В аромате преобладает густая медовая сладость — лесной и тимьяновый мёд, леденцовый сахар, марципан и орех (фундук, детский шоколад), к которым добавляются пряности (кардамон, кориандр, анис), душистый и слегка пыльный старый дуб, кленовый сироп. Несколько дегустаторов отмечают почти хересный оттенок (инжир, коричневый сахар) при бурбонной бочке, а один находит редкую для этого возраста экзотическую фруктовость — манго, ананас, кокос, апельсиновая цедра, ментол. Характерный для Benrinnes огуречно-солёный тон здесь приглушён бочкой, а маслянистая текстура тяжёлая. Вкус мягкий, кремовый и очень сладкий, с травяными нотами (тимьян, шалфей), лёгкой горчинкой дуба и цитрусовой кислинкой; спирт хорошо встроен, хотя для 24 лет напиток кому-то кажется грубоватым и требует воды. Послевкусие среднее или короткое, остаётся медовым, дубово-пряным, с ментолом и выпечкой. Опытные ревьюеры сходятся на 88–90, признавая высокое качество и опасную питкость, но критикуют недостаток фруктовости и заметной восковости, ожидаемой от Benrinnes. Самый резкий отзыв (88) упрекает виски в излишней округлости, простоте и нехватке глубины и дуба для своего возраста — «вкусный, но безликий солод». Рядовые оценки чуть щедрее и разбросаннее (87–92): восторженная 92 хвалит элегантность, воскость и бальзамический баланс, тогда как 87 отмечают необычные растворительно-кожаные ноты. В целом разброс узкий, оценки согласованы вокруг 88–89, а расхождение сводится к тому, считать ли медовую мягкость достоинством или признаком недостаточной сложности.

Нос	88	Earthy and nicely sweet-and-sour, but with the typical Benrinnes cucumber-brine character taking a backseat to the cask influence. Heavy, oily texture. Honey, marzipan, cardamom and coriander, perhaps even anise, and some rather fragrant oak. Not exactly the fruitiest ex-bourbon whisky ever, and I'm missing the more overt waxiness that Benrinnes can show, but still very high quality overall.
Вкус	88	Pretty powerful, almost a bit rough for a 24-year-old. Takes a drop (or several) of water despite already coming in at under 50 percent. Very sweet and herbal (I’m reminded of thyme honey), probably owing to the cask and its previous contents. Hugely malty and honeyed, and dangerously more-ish.
Финиш	87	Not super long, but still chock-full of honey and assorted pastries.

Spicy, elegant, waxy, long, balanced. Pure goodness. I add a friend's review from today, December 18, 2019: Atomic bomb. Nose on resins and essential, candied fruit on which apricot stands out, then pastry makes its way, never cloying, and a balsamic hint fused with honey. Masterful mouth, perfectly integrated alcohol, creamy, enveloping and coherent, return of essential notes of wood, then it expands on cream, almond and something vaguely citrusy to then recall licorice and mint and close on a delightfully balsamic finish, incredibly refreshing. Like a saw. - 5 years later very good

Нос	88	Very, very sweet direct, a bit moist, but neither dark nor light, slightly nutty like hazelnut and children's chocolate bars. Unfortunately far too little complex for its age, too little oak, too little depth and too much boring roundness. So definitely not a bad whisky, actually very tasty, but for the key data far too little for a whisky that will be remembered for a long time.
Вкус	88	Very round and creamy, again a lot of nice sweetness, even a bit of bitterness here at last. The result is again just a tasty, but arbitrary malt

nose Sweet, dignified, soft and yet powerful. Forest honey, rock sugar, slightly spicy and at the same time sweet oak. Almost a bit like a sherry maturation, but there was probably only a bourbon barrel at work if I understand the label correctly. With a little time it gets tart and spicy, although the sweetness of the honey still remains. Nice complexity and very tasty sticky. This nose knows how to please. There is more old oak, some maple syrup. With more time in the glass, more and more oak and slightly dusty wood. taste Very soft, supple, sweetly caressing the tongue - but still very aromatic and powerful aromas. So alcohol has to be perfectly integrated! It continues with the game between sweet, spicy forest honey and tart, now slightly bitter oak. Some dough and light notes of grass and fresh hay. Slight acidity of citrus fruits and again a hint of brown sugar and figs, so again a touch of sherry barrel even if that wasn't in the game. Furthermore, an extremely drinkable dram. Exit Medium-length or rather short, but otherwise continue in the same flow as before. Spicy, tart oak dominates and is surrounded by sweet forest honey. A little menthol is added and then stays in the mouth and on the palate for the longest. A nice feeling that leads to the next sip. Conclusion A very tasty and dangerously drinkable bottling, definitely a bottle that I would also like to have at home and that would then probably be emptied faster than expected. Great paints! N-91, T-90, F-88 for a good 90 points

In the nose I almost guessed it was a refill sherry cask. Reminds me slightly of Benromach 35 Years of Heritage. You can then recognize the bourbon barrel on the palate. Nothing burns and despite its age, no excessive bitterness.

Delicious whisky with a wonderful aroma of freshness, acacia honey and cucumber breeze ... The taste is sweetish, slightly woody, delicate. The finish is easy and elusive ... Nose - 23,5 Taste - 22 Finish - 21.5 Balance - 22 Rating - 89

Solvent, shoe polish, some marzipan, grass and hay on the nose. Taste: leather, again a bizarre but pleasant solvent note, spices, sweet & sour. Long finish. Very nice indeed with a lot going on.
