If you attempted to knock up a wgisky near to a cess pit using odds and edns found in the back of your cupboard you might end up with an approximation of this. Worth trying for giggles, but if you pay for this you're almost as bonkers as the dram itself.

Sour is the main note - there is a citrus note which I think is lemon, but almost as if it had been preserved in brine. There is also a note of manure. |

The mouthfeel is thin - almost watery. The taste is quite strange with more sour notes notes coming through - like a lemon pie that has been dropped on the floor. Almost like a home brew version of a whisky. |

Quite short - the bafflement lasts longer than the actual dram. |

[February, 2007] Together with friends I emptied a bottle that I bought for 41 Euro in February, 2007. This is one bottling out of six for a special millennium edition intended for sale to Allied employees only but as it was rather weakish a lot of bottles found their way into specialist retail shops for quite a lot of money back then (150 Deutschmark = 77 Euro in mid 2000). [September, 2009] Together with friends I emptied another bottle that I bought for 37,50 Euro in February, 2007. [December, 2010] Together with friends I emptied another bottle that I bought for 41 Euro in February, 2007.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 82,5. My notes state a nice sherry profile but with quite some flaws. As there were not many better Imperial bottlings out there I usually served this one to visitors and friends. But why bottled Allied such flawed stuff for their employees?
Intriguing at nose with predominant taste of yellow melon and hints of peat. At mouth there is a sensation of custard with lot of oranges although is a bit light Medium long finish, sweet and peated

Again a nice Imperial, but far from imperial power, more of a nice, fruity-spicy early summer dram.

What? Old bottle flavour like a Dimple 12 from the 1970s, I wouldn't have expected that, with fermented apples, rotten lemons and very old honey (antique). Nothing against OBF, but there's not much else to it. |

In the mouth it turns towards fruit salad with honey (fresher this time), pleasantly balanced by gentle tannins. Lemon curd on top, done. |

Well, that's it, the impression on the palate lingers a little longer, a splash of lemon is added, and then it's finito. |
Body; thin but smooth. Falls away somewhat.
Refreshing malty, very pleasant. Honey sweet and well spicy (gingerbread). Long and well warming, spicy finish.
Color - bright golden yellow; Nose - alcoholic sharp, oak, some vanilla, grain, a hint of grapes; Taste - a touch too spicy, then sweet with vanilla (from the second sip), followed by grappa, very straightforward and unpretentious, without a lot of frills, a lot of matrix without a lot of characteristics, but strong; Finish - warms for a long time down the entire esophagus
Delicate with refreshing notes throughout, a hint of spice lingers in the background, which is then supported by cinnamon and even more refreshing flavors like citrus. To finish, the noted sherries are balanced by hints of oak, all in all a pleasant tasting whisky.

Thick, rounded sweet cream, smoke, malt, plenty of nuts, dried wood, a hint of rusty sweetness and hollow fruitiness from the Obe, and a touch of plasticity. |

It's sweet, a little prickly, and still has that light citrus flavor after the obé, but you can detect some metallic notes. |

Smoked, malt, wood, bitter |
I was lucky enough to run into this whisky in a whisky bar. Very nice to be able to taste something from Imperial. The whisky was mostly fruity and buttery. Not very complex but very tasty.
Just weird for today's tastes. Industrial - but so sweet and fruity. Really like this. N: Super Funky. Sour Fruit. Old Rubber. Fermenting Apples. Old Grapes. Quite Wine-y. Challenging... P: Industrial. Oily. Medicinal.... Sweet. Esters. Pears. Honey.... Soap. F: Pear Drops. Dries. Menthol. Medium Length. Industrial Notes Return.
A nice whisky, but not that easy. It definitely doesn't justify today's prices, but apart from that I like it because it's definitely not mainstream. Fruity, sour, tart, rotten... It's got everything. But you have to like it.

First impression: sour. Lemon But then more and more comes. Apple, pear, grapes, fermented fruit, dust and a little alcohol. |

In the mouth, light fruits at first, sweet. But then it quickly becomes tart, but not bitter. Not a typical light ex-BC summer whisky. Rather a bit heavier. Grapefruit with lemon and coffee. |

The finish is rather tart, sometimes even bitter. The mouth becomes dry. A coating remains on the tongue and palate. Interesting... |
The fragrance is that of red dates, but the overall taste is too poor.
