For me, the 70s style - reminds me a lot of Diageo Rare Malts from the 70s, not excellent but solid with a fine aroma profile - for me personally a top bottling with a high USP reminds me of late 70s Glen Ord / Moray / Talisker removed is a little dirty / woody chocolaty but especially the subtle peat profile may like the untrained palate for wood hold and yes over several sips accumulate tannins on the tongue - it is leatherier and somewhat bitter, makes me nothing at all - can old Armagnac much crass and green tea I drink too - a lot of whisky for the money - the yellow fruits are extremely reminiscent of Talisker 30 2017

dusty with delicate subliminal strongly degraded smoke, grassy, buttery, creamy yellow fruit - lemon and candied pineapple in yoghurt - the fruits very clear, noble - pleasing oldschool - with delicate leather wrapping and few wood notes |

candied and dried exotic fruit - pineapple, mango, very ripe lemon - subliminal smoke, the fruit flavors are sweet with little acidity and are invariably crystalline and clear, they are in constant competition with the delicious but quite easily dominant wood notes, furniture polish, dark dry wood notes - more wood dust - has a lot of cocoa |

Leather, tannins, a little furry, a lot of nut flour and chocolate, citrus oil, pepper - long spicy finish |
Beautiful time-honored-dusty-waxy nose. On the palate, unfortunately, an excess of rather inelegant wood reveals itself, as the sophistication then flutes. As a result, a fuffi felt too expensive.
Beautiful ripened malt, which shows in addition to the fruity sweetness also a lot of oak (with the 30 years but beautifully integrated). He does not need water, the alcohol is well integrated. Very tasty, the price is ok for 30 years, but because of the offered but already high.

Very interesting nose, complex and constantly producing something new. Sadly less complex on the palate and in the nose, the barrel notes predominate. The fruitiness is almost gone, there are still herbs, for me mainly peppermint. The whisky was almost too long for me in the barrel, tastes ... old. Water only changes him slightly. Overall, he needs a lot of time and air.

An affordable 30-year-old single malt, you can quite grow. However, the barrel does not provide much, in the aroma it is too sour for me and the association with white wine is really on. On the palate very woody and dry but to that end quite interesting. In the finish he is relatively short. He really does not need water. Personally, one sample is enough for me - 17.08.2019

Balmenach bottlings are few and far between, now a 30-year-old representative in cask strength from Signatory Vintage, exclusively bottled for Whisky.de (price 168 €, 8/2019). Sourly-sweet on the nose. Citrus notes. Some apricot. Then a whole load Bourbon keg, a lot of wood, a bit old-dusty character, here just ages through. Alcohol is not very noticeable in the nose, so I like it well. Is a round thing. Very sweet in the mouth, lots of vanilla. Then comes a load of oak and increasing bitterness. Quite unspectacular, one had something like that already in the glass. Alcohol easily irritates the tongue, but otherwise it is really well integrated. The finish is massive woody, slightly bitter. Yes, the oak is really heavy on the tongue, which is really furry occupied. Conclusion: decent whisky at a fair price. Here you can still get old age, but also a lot of oak for his money. You have to like that, it's a bit too much for me. 86 points
Farbe: Pale Straw.
Nose: A rich and oily bouquet characteristic of a well-aged whisky, with an underlying note of wood pulp and paper. Ripe, fermented fruit aromas emerge alongside a subtle brine-like saltiness. There’s also a hint of freshly baked cookies—rich in butter and flour—leading into a gentle, malty acidity on the finish. Palate: A saline brine sensation initially envelops the tongue. Then the malt sweetness unfolds, revealing a simple yet pure maltose and honey-like character that gradually fills the mouth. The overall impression is straightforward, full, and deeply satisfying.
