The subtle maritime notes are a reminder of this whisky's origin – a discreet nod to the coast. On the palate, the whisky is powerful and full-bodied, clearly reflecting its cask strength of 59.4%. The sweet and spicy elements intertwine, while oak aromas and smoke provide structure. An intriguing, slightly musty, mineral undertone adds depth and complexity, complementing the wine notes without becoming overpowering. The spice notes are a recurring theme throughout the flavor profile. The finish is medium-long and pleasantly aromatic. Sweetness, smoke, and spices are perfectly balanced, while the cherry fruit adds a final touch and further emphasizes the influence of the barrique cask. Das Weinfass hat einen schönen aber nicht übertriebenen Einfluss gehabt. Eine Mischung aus Rauch, Kirsche und Schokolade. Lecker. Fehlnoten habe ich keine. Der Alkohol ist kräftig, passt aber. | 87 Punkte
