Aroma-Pronounced;Palate-90/100; Aftertaste-Med-Long;
Perfectly balanced, whole, balanced whisky, deep, rich in shades and half tones, for a calm and thoughtful use, such a meditative one and even splashes of cardboard and dust do not spoil it.

Yellow fruits like mandarin oranges, peaches, roasted lemons. Hint of buttercream frosting and newly scraped vanilla bean. Not very bold or bright, but this is quite complex with some tertiary aromas. Boiling caramelized sugar. |

Very warming, peppery, slight saltiness. A bit maritime in fact. Talisker-like. The palate is rich with sweet citrus, young honeydews, and a good oaky backbone. |

Moderate length. The fruits and sweetness didn't stay long. |
Aroma: aromatically fruity, very appealing, with yellow fruits and a hint of exoticism, vanilla, blossom honey, oak and a minimal hint of smoke. Perfectly integrated alcohol. Asks for salivation before trying. * Open a few drops of water and make it appear fruity, but a while in the glass also works and is preferable. Taste / finish: the first sip: warm with a light start and tingling, fruity-spicy, at first still sweet with some exotic fruits, lightly perfumed, then delicately tart with oak, slightly astringent, soft at first with delicate tart oak notes becoming slightly dry, then slightly sweetish .

This Bruichladdich must definitely breathe a few minutes before he can fully exploit his old elegance. Intense tropical fruits, honey sweetness, subtle peat and tart wood elements, this Bruichladdich is extremely complex and complex. A great and elegant drop. I like it very much! While I write my conclusion, the departure just starts its afterburner! The harsh, peaty and fruity oak notes return ....

In any case, I like Bruichladdich and how can I actually attach an unbiased opinion to the lapel on such a malt? This is really big cinema, without question. A fantastic malt, which surpasses the very strong Golder Still again. A wonderful interaction of various flavors, alone the nose is an absolute treat and I'm glad to drink this malt.
Baked apples, pineapple, an old bookshelf, lemon, vanilla sauce, creamy and nutty on the palate, oak spice, dark honey, a touch of pepper, dark chocolate; the lemon transforms into grapefruit in the finish. This malt offers much to discover and is overall a beautifully balanced dram that doesn't hide its age. Delicious!
Citrusy and coastal, I pictured lemonade and coconuts on the deck of a beachside bungalow. Sea shells and coastal brine infused the air with a peppery minerality, while parched seagrass and number two pencils completed the impression sketching dunes under wispy clouds in the early evening. A peculiar set of notes, but anyone who has taken a coastal walk along the dunes on a cloudy evening will recognize it right away— especially if you collected sea shells and driftwood. With time, old comic books and papers arrived with a touch of floral incense and cream. Medium-bodied, the flavor profile was woody and fruity, still coastal, but with more clearly defined tropical fruits, mostly bitter orange and pineapple, among the peppery brine and sandy minerals. As the dram rested, I found more driftwood and pencils to accompany old comic books and hints of plumeria (I was less lost among the dunes on the palate). The finish was medium to long and oily with peppery brine, soft driftwood, and lemon peel. Wow— I expected this to be good, but I did not expect it to be this good. I enjoyed my prior experiences with 1980s Bruichladdich, the 1984 vintage was wonderful, but that was about it— they were good, but not always remarkable. Certainly not the level where I thought they justified the price or hype. Perhaps I had the right expectations coming into this whisky; there was no hype man telling me how amazing this was going to be, and as usual I did not bother checking reviews until I had already written up my thoughts. I loved the coastal aroma, the fruity profile, and the tinge of spirited pepper that provided some liveliness to the whisky— in fact, if there was any major difference with this whisky, it was how alive it still felt. Overall, wonderful stuff.

Shortly after I pour half the dram onto my sweater while swirling the glass, the first sweet fruit notes are in the air. Yellow fruits, baked apples, cinnamon and sugar, pineapple, tropical fruits, wood, spices and sea air blend into a complex aroma portrait that you can marvel at for a long time. His age is to be acknowledged without appearing tired in any way. |

At first creamy with a compact fruitiness, followed by intense spices and chilli, light wood and orange jam. Again and again, slightly sour notes flash out with grapefruit. Dark chocolate and a small hint of smoke are particularly noticeable at the end. |

Citrus fruits with chocolate cake and oak are rounded off by spices and espresso. A medium-long and slightly dry finish. |

Great nose ... nice and strong ... very nice
nose: sweet fruit, riped mangos mangosteen, lychee, damp wood, woodspice, mint and perfume, mouth: drywood, crisp, clean flavors, mid to thick mouth fill, finish: mid to long bomb sweet finish, creamy, lychee, buttery
Fantastic! My best dram I ever had.
Really great dram, perfect for a summer evening by the sea
The name DNA fits, this is the archetype of a Bruichladdich. Anyone who has ever tasted one, will find his memories here again. This malt is a revelation. If you do not believe that everything was better in the old days, you should try this 1985 treasure. Is he worth the crazy price? Yes.

First, one wonders if this whisky is actually 27 years old. The aroma is surprisingly fresh, floral, with hints of yellow fruit, kiwi, quite citrus notes. Significantly malty, hay and then he comes, the Bruichladdich-typical musty washcloth, this (great) aroma after a fermented pool, laundry, beach and sea air. |

Strong start, very little water closes him. Sweetness, biscuit, honey, malt, mango, papaya, only the much-vaunted pineapple is missing here. Then oak, more precisely bright wall unit, pine furniture. Distinct spice, salt, sea. |

Here the age is finally beating. Astringent, oak, salty caramel. The wood accompanies you for a long time. That's how a balmy summer evening tastes, fantastic! |
