Хересная выдержка с солёно-сладким характером — солёная карамель, сушёные фрукты, вишня, шоколад и кожа при солодовой основе, а не насыщенный херес. Опытные ставят сдержаннее (87–88), остальные восторженнее (90–92); спорная нота серы одних смущает, другим добавляет сложности.

В аромате — сушёные фрукты (апельсины, сливы, вишня, изюм, клубника), марципан, солёная карамель, шоколад, кожа, жжёный солод и характерная бензиновая нота, с оттенками серы и минеральности; вода раскрывает больше фруктов и пряности. Вкус полнотелый, где солёное и сладкое переплетены: красные фрукты, кленовый сироп, тёмный шоколад, изюм и абрикос на солодово-дубовой основе с заметной пряностью и лёгкой серной «спичечной» ноткой. Послевкусие длинное, сухое, пряное и тёплое, с солёной карамелью, сушёной вишней, инжиром, травами и возвращающимся хересом; напиток заметно улучшается за час в бокале.
Оценки согласованы в узком коридоре 87–92, но акценты расходятся. Опытные ревьюеры сдержаннее (87–88): один подробно фиксирует серу, минеральность и оценивает виски как несложный и легко пьющийся, хотя гармоничный. Остальные щедрее (90–92), описывая вкус как насыщенный, слоистый и мощный, с обилием шоколада, сливок и сушёных фруктов; один из них называет его одним из лучших в своём опыте. Ключевое расхождение — трактовка серы от не полностью чистой бочки: для части дегустаторов это недостаток, для других она не доминирует и лишь усложняет профиль. Общее согласие: это солодово-ориентированный виски с солёно-морским оттенком, а не хересная бомба.

After over 600 whiskies: One of the best whiskies I have ever drunk. The worthy successor to the Feis 21 single cask. Funnily enough, both are 17y Sherry 2nd fill. Very harmonious and beautiful sherry, not woody, you have to drink it. First smell it, then dilute it and then enjoy.

That's great! Rich, complex, layered flavor. It's very impactful! Lots of chocolate, cream, dried fruit mixed together, salty and sweet, very delicious!

This is like a piece of salted caramel. From the nose you get caramely sherry. It's full bodied with more red fruits, caramel and sherry. It's not a completely clean cask, so you get some nice sulphury notes, but they never dominate and only add to complexity. I'd give this one at least an hour in the glass, it improves the more time it has. Odor: Marzipan, dark cherry, leather, plum, burnt malt. Salted caramel, chocolate, and dried fruit. A sip of water adds more fruit and a spiciness. Taste: Spicy and sweet. Wood, barley malt, and fresh wheat bread. Raisins, dark honeycomb, apricot. Cherries and malt, a very characterful whisky. A long finish. Herbal and oak aromas are evident in the aftertaste. Sherry also comes through nicely. Absolutely fantastic!
