В аромате доминируют тропические фрукты (жареный ананас, спелые абрикосы, фруктовый коктейль), ваниль, мёд, тоффи, молочный шоколад, а также цветочно-парфюмерные и ореховые тона поверх зерновой основы; отмечают тостовый дуб и лёгкую затхлую выдержку. Вкус маслянисто-сливочный, с яблоком, ананасом, кокосом, абрикосом, солёным тёмным шоколадом, имбирём и корицей, а в глубине проступают зольно-дымный оттенок и морская солёность. Послевкусие длинное, сливочно-медовое, переходящее в тёмные фрукты, лакрицу, соль и орехи; часть авторов ценит именно эту многослойность, нехарактерную для односолодовых.
Хвалят баланс, сложность и то, что напиток раскрывается со временем, набирая фруктовость; несколько дегустаторов прямо называют это сильной стороной купажирования. Критика сводится к чрезмерной пряности во вкусе при относительно лёгком теле и к тому, что зерно выступает вперёд сильнее, чем хотелось бы для такого набора компонентов; один автор счёл образец достойным, но покупать бутылку не видит смысла. Оценки согласованы и плотно сгруппированы в диапазоне 83–91: опытные ставят от 83 до 90, остальные держатся в тех же рамках, так что заметного расхождения между авторитетными и рядовыми ревьюерами нет — общий вердикт устойчиво положительный.

Nose: grilled, caramelised ananas, dripping with honey. Canned fruit cocktail. Chocolate and a veggie/potato note. Palate: Coconut, milk chocolate, oak spices, peppered cherry. Finish: roasted oak char, long sweet and drying finish.

Very well balanced and tasty. More and more fruits after a couple of minutes. Gets better with time. The nose had notes of tea and fruits. Very nice.

"Our blending skills are amazing, right?" Personally, when I was writing a review, it was one of those bottles that was hard to put into words because it felt so many different nuances. It’s a fun whiskey that brings out the good notes while also controlling the notes that could easily come across as off-notes, so that you can feel various complex nuances. Even while drinking, the complex feelings shout out that this is the advantage of blended. Compass Box’s spec sheet lists where the various nuances come from, so it’s a whiskey that makes it even more fun to write personal notes and then refer to where similar notes come from.

A sweet scent that is a little heavier than honey and seems to be mixed with creaminess. It is also full of florality, so if it was light without creaminess, it would have felt like heather honey. The florality approaches at first like a fresh wildflower, but as you focus on the scent a little more, you feel a strong perfume-like freshness. - The creaminess mentioned above meets the bitterness, leaving a nuance of milk chocolate, and the very strong vanilla gives a feeling like banana pudding. - The fruity flavor has the strongest apple nuance, with the refreshing green apple and the slightly sweet ripe apple nuances felt at the same time. A slightly cool scent is added, and Western pear also comes to mind. The pineapple nuance is mixed in appropriately, giving a tangy feeling and a tropical fruit nuance, while the citrus of orange and lemon balances it out. - The slightly spicy mint and cinnamon notes also help balance it out, and the nutty grain powder notes are the base. Although not strong, there is a waxy note mixed in, allowing for a variety of layers. |

There is a difference in degree depending on the amount, but you can feel it at the same time. - The floral and honey-sweetness are strong, reminding me of heather honey, but there is a slightly watery, thin feeling. The sweetness is accompanied by a hazy feeling and oiliness of nuts, reminding me of toffee. The hazy feeling is mainly felt as if it came from the ashes of a firewood that had burned down, and there is a very slight smoky feeling. - The fruit has a strong nuance of ripe apple similar to the scent, with a slight pineapple nuance mixed in. There is also a slight coconut-like feeling, with a slight stone fruit nuance mixed in, which I personally think feels like an apricot. - The scent is green like grass and focuses on citrus, but it is not strong and reminds me of lime or lemongrass. - Not strong, but a little salty and creamy bitterness come together to remind you of salted dark chocolate. On the tongue, you can feel the spicy taste like ginger, and on the nose, you can feel the scent of cinnamon, completing the kick with spice. |

As the creaminess turns bitter, dark chocolate comes to mind. - As time passes, the ash and salty feeling becomes stronger, and the creamy feeling changes to the oiliness of nuts. A slight vegetable-like weak grassy scent and the nuance of overripe, mushy apples remain in the mouth. As the finish approaches the end, the savory and salty taste of MSG, as if eating seaweed soup, is strongly felt in the mouth. |

The top notes are delicate green green apple, aquatic green plants, and preserved yellow apricot. The middle part has a little bit of butter, and more of a frankincense biscuit with a familiar toasty feel. Combined with a little bit of peat in the depths, it is combined into some kind of smoked squid shreds and small dried fish that are a little salty. The honey in the mouth turns to beautiful fruit sugar, which changes quickly, and the second half is laid out by spices and smoke. The overall aroma is complex, with a bit too much spice in the mouth for me (especially since the wine is relatively light-bodied).

Really tasty blend. Musty and aged oakiness on the nose. On the palette is starts off really sweet and sugary. But on the finish it moves into darker fruits and some funkiness. You can tell there are lots of layers to this that you might not see in a typical single malt.
