Молодой уэльский виски из мадерной бочки: яркая тропическая фруктовость (личи, цитрус, персиковые мармеладки) с пряной сладостью. Приятный и питкий, но короткое послевкусие и лёгкая металлическая горчинка — не выдающийся.

В аромате доминирует светлая кисло-фруктовая гамма — грейпфрут, ананас, дыня, цитрус и лайм, с оттенками маринованного личи и общей кремовостью; при этом чувствуется молодость и небольшая грубость, а один опытный дегустатор при слепой пробе уловил менее фруктовый профиль с забродившими ягодами, перцем, ментолом, хвоей и можжевельником, но с приятными какао-нотами. Во вкусе поначалу пряно, затем нарастает выраженная сладость и та же тропическая мармеладность (личи, тропические жевательные конфеты), почти искусственная; отмечают сильное слюноотделение, шоколад, ириску и карамель. Послевкусие короткое и слабое — из-за недолгой выдержки дуб почти не проявлен, — сухое, с ментолом, а к концу появляется лёгкая горечь и металлический привкус.
Оценки согласованы и лежат в узком диапазоне 82–87. Опытные ревьюеры чуть сдержаннее (83–86) и один из них при слепой пробе увидел более грубый, менее сладкий профиль; остальные щедрее хвалят фруктовую сладость. Общий вердикт единодушен: вкусный, хорошо интегрированный по спирту образец, показывающий потенциал уэльской винокурни, но не выдающийся из-за молодости и короткого послевкусия.

-Blind tasting- With this nose, I first thought of a Mackmyra from a wicked barrel - but if I'm honest, I have absolutely no idea about it.
| Нос | 84 | Fermented berries, pepper, menthol - and a note that I can't really assign. Go towards green branches and freshly felled conifer. Maybe with a few juniper berries underneath. Looks youthful and a bit rough, but has very pleasant cocoa notes in addition to the fermented fruits. |
| Вкус | 83 | Strong start with lots of chocolate, toffee and caramel. Very dry, the fruits have disappeared from the nose. Menthol comes up and lays on the tongue. |

Delicious, sweet and tasty. The emerging spiciness represents a harmonious counterpart to the extreme fruit sweetness. Not a high-flyer, but as already mentioned, extremely tasty and tasty ... 22/22/22/21 (87P)

Hach, yes Jim Murray was extremely impressed by this whisky in 2019 and voted it the best single cask in Europe in his bible. The bottling was only intended for Germany and was allowed to mature in an ex-Madeira cask. I expect an extreme fruit bomb, especially since the spirit of Penderyn already brings a lot of fruitiness and the bottlings are still very young. He will probably not get 96.5 points from me. Still, I really like the style of the distillery. Despite almost 60% in the nose, not strongly alcoholic but noticeably. As expected, very fruity. Pickled litchi at the Chinese around the corner. Lots of citrus notes, sour, lime juice. Mixed pickled fruit salad from these aluminum tin cans. Subtle hints of wood and leatheriness. Quite spicy in the mouth at the beginning, but very sweet but not so much vanilla but nice and fruity. That lychee taste again, almost a bit artificial, Haribo Tropifrutti. Very salivary. In the finish this gummy bear tropical mix again. Then slowly become bitter, slightly metallic, slightly hot. Nice single cask, see what Jim Muray likes about it. Not a high-flyer (yet), but shows me that you can turn your gaze to Wales more often. 87 points.

Nice and full and quite light and sour-fruity on the nose, grapefruit, pineapple and honeydew melon, with a certain creaminess behind it. Still sour and fruity in the mouth, strongly reminiscent of peach rings, which intensify on the finish. In the end it remains relatively sweet because hardly any oak was built up due to the short maturation period. Length: 3/10 Great bright fruit bomb that shows the potential of the Welsh neighbors. Rating: B+
