Deep. Incredibly deep. 91-100 – Whisky heaven, best stuff

Aroma：Intense；Palate：91/100; Aftertaste：Long.

A wonderful, predictably intense Glenfarclas. The nose is particularly dreamy. Be warned, though, on the palate it's very oaky and bittersweetly spicy. I like it, but it might be too much for some. Otherwise, a fantastic, intense flavor profile without any off-notes like sulfur.

Compared to the other 90s Glendfarclas of the #51xx series, a very worthy representative. Slightly weaker in the nose than #5117, but due to the lovely honey sweetness, it is significantly better for me than, for example, #5122 or #5125.

Over three decades in a first-fill butt—can that work? Isn't the malt already "overripe," bitter, or too oaky? The whisky is at room temperature; it's had time to breathe. Why rush? Tasting is the only way! NOSE Explosive opening! Dense, dark sherry. Cocoa, roasted nuts, and sweet dried fruits like raisins, figs, prunes, and damsons. Along with leather and furniture polish. With time, mocha, dark chocolate, tobacco, walnuts, and honey follow. The finish offers orange liqueur, anise, and mild red pepper. A magnificent nose. PALATE Rich, oily, almost creamy. Enormous intensity. A mature, powerful sherry malt with dark fruit sweetness and fine roasted aromas. Cocoa, coffee, nuts, honey, and mature oak form a dense core, complemented by leather, tobacco, a touch of dryness, a hint of orange, and mild pepperiness. FINISH A very long and intense finish with plums, raisins, blueberry jam, bitter cocoa, and spicy, tannic oak. Complex and harmonious without being overwhelming. A heavy sherry bottling, absolutely spot on for me. SUMMA SUMMARUM Excellent quality, superb cask selection! A true old-school anniversary cask. An absolutely flawless sherry-dipped gem, without sulfur or excessive bitterness. yes that is superb. Goes hand in hand with the best family releases from 2018/2017. And the price is reasonable for 2025. Really awesome! Others have written enough. Check

A very dusty, ever-changing affair. It has everything you'd expect from an old whisky at this reasonable alcohol strength. The lovely raisin and fudge notes only emerge over time. So, take your time with this dram. Its age is undeniable, evident in the woody notes and the mocha hints on the finish.

An incredible Glenfarclas that got better with every watering...

I'm a little surprised by the very good reviews; for me, it's unfortunately not worth the 90p mark. It's far too oaky and woody-spicy on the finish. It reminds me more of a good Baco Armagnac, were it not for that hint of Glenfarclas' bakery. Water makes it more palatable, but not necessarily better. Frankly, I'm disappointed at this price...

An excellent sherry cask that never feels overpowered. Finally, you get the feeling of having an old, well-matured single malt in your glass. I'd love to see more of this in the future.

Nose: grapey, liqueur-like, fantastic. Palate: Sweet, astringent, liqueur-like, earthy, lots of oak/bitterness. Finish: slightly bitter (leads to a lower rating). I can understand that connoisseurs who love intense oak spice/bitterness appreciate this whisky with its undeniably lovely aromas. Personally, I'm not so fond of the recurring bitterness and find it somewhat bothersome. Therefore, this leads me to lower my score from 91-92 points to 89.5. Even for the 90 points that a whisky must have at least on my rating scale to be purchased, it unfortunately falls short in today's overall assessment.

Lots of wood (very dry) and alcoholic harshness. For its age and price, it's not for me.

Glenfarclas 1990, what could possibly be better? Unfortunately, not this one! To put it simply, this whisky is a complete disappointment! I have just one very direct question... why any 93 points?
