В аромате преобладают тёмные и сушёные фрукты — чернослив, ежевика, чёрная смородина, вишнёвый джем, — дополненные мёдом, виноградом, дубом с танинами и лёгкими нюансами шиповника, розы, земли и грифеля карандаша; сказывается молочнокислая свежесть. Вкус фруктово-ягодный, с чёрной смородиной, красными ягодами, мёдом и пряностями, при шелковисто-молочной маслянистой текстуре и мягких бордоских танинах; чувствуется характерная плотность спирта Edradour. Послевкусие расходится в оценках: одни находят его коротким и по-винному напоминающим красное вино, другие — долгим, маслянисто-минеральным, с вяжущей ягодной свежестью и приятным пряно-танинным балансом. Оценки согласованы и держатся в узком диапазоне 84–88: опытные ревьюеры ставят ровно высоко и подробно разбирают бордоское бочковое происхождение и текстуру, тогда как рядовые чаще критикуют нетипичную для дистиллерии лёгкость тела и излишнюю винность, воспринимая напиток как любопытный, но не вполне характерный. Существенных противоречий между группами нет — разброс идёт скорее по длине и убедительности послевкусия, чем по общему уровню.

Edradour often uses wine maturation. I would interpret the back label to mean that the wine was indeed matured entirely in first-fill Bordeaux hogsheads. It's released as a small batch with a higher alcohol content of 48.2% ABV. In the glass, the whisky is golden with a reddish hue. glen-efze.de

Not quite Edradour in terms of taste and thickness. It’s very winey and almost feel like drinking a red wine at the finish, imply being short finish. A funny scotch anyway.

N: Moderate lactic acidity, blackcurrant, oak nuances with tannins, subtle rosehip (with hints of rose fruit and citrus), dirty spices, a hint of earth. Rosa perfume. T: Fragrant blackcurrant, red berries, a hint of tannin, and a hint of pencil lead. Perhaps, as expected from a Bordeaux cask (I'm not sure what wine was used, but I'm guessing it's from the Médoc Left Bank, with a strong Cabernet Sauvignon note from Graves and Pauillac). This was due to the milky, silky texture, the prominent pencil lead, and the soft, tannin-like undertones that seemed to settle in the mid- and lower-bodied palate. The characteristic character and silky/milky texture of the Edradour Spirit were impressive. Additionally, the flavor revealed nuances of rose, mud, and a hint of spice. The bright, refreshing red berry character was also impressive. F: The finish was consistent and long. Even after adding water, the berry nuances remained, and the slippery oiliness and minerality-derived bitterness were impressive. The moderate tannins tingled the tongue, creating a pleasant balance with the spice.
Нос 86 The scent smells like miscarriage. You can feel the complex miscarriage and the aging of wine. It's not the pleasure that you can feel intuitively right away, but you have to taste it and savor the scent.
Вкус 89 Great Black Current . Milky and silky texture Pleasant red berries. Bordeaux's unique astringent tannins persist weakly. The red berry and pencil lead of Bordeaux wine come subtly. It feels like a complex wine cask.
Финиш 88 The finish is not that long. But the complex and delicate finish is excellent. Oily and mineral finish. It also feels a little bit like slippery water. At the end, the astringency and freshness of Bordeaux remain shallow.
