В аромате доминируют кислые красные фрукты, вишня и смородина, варенье из слив и ягодный компот, к которым добавляются карамель, соевый соус, табак, корица и заметное влияние красного вина; алкоголь хорошо встроен, тело полное и плотное. Во вкусе — мощный старт, дубовая пряность и танины, вяленые вишни и сливы, тёмный шоколад, кожа, кофе и специи, послевкусие средней или большой длины с табаком, старым деревом и сливовым джемом. Хвалят за концентрацию, живость, глубину и узнаваемый характер винокурни, пробивающийся сквозь доминирующую бочку; вода почти не нужна. Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток выше и подчёркивают столкновение двух стихий — сухого красного вина и сладко-фруктового солодового спирта, отмечая гастрономичность, богатство и сложность, хотя один находит вкус и послевкусие слабее выдающегося аромата. Остальные чаще указывают на изъяны: металлически-химический, лаковый оттенок, лёгкую серу, портящую удовольствие, слишком сильные подгнивше-древесные ноты и нехватку сложности, лишь отчасти компенсированную пряностями. При этом расхождение невелико — оценки укладываются в узкий диапазон 87–91, так что общее впечатление о качестве согласовано, а спор идёт лишь о том, насколько мешают химические и сернистые дефекты.

There is pressure and fire, sour yeast tones dominating the rest. It's like I'm in a cave, and the evil sorceress is brewing her potion: a little dampness and mold are added to the dried fruits lying in the corner. Candied jam, plasticine. A bit of ink on the palate and a bright, sweet aftertaste with sealing wax.

Very vigorous and rich whisky, excellent aroma, taste/finish is not that far behind, but still not so impressive, very agile, lively, at the same time quite deep and complex.

This is an uncompromising whisky, in which two elements collide - the elements of bright, dry red wine and bright, sweet-fruity malt still distillate! The richness and density hangs in your mouth for the whole evening. A very gastronomic whisky, like the Californian wine valley itself! 22 23 22 22

In any case, very intense and concentrated. The body is also very nice and full. All in all it's pretty nice, but the somewhat rotten wood aromas are a bit too strong for me.
Нос 88 Intense sherry nose - sour, spicy, slightly fermented aromas of red fruits are also there. The alcohol is well integrated. Vanilla, pickled plums, slightly fermented cherries, red gummy bears, tobacco, caramel, soy sauce, slightly rotten wood, dates, cinnamon, raisins, cloves.
Вкус 87 Powerful at the start, well integrated alcohol, full body. Strong oak spice and red fruits. Addition of water is not necessary. Vanilla, pickled raspberries, very dark chocolate, tobacco, leather, rotten wood, rose water, grape seeds, dates, pickled cherries.
Финиш 87 Medium to long. Tobacco, dust, espresso, raspberries, old wood, pickled cherries, dried plums.

Нос 89 Nose: Red sweet and sour fruits and chemical accents. Tart red dance wine, cherry gum Fritt, red and black currant, caramel, soy sauce, wood, spices, cinnamon, wet wood. And everything would be fine, cool, cool, if not for this metallic-chemical smell. As if acid, varnish, polished metal plate. 89.50

Very rich, berry compote, tannins, plum jam, red currant, sweet pie. Very bright, energetic and cool!

later edit.. i am bringing down my initial score.. immediately after opening the bottle, the first hit had a big wow effect, with loads of bright notes, fruity, acidic and full-bodied.. it settles down to a very nice spirit with flaws.. some heavy oak notes, a lack of complexity only partially compensated by the heavy spices.. though Bladnoch truly possesses the most grand looking bottles in the whole of Scotch industry! (imo)
Нос 86 so what does it smell like, i said? cinnamon and rum said my friend who never drank whisky before.. not bad for a first timer, i said, i get ever so slightly smokey cognac and loads of rum-soaked raisins.. and freshly roasted coffee beans next to red berries jam on toast

The aroma is full, jammy, sugary, fruity and a little woody whisky. In taste, distinct woodiness and tannins, with a bit of spiciness and a distinct trace of wine barrels... It is an interesting whisky that did not disappoint me...

Very nice wine influence. Hardly noticeable alcohol, pleasant sweetness, good complexity. Despite the dominant barrel, the distillery character is always recognizable. A clear buy recommendation, especially for friends of Bladnoch.

Very good red wine finish. Nice complexity. Red fruit and some milk chocolate. Doesn't need much water. I love it.
