Молодой (5 лет) торфяной Kilchoman, выдержанный в бочках из-под хереса фино: солёно-дымный, ореховый, медово-цитрусовый профиль. Заметный шаг вперёд относительно релиза 2020 года, хотя вкус многие называют сбалансированным, но не захватывающим.

В аромате — свежий морской дым и пепел (будто костёр залили дождём), минеральная свежесть, влажный торф, скошенная трава и сено, зелёные пряности, а следом сладость: лесной орех, молочный шоколад с солью, солёная карамель, цитрусы (лимон, ананас, грейпфрут) и лёгкая дубовая нотка, хорошо вписанный спирт. Вкус маслянисто-кремовый, медово-ванильный, с солью, копчёными орехами, дублёной карамелью и щепоткой пряностей (корица, чёрный и белый перец, имбирь), к которым добавляется дубовая горчинка и кислинка зелёного яблока. Послевкусие среднее-долгое, солёно-дымное, ореховое, с вересковым мёдом, смолой и пепельной сухостью, у некоторых — терпко-«зелёное», незрелое. Опытные ревьюеры ставят стабильно высоко (84–88) и отмечают удачную сочетаемость торфа с фино, сдержанную, но гармоничную дымность; один из самых авторитетных особо хвалит ореховость и солоноватость. Основные претензии — от менее опытных: слабый, едва уловимый аромат, недостаток остроты и молодость спирта, из-за чего виски «хорош, но не для покупки бутылки». Расхождение есть и по сравнению с релизом 2020 года: часть авторов считает эту версию явным улучшением и «эталонным Kilchoman», другие ставят её ниже предыдущей, находя влияние фино странноватым для хереса. В целом оценки согласованы и плотно держатся в диапазоне 83–88.

Slightly older than the last Kilchoman Fino of 2020 at five years old, the age sounds just as good on the tongue. Fino goes well with Kilchoman in terms of taste, I'm curious how older Kilchoman will do in Fino Casks. (Kilchoman Feis Ile Tasting 06/01/2023)

Light golden colour. Oily structure.
Нос 87 Short sour notes at the beginning. citrus. Then lots of nuts. Hazelnut. Sweet nuts. Some salt, but relatively little for a Kilchoman. Sweetness. Milk chocolate with nuts and salt. Nuts again. Dessert chocolate. Citrus comes out again. After some time, some herbal notes came out. And finally the peat came out. But relatively gentle. It is possible that it is a matter of another Kilchoman that we have just tasted.

Clear noticeable improvement on the first Fino release - never thought that an extra year in the barrel would make so much difference. Very balanced and deliciously drinkable.
Нос 86 Fresh and slightly mineral, playful, ashy maritime smoke, very sweet and malty, subtle nut aromas and a good pinch of salt, lemon and a hint of pineapple, some oak can already be felt, but it is quite subtle and, like the alcohol, very good incorporated into the other aromas.
Вкус 85 very nice, with honey sweetness and vanilla, lemon slices with salt, caramel, smoked malt, subtle warming alcohol and some oak pepper. Not very exciting, but a really well balanced flavor that delivers exactly what you want in a Fino Aged Kilchoman. Yummy!
Финиш 85 medium long - here again lemon, salt, campfire smoke, pleasant sweetness and subtly bitter oak. The salt, smoke and dry wood notes linger a long time. It's fun and thirsty for the next sip.

Unsurprisingly, the nose is dry Sherry, with white fruits and olives, some vegetal notes, and behind it a broad and moist peat, rocky and salty. Undergrowth, reeds, a grapefruit zest. Asphalt. Quite austere on the palate, but full, on pear and cooked apples. A hint of caramel, the spices are discreet, but a little exotic. ginger, cardamom, pepper. Pine needles. Long, successful, forest finish, resin, humus, heather, ashes and charcoal. Shortbread cookies. I liked this one less than the previous edition of 2020. And besides, I'm not the only one, it is less well rated on Whiskybase. Yet he is older and stronger in alcohol. Magnificent, simply a benchmark Kilchoman! There are a couple of points. The wine moment is tracked very poorly, but this is a systematic problem with Ayla with such a brutal facade. There are too many watercolors and gouache in the taste. 22 22 22 22

It is a good whisky, but unfortunately the term "good" starts from the taste to the finish. The aroma is not very noticeable at all, for me it looks average. It's a pity, because the rest is at a decent level. It's good that the alcohol doesn't hit you, because it's quite it would be weak. I tried the drams, I definitely wouldn't buy the bottle.

Kilchoman brings a lot of different bottlings onto the market every year, it's a bit difficult to keep track of them all. This is a bottling from 2023 that matured in Fino Sherry Casks. 20 Fino Sherry Butts were bottled, in which the whisky matured for at least five years. Five years is not a lot, the whisky is young. The color is golden yellow and relatively light. glen-efze.de

Нос 88 Fresh (literally) smoke, as if a bonfire was extinguished by a light summer rain, dew in the grass, fragrant hay, fresh green spices - lovage and dill. We keep looking, kitchen sweetness, slightly spicy, again plants - birch syrup, apricot, quince, grilled pineapple, tea with chamomile.
Вкус 88 Creamy, honey, vanilla - sounds boring, so let's expand, there is a slightly dry advocat, grapefruit, salty caramel, peanut butter, occasional aftertaste of dandelion bitterness, mead - moderately sweet. The longer it gets sour, green unripe apples, blackthorn. I haven't mentioned the smoke yet, so far it's probably the most balanced and moderately smoky Kilchoman I've ever drank, which doesn't mean that the ppm is missing here, not at all. They were either limited for this distillery, or dominated by the barrel.
Финиш 87 Medium long or long, tart, "green", immature, sorrel, salted peanuts, sour peat, lime soda, apple cider vinegar.

Финиш 85 Mediocre, but with a lingering smokiness on the cheeks, becoming drier overall and somewhat ashy.

For a 100% Fino Sherry matured Kilchoman, this is rounder than I would’ve expected, not dry at all. Put emphasis on the coastal smoke. Fruits are light and delicate.

87.50 Nose: fresh and slightly mineral, milky sweet and salty, Werters Original candies, ash, sea smoke, and malt, a lot of nuts and salt, citrus fruits, lemons, pineapple, very nicely arranged alcohol. Taste: very pleasant, slightly oily, creamy, honey, sweet vanilla, slightly nutty and salty, caramel, smoked nuts, slightly warming, pepper on the tongue, dry citrus fruits, pomelo, grapefruit. Finish: pleasant and long-lasting, exceptionally nutty, slightly salty toffee, salty sea smoke, salted caramel, spices, a bit of cinnamon, orange peel.
