В аромате доминируют тёмный шоколад, какао, эспрессо и мокко, дополненные жареными орехами и лесным орехом, поджаренным дубом, пряностями и выпечкой (крем-карамель, шоколадный бисквит, тирамису), а на фоне — сухофрукты (изюм, чернослив), цитрусовая цедра, ваниль и тёмный сахар; фруктовость лёгкая и мимолётная, требует времени и воздуха. Вкус мягкий, кремовый, обволакивающий, с горько-сладким балансом: снова кофе, шоколадный торт, орехи, злаки, дубовые танины, немного персика и апельсина. Послевкусие средне-длинное, кремово-ореховое, с молочным кофе, шоколадом и завершающей нотой тирамису; хвалят насыщенность, слоистость и текстуру.
Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток чуть выше и подчёркивают гармоничность и, возможно, большую сбалансированность в сравнении с обычным Signet, тогда как часть остальных критикует одномерность, водянистость во вкусе, шероховатую кофейную резкость и завышенную цену при слабой фруктовости. Расхождения невелики: оценки плотно сгруппированы в диапазоне 87–92 вокруг среднего около 88, так что согласованность высокая, а профиль воспринимается всеми одинаково — вопрос лишь в том, считать ли выраженную кофейно-шоколадную направленность достоинством или ограничением.

"The stout of the whisky world, it tastes like coffee!" Glenmorangie's master distiller is known to have made whisky using chocolate malt, which is blackened malt like stout. Similar to stout, this is a very characteristic whisky in which coffee-like notes survive in the distilled liquor. It seems to have been developed by slightly modifying a case where a new experimental attempt at the time produced successful results. A whisky reminiscent of espresso or ristretto made with good beans, with a rich and sour fruity aroma and aroma of mocha coffee and chocolate. A slight downside is that it sometimes has a rough feel like coffee.

Official notes: AROMA Deep and powerful aromas. Dark chocolate sponge cake and intense espresso coffee. As the nose develops, more coffee and chocolate flavours mix with hazelnut cream, orange zest and muscovado sugar. TASTE A big mouthcoating whisky with a texture that coats the tastebuds from the first sip. Chocolate truffles, toffee, treacle and fudge. Then notes of Turkish coffee and roasted coffee beans. Some toasted cinnamon emerges mixing with orange oil, citrus, milk chocolate raisins, then raspberry. FINISH Incredibly complex flavours of coffee and chocolate develop in the lengthy finish. More creamy toffee eventually finishes in the familiar flavour of tiramisu.

It's very layered, from cherry, dates, coffee, chocolate, and lots of cacao. Chocolate truffle, obviously
Before I even drank it, I had the feeling that it wouldn't be that different from the normal Signet. And unfortunately, that turned out to be true. It has even less fruit, but the coffee chocolate is even stronger. Basically, this is a good bottling, but it is far too expensive and too one-dimensional for what it has to offer.
