N- Brandy soaked cherry at the front, follow by toffee and toasted malt. Evolved to marine cold stone mineral and touch of mossy, decay notes of salted fish. Heat build up overtime with spices coated dried fruits. P- Creamy and oat meal sweetness. Well married with soft and balance flavours. Roasted coffee bean with sweet dates. Frizzy soda. Dry mouthfeel but lightly spirity. F- Smooth and thick, bristling sensation expands to fresh oak and woody aroma of new book. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

- very pleasant and good quality blend - balanced, slightly smoky and tasty rounded off with a nice warm mid-length departure - unfortunately it was taken off the market and through in 2016 replaced his successor (but he didn't get to the quality)
A mature, very neat blended malt!
This remains quite an impressive bottling of JW. Very well balanced, especially on the nose. Glad I still have two bottles of a similar batch on hand.

I like this Johnnie Walker because it comes with a calm smoke and spice mixture, which, together with a slightly fruity oiliness, characterizes the balance of a successful blended malt. Can be used without any problems for uncomplicated drinking enjoyment. :)

S 8 Balanced, complex, rich & creamy despite at 43%. Exceptional blend. Feels more Talisker & Caol Ila than the Pure Malt/Modern Label. Colour: Sauternes 08. Light legs. 86-90 - A to-share bottle

Sour green apples. Sweet malt. Orchard fruit basket (lemons, apples, peaches, mangos). Fairly peppery. Only a whiff of coastal peat smoke from a far distance. Zesty lemon peels. Lemon Bakewell tarts. Honey-drizzled malt. Toffee. Milk chocolate. |

From the point of view of the PLV, this is a buy recommendation. You also lose the impression that it is just a blend. Peppery smoke reminiscent of Talisker. Just noticed :-)
Subtle and beautifully balanced.

The finish is more aromatic. Citrus fruits and apples, but also some sherry influence with raisins, coffee and tannins. A slight 'industrial' vibe appears, with a bit of coal smoke. A versatile and enduring finish! |

15 different single malts are to be united here, including Talisker and Cragganmore. For me it is flat with little character. An easy-to-drinking vatted malt (or better blended single malt)
A very nice blend. Especially for the money. Reminds me a lot of oldschool blends.
I like this older version of the 15 better, although it is not a revelation either. But in terms of taste, nose and palate are balanced. Significantly better in the oral cavity. The finish also harmonizes better with the taste. Quite round and balanced.

This Johnnie Walker is quite complex copared to the Red and Black Label. The version (2012) seems more mature and got more different fruits in its charakter compared to the 2015 version. The 2015 version got more smoke and pepper on the palate but isn't quite as fruity. Though it's neck and neck. And for the money a lot of good whisky.Concerning price/performance ratio: 10/10
Lovely orchard fruits combine with toffee, butter, grass, spices, old wood, earth and a hint of tobacco to create a delicious whisky. There is a whiff of peat in the distance as well. Quite creamy despite the strength. Works best with one or two tiny drops of water. It will be interesting to see how more recent incarnations compare, but I am thoroughly enjoying this bottle.

Each distillery truly has its own distinct character, yet its homogeneity remains intact. Cragganmore, with its apples and subtle hints of sulfur. Old Taliskers, with their hints of sulfur and elegant maritime flavor. Caol Ila, with its light smoke, Linkwood, with its elegant florals. The sherry influence seems more intense than the newer ones. I wish they'd release this one unfiltered and at 46% ABV, so whisky lovers could relax! Price performance: Probably considered very good at the time, but average-good today. Would I buy it again?: If it hadn't been a gift, this was definitely a bottle I would have sought out and bought.

Very waxy, like Clynelish. Red apple and green apple. It has the sulfur I crave. Nicely toasted cinnamon and cardamom. Nectarine. Celery. A satisfying maltiness. Some stale yellow fruit. A bit of acetone. A roasty edge, similar to cocoa and reminiscent of coffee. Charcoal. Pleasant nose! |

Beautiful ash. Perfumed woods. Cherrywood. Roses and daisies; the flowers are mostly present at the finish. A beautiful, ember-like edge. Cardamom. Absolutely no flaws. Apples and trailing esters are here until the end. Medium-short in length. |
A quality whisky despite it’s reputation as a supermarket blend. Nice and fruity, woody, malt cereals, Sherried notes of chocolate milk, crispy apples, a perfect calibration whisky to get the evening going. The earlier bottles according to Ralphy appear to have better quality casks than later versions. I find the combination of quality malts works for me.
Really loved this, and it shows how great it is to taste blind from time to time to take away any prejudice. This was definitely the surprise of the evening for me. Full of flavour despite the 43% (imagine this was bottled at 46 or 48!). Everybody thought Speyside, 15-20 years old but the smoke at the back end of the palate threw a lot of people off, including me.

A dessert of persimmon coated generously in unrefined sugar. Additional Note When first opened, the bottle showed strong rotten-fruit and cheesy off-notes (mostly on the nose and somewhat on the palate), raising concerns about a potential fault. After two months of opening, all such off-notes have completely disappeared.

A dominant juicy sweetness of Asian pear—very ripe and reminiscent of pear nectar—accompanied by overripe red apples and unrefined sugar. Digging deeper reveals plenty of lychee and green apple, along with vanilla, a light dusting of black pepper, and damp earth. Subtle pepper notes and a very restrained woodsmoke glide through gently, while traces of orange pulp and wet newspaper sit quietly underneath. For a whisky of this age, the juicy fruitiness is unexpectedly vivid, made even more attractive by the unrefined sugar sweetness, rich vanilla, and pepper touches. |

A burst of ripe, juicy persimmon and Asian pear spreads across the palate initially. The persimmon sweetness continues as unrefined sugar joins in, supported by straightforward black pepper, medium-roast coffee, roasted barley, and gentle woodsmoke. Rolling it in the mouth reduces the persimmon slightly while roasted barley and unrefined sugar carry through. Hints of raw egg yolk (lightly savory), faint dry wood, the slight bitterness of persimmon skin and kudzu root, and a fallen-leaf nuance emerge. While not entirely free of off-notes, there is zero alcoholic harshness at 43%, and the whisky never feels weak. A pleasing sweetness forms the core, with complementary nuttiness and bitterness providing excellent balance. |

Retronasally, ripe persimmon and malt syrup lead, supported by Asian pear, medium-roast coffee, Fuji apple, and very faint smoke. In the mouth, pleasant sweetness—like ripe sweet persimmon with a sprinkle of unrefined sugar—forms the core. Vanilla, black pepper, and roasted barley follow, with touches of woodsmoke and even dried squid. Retronsal strength is somewhat lacking, but the palate finish is quite assertive and the note composition is excellent. |

I am actually pleasantly surprised. This is a pretty nice blend. Perhaps my favourite so far along with Compass Box Spice Tree. A good blend.
A mellow and extremely easy going blend. Characters of the distiller as stated on the box (Caol Ila, Talisker, Linkwood) are not really apparent. Quite a watered down version of 3 distilleries if I must say so. Nonetheless, a decent blend for daily drinking.
This whisky matches the color of its label, but not my taste, offering a rather woody and bitter profile.
JW Green Label, blended/vatted malt whisky: This one is being discontinued in most countries. For me it`s not that I am going to miss it. It is good produced, don`t get me wrong, but I just don`t find it exciting and worth it over their other products. I think is has been blended with too many malts which makes it available for the wide public, but very flat in flavour. Nothing realy stands out. In my humble opinion, although blended scotch (with grain) the Black and Gold Label (try to find the old Gold 18 yo) are more exciting from JW. If you are looking specifically for blended malt whisky I can recommend Compass Box. They produce some great malt blend whiskies (and blended Scotch) for around the same budget.
I have been on the hunt for JW Green Label for a while, scouring the stores and mom and pop places. Well yesterday while sitting in a restaurant, my eyes peered upon a bottle and I though "no.. can't be" and sure enough it was a bottle of Johnny Walker Green Label 3/4 full. I asked if I could buy the entire bottle and got it for 25,000 colones ($45.00) I was excited that I have finally found a JW Green and proceeded to pour everyone at the table a wee dram to give it a try. The entire table loved it. Last night I then had my first real taste after warming up the tongue with some Grant's Special Ale Cask edition. Nose - Fruit, spices, vanilla, caramel, maple syrup, hint of peat. Taste - Leather, peat, pear.. lots of pear, apple, malt, cereal, fruit, pepper, earthy Body - Good body and has some good legs on the glass. Finish - an earthy peaty finish that dissipates into a apple pear then closes with a ham maple syrup lingering. I have to say that I REALLY enjoy JWGreen Label. My wife and I sat out last night and watched the sun go down and both went well together. It is exciting to finally get to try this and I feel like I have accomplished a treasure hunt in finding this open bottle. It also feels special to be able to drink a brand that is no longer made and one appreciates it so much more because of that. I will continue to keep my eyes open for bottles at bars and restaurants and continue being the "dusty hunter" looking for the un-opened bottle of Johnny Walker Green Label. If you ever find an opened bottle, snag it. If you ever find a un-opened bottle, save it for a very special occasion with dear friends and family.

I'm so lucky I live in Taiwan where this is still readily available everywhere for only around $25USD (no joke). I'm thinking of stockpiling some. Good idea?
For me this is a pretty straightforward 15yo ex-bourbon scotch. I don't think it's any better than, say, Glenfiddich 15, and it is more expensive/harder to source where I live (mid-Atlantic US).
