В аромате отмечают карамель, ирис, ваниль и мёд поверх свежих садовых фруктов — яблоко, банан, абрикос, цитрус, — с травянистыми, меловыми и минеральными оттенками, а также лёгкой сладостью; часть авторов ловит нотку хлора («водопроводная вода») и ацетона. Вкус маслянистый и сладкий: солод, карамель, печенье, грецкий орех, печёное яблоко с гладким имбирным теплом и чёрным перцем. Послевкусие среднее, пряно-перечное, у одних — впечатляюще долгое для восьмилетки, у других тонкое, короткое и жгучее с горчинкой. Хвалят выразительную фруктовую сладость, округлую маслянистую текстуру и соотношение цена–качество как достойный дебют молодой винокурни. Критикуют молодость и шероховатость, слабое проявление хересной бочки, несбалансированность и заметный спиртовой напор при 46%, а нескольких смущает цена около 90 евро. Опытные ревьюеры настроены сдержаннее (81–86, вплоть до замечаний о горьком финале и неубедительности для восьмилетнего возраста), тогда как остальные чаще ставят 87; в целом оценки согласованы вокруг 85–87, с редкими низкими баллами (71, 75) от разочарованных.

The first whiff is loaded with chlorine, like UK tap water. There's some nice bourbon wood spices, but overall I'm not convinced by this dram. It's 8yo after all, not 3 like most other inaugurals. Also rather bitter finish.

Нос 85 Slightly sweet, pleasant. Loads of caramel. Toffee. Fudge. Vanilla. Barley malt. Then fresher fruits appear. Orchard fruit. Floral notes. Fresh grass. Meadow. Flowers. A hint of spice.

Another beautiful Ballindalloch bottling with its typical chalky, malty, and fruity notes of banana, vanilla, and apricot. The finish is truly impressive for an 8-year-old whisky.

Very decent whisky with a lot of sweetness, fruit notes. Delicate in aroma, expressive in taste, with a long spicy finish

Ballindalloch is one of the young Speyside distilleries setting new standards. Here, it's not about quantity, but about producing exceptional whisky. The barley is grown on their own estate, the distillery uses worm tubs, and the whiskies are only bottled when they are perfectly mature. This exclusive UK bottling is around 9 years old and comes from a first-fill bourbon barrel and a first-fill sherry butt. It has a light golden color. In spring 2026, this bottling will still be available in select UK shops for around £90. glen-efze.de

For Ballindalloch’s first core release, the Ballindalloch 2015 Vintage Release, Aged 8 Years at 46% ABV is a nice debut for one of the smallest distilleries in Speyside. While not an amazing dram, this is a bottle I could see myself adding to my collection as a starter bottle for the evening with friends. It’s got a nice tart-sweet apple and cider nose with hints of honey. The sherry cask influence feels not very present, but the apple plum filling, smooth, warming ginger heat that balances out the sweetness, with a subtle wooden backbone makes this a pleasant way to start the evening. A commendable debut for Ballindalloch Distillery.
Нос 70 Tart-sweet red apples, apple juice, cider. Honey notes start to appear. Slight acetone notes even after resting for 20 minutes. Tart plum notes rise up later.
Вкус 73 Medium mouthfeel and viscosity. Fragrant gingered apple compote. Manuka honey. There’s a beautiful smooth ginger heat that is completely even and nicely balanced (no prickly spikes). Just a gentle warming smooth heat that fades gently by mid-palate and finish. 2nd Dram: Apple plum pastry filling, with gentle notes of Manuka honey in the background. The smooth ginger is still here, and quite pleasant, balancing out the sweetness of the malt. Light woodiness appears by mid-palate to help add structure.
Финиш 71 Medium. Gingered tart-sweet apples with a very smooth fade. Light, old wooden notes go hand-in-hand with the malt and fruity notes.

My first Ballindalloch. Great citrus notes on the nose. Accompanied by a mineral note. Bananas in the mouth. Also beautifully round and light. A distillery I'll have to keep an eye on. I was totally won over!

Финиш 84 this was the weak link; the finish was thin, short, and hot.
