюмом, дубом и мягкими пряностями, но почти все отмечают лёгкое, водянистое тело для 40% и появляющуюся к концу дубовую горчинку; послевкусие чаще короткое и суховатое, хотя у отдельных дегустаторов пряности и сухофрукты держатся несколько минут. Опытные ревьюеры ставят стабильно высоко (85–88), подчёркивая сбалансированность, длину послевкусия и привлекательный хересный характер, и лишь мягко сетуют на лёгкое тело как следствие массового розлива. Рядовые оценки разбросаны сильнее (78–90): восторги вызывают редкость 100% олоросо, тёмный цвет и соотношение цены и качества (тайваньский эксклюзив), тогда как критика бьёт по одномерности «только херес», заниженной крепости 40%, глушащей потенциал, пригоревшей горечи бочки и невыразительному короткому финалу; скептики прямо советуют вместо него хересные релизы Glendronach, Glenfarclas или Royal Brackla. Very dark, dark copper color. Slight oiliness.
Нос 87 Very pleasant. Quite intense. Sweet red fruits and berries. Dessert profile. Underneath are fresh orchard fruit. Well balanced, smooth. Dried fruit, raisins. Spices. Cinnamon. Very sweet. Milk chocolate with raisins.
Вкус 85 Sweetness. Milk chocolate. Hazelnut. A bit watery. Dried fruits. Dried raisins, but less sweet. Spices. Cinnamon. White pepper. Red caramel apples come out from underneath. Nuts.
Финиш 84 Dessert chocolate with raisins. Spices. Cinnamon. Ginger. White pepper. Cocoa. Dessert chocolate again. Nuts. A bit of oak. Medium-long finish.

Warm Milk Glenlivet released two 13 year old versions for Taiwan. The Oloroso Sherry Cask at 40% and the same at cask strength. I will try the one at drinking strength, courtesy of my buddy tom. Will you look at that deep bronze color? Mouthwatering. Candy-like sweetness on the obligatory dark fruit, completely as expected: dates, blueberries, plums, raisins, sugared orange peel and maraschino cherries. Add a handful of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, liquorice) and a good dose of brown sugar. Let’s not forget chocolate. But also warm milk with honey and marzipan. All in all a very attractive and sherried nose! It’s a bit of a lightweight body-wise. Again a mix of dark fruit, both fresh and in a stew, with the same spices as on the nose, joined by some candied ginger. A mild woody bitterness emerges, but a leaf of mint counters this nicely, making it a balanced malt. The finish is surprisingly long. I can still taste it after a full five minutes. A lovely note of sweet tobacco at the death. But what a pity that it is so light bodied. Then again, this is a general release for a huge audience, must not forget that. Thanks, Tom.

Нос 88 A very mature sherry nose, with profound notes of plum compote and cinnamon, which I really like, and some barrel-aged balsamic vinegar with a dash of mint liqueur is also included.
Вкус 88 A little tart and less fruity than the nose, but now still old leather and long-forgotten candied lemon peel in the old kitchen drawer. Definitely very balanced and alcohol is hardly noticeable.
Финиш 87 The finish is also harmonious and long, soft tannins, light notes of tobacco

Better than Mac 12, but still very one dimensional. Nice sherry, easy drinking, but nothing to wow a guy. A turn the brain off and enjoy pour.

Very rare to see 100% Oloroso cask matured whisky, and from the taste it seems to be all European oak! A unique age statement which lets the whisky be woody but isn't over oaked. Shame it is a Taiwan only exclusive.

I think this whisky would have been better had it been bottled at cask strength.
Нос 86 Dried fruit, sherry and wood initially. Pear, apple, honey, hay and wet spruce or oak wood. All this followed by nuts and a bit of the cologne that my grandfather used to eat. I also smell something of toasted bread.
Вкус 84 Honey, sherry, wet wood, apple, pear, more honey. Nuts, again that cologne and something of cut grass and hay.
Финиш 83 Eau du cologne, hay and cut grass, honey, sherry, apple and a hint of pear. Walnut, wood at the end. At the very end, the finish is left with some bitter white grapes. The finish is quite short.

raisins and cooked fruit on the nose, and unmistakably deep sherry color. Sherry tannins on the palate with sweet red fruit. A touch of dark chocolate and clove and cinnamon. Short finish. A really good dram. With another 5 years it would be unbelievable. Too bad it's not more widely available.

Light bodied with a thin coating line. Surprisingly tenacious on the fade. Some of the dried fruit and spice stayed with me for a few minutes after finishing a sip. Distinctly different from the standard 12, but they share a bit in common. It's not the most complex sherried whisky, but it also doesn't ooze from every which way with just sherry. In my opinion, it's worth trying it if it isn't too expensive.

Although there is a qualified sherry barrel flavor, But there's an unpleasant barrel-burned bitterness at the end. (Not caramel, is really only bitter.) Overall, the nose is the most prominent, fully presenting the sweet dried and nutty flavors of Oloroso sherry barrels, After the entrance, the interference of alcohol is a bit strong, and the wooden barrel occupies most of the taste. The taste of malt is about to disappear, and it does not feel very balanced. The ending rhyme was also unexpectedly short, leaving no impression. In recent years, many distilleries have emphasized the taste of sherry casks, which seems to be because it can easily please more drinkers. But if I want to drink sherry, I should still go for products from Glendronach, Glenfarclas, Royal Brackla, and other distilleries that are really good at sherry casks, and they all cost less than this bottle. The total taste is 85 points, and the price does not affect the score.

dark sultry color, i have 5 bottles of these , never had such a great whisky for this age an price tag , ( taiwan import only) love it. Nice solid box , hard tot open with the holding flaps. if you can have it for a fair price , buy it or tast it .

40% ABV greatly hinders the potential of this whisky. I'll recommend going for cask strength. However, you can feel the presence of "Rare Oloroso Sherry Cask" from the nosing. Generally, it is not bad as a after dinner drink. Nonetheless, the finish is a little bit underwhelming. In my point of view, it is slightly better than Macallan 12 (which is good but too plain).
Нос 86 Maybe you can call this dram as a sherry bomb just by the nose? Sherry, cinnamon, vanilla, sweetness, raisin, fruit cake, etc. Edit: This is the kind of whiskies that you either like it or hate it. If you are a sherry-head, go for it. Otherwise, you may not like it that much (One-dimensional to sherry influences). Last but not least, I do not recommend adding any water when tasting.
Вкус 84 Spicy, heavy influence of sherry, oak, fruity, dark chocolate, raisin. For the second sip, the fruitiness and sweetness are more noticeable than the spiciness (more pleasant for me).
Финиш 81 Short and dry. Most flavors are gone in 1 minute except the sherry, oak. Not that spicy.

It’s a very good sherry scotch. It’s much more tasty than traditional Glenlivet. Nose is light sherry and sweet. Palate is thicker than nose, heavy oloroso sherry, delicious. Finish is short though, no bitterness at all. Well balanced. A very good scotch.

Nose is heavily sherried with stewed fruits, toffee caramel and sugar, Taste is rounded and gentle with soft oak, Finish is short and restrained. It's like Glendronach Revival but more shy.
