Black Label.

it is a blend, the one that the pure manic of the SM will never taste! and yet there is caol ila talisker inside and full of smoke! a very good blend, good ratio Q / P On the nose, spices, caramel, and yellow fruits On the palate, peat and smoke intertwine with orange fruits (orange peel !!) good, the finish is short, but it's a blend, we find the side spice-smoke!
Fished off the shelf today after 14 months (December 17th, 2021). 3/4 still in the bottle. I am very amazed. At least +4 points. What an incredible difference! I easily give 87 if not 88 points! Wow

It's weak, very simple and unpretentious, but it's probably the first product in the Johnny line that you can drink for pleasure in its purest form, black does not hold out, let alone red.

very good blend, very tasty and tasty, nice and soft and round. Excellent PLV. It's something for everyday enjoyment.
My first whiskey with screw cap since a felt eternity. The price and the fact that I bought a blend make me a little skeptical about the first glass and the first sip. The Johnny Walker Double Black is certainly not a bad whiskey, and for me it can not compete with a single malt. Granted, the JW is a good all-day dram, nothing more, nothing less. A decent PLV and a whiskey next door.

aren´t we snobs sometimes. this baby has been resting in peace for quite some time on my shelf since I have opened it. what a shame, cause this is good stuff and a real bfyb at that price. of course not a big whisky but it beats hundreds of far more expensive single malts. up 3 points since last time 86/100
It's decent. A lot of grain, some peat, sweet.
Always a solid blend. Nose could be more expressive, but the additional smoke shows up on the palate, along with raisins, honey, pepper, and some fruit. Great, long finish.

Seaweed, iodine, slightly smoky, floral notes The smell of seaweed reminds me of Talisker's made by the sea phrase. You can feel a little bit of iodine, and when you knead it, you can feel a slight smokiness and a sweet flower-like scent. Definitely Talisker from Johnnie Black? It feels like a fit has been added to the series. |

smoky, salty It has a smoky yet slightly salty taste. Compared to black, the sweet taste is definitely not noticeable. Still, it's soft. I think it would taste like this if you changed the ratio of salty and smoky in Talisker 10 YO. |

considering the 40% price difference from the black label, it's not worth the price if you're buying it for the weak peat / smoke addition, get a Laphroaig instead
Nose: light maritime smoke, honey Taste: oily, sweet smoke, spicy herbs Finish: middle aisle, light smoke
Slightly worse, but much better than Black. The peat is heavy and deep, and the flavor is fairly strong. A lot of maltose, weak alcohol stimulation, with vanilla, smoky, caramel as the main notes.

Sweetened, barrel toasted, vanilla, caramel, spicy alcohol, cloves. On the second layer comes a smoked Caol Ila style, a maritime note like late afternoon on the beach (Talisker??). Letting it breathe, the alcohol evaporates well, improving the experience and releasing a third layer of dark chocolate, old wood burned but not reduced to ashes and a slight burn of dry spices. With water, open vanilla and caramel. A good Scotch blend calls for ice, and this one is sweet, caramelized and lightly toasted. |

Less rich than that in aroma, not as sweet as advertised; vanilla, caramel, mild coffee beans, lightly salted; nothing smoky, more bitter than dry. Tannic and a dark green, kale-like leafy note. With water, it opens up the vanilla and caramel a little bit, and with ice, it expands the savory and barrel toast. |

Color - bright yellow amber; Nose - Mixture of dry and fatty smoke, significantly smokier than the Black Label, with sherry cask notes, pepper and orange peel behind it; Taste - strong and smoky, with very iodine-medicinal smoke notes, quite sharp but flat in taste, some sherry and velvety vanilla; Finish - stays long and warm in the throat
Sweet fruits, vanilla, furniture polish, cinnamon, cake, floral, dates, caramel, cream notes on nose. Creosote, spices, pepper, cream, oak cask, light dryness, dried fruits on palate. Middle finish with caramel, peated smoke, spices, vanilla, dry hay and sea foods note. This is a very good scotch with nice balance of sweetness and peat smoke.

#011 JOHNNIE WALKER DOUBLE BLACK BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKEY 40%. ie for everyone, I've already tasted different smokes and peats, but this one is something a little different. For sipping with ice and if someone likes it, with a lot of ice, but it's also good on its own (although this option is probably for extremists). It's also good for a casual gift will check - if we buy it in a cardboard box. For "powerful" smokes JWDB has too little of that "something", and for ordinary fans of Jasie - there is too much of that "something". For the latter, Black Label will be just right. But to have your own opinion, you have to try it yourself . The bottle is there, you can open it once in a while. Will I buy it again? .....probably not....or maybe....although.....maybe a drop more.... Like in the song. ...anything can happen…
For the price, it's a good drink. I'm not saying there aren't better whiskeys, but I like it. The only peat mixture from JW, I would really like the Triple Black version... In the aroma, quite fine peat, ground coffee, chocolate. In taste Peat, medicinal, black pepper, maybe a little lemon...

Johnnie Walker Double Black 40%. Plenty of caramel in this dark orange whisky. Aroma is quite muted with touches of fudgey sweetness suggesting bourbon barrel aged grain whisky. No smoke. When searching I get small suggestions of spice, sea breeze and sherry behind papery mulched paper. Taste is very watery and clean up front. First sip is like drinking papery water. Then some third fill bourbon cask notes with no smoke at all. This is an odd one. It's not bad and it tastes like whisky but it has the minimum whisky flavour you could have in a beverage without it becoming something else. Curious but not bad. In fact there's a building chocolatey sherried note as though 1/50th of the blend is an old sherry matured whisky. It's a grower and very easy to drink. It really grew on me - up front it was all grain and by the end of the glass it's a crystalline watery version of Dalmore. Highly drinkable, and something that needs to be highly drinkable so that you can appreciate some of the complexity that only comes out after you've consumed 50ml! 3.25/78

29.09.2020 More intense and more smoke than the Black Label. Well balanced and easy to drink.
I expected more from the double black than from the regular black... was a bit disappointing. Great sipper if you don't want to go deep in terms of flavor profile, and that's about all.
Aside from the Black Label Islay Origin, this is arguably the smokiest representative in the Johnnie Walker range. If you're a beginner looking to get started with smoky whisky and have previously preferred blends, you can't go wrong with this. The grain content is thankfully more in the background in terms of aroma. Whether it's worth the extra cost over the Black Label is something everyone has to decide for themselves. If I had to choose, I'd go for the Double Black.

A not-so-small plume of smoke wafts out of the glass. I'm surprised. The smoke is mineral with hints of peat fire. Behind it are tangerines, red stone fruit, and milk chocolate-covered muesli bars. A somewhat artificial floral perfume note flickers intermittently behind the light but not unpleasantly fruity, sweet aroma. But the smoke remains present the entire time. |

Light, somewhat flat, mouthfeel, but it's certainly within reason—what would you expect from 40% more alcohol? On the tongue, the smoke, earthy, peaty, and mineral aromas also dominate at the beginning. Less sweet and fruity than the nose. Instead, malty notes from the grain content and bitter, tart influences from the barrel wood dominate. A touch of vanilla and roasted nuts can also be found. |

The smoke lingers in the mouth, sticky and greasy, spreading its earthy, slightly phenolic aromas throughout. The finish is pleasantly peaty. Dark chocolate joins in, providing a pleasant farewell in the short to medium finish. |

Slowly forming thick straight primary, narrow very slow secondary legs. Droplets. Water brings to the fore the sweetness, maltiness, and smokiness on the nose, while making the palate sweeter and the finish smoother and smokier.

3.7 A blended feeling covered with moderate smokey pits There was no variety in taste and it was flat, but moderate pits and a hint of lemon were okay. It didn't bother me, and the price seemed just right. However, regardless of the price, Black Label was more colorful and delicious in both knit and highball.
delicious, but rather simple.
Not a simple, smoky but liquidish whiskey, the second time I would not have taken a bottle.

received as a gift. After the Islay version I was deeply disappointed. There's nothing but a bit of smoke, no real nose, and an exit doesn't really exist. Land at the Kochwiskies.
Intrigued by the range (I had never tasted a Johnnie Walker in my life, I swear!) I took the mini-bottle tasting kit with the tops, Black, Double Black, Gold Label Reserve and Blue Label. Ranking and notes: 5: Double Black: a lot of resin on the nose, dried fruit on the palate, a lot of smoking and a little bitterish. Weak and bitter finish. None of that. 2.5. 4: 18 Years Old: I thought better, he too weak on the nose, hay prevails ... on the palate light with dried fruit, grass and many spices. Not bad ending, the best part: sweet but short. 3. 3: Gold Label Reserve. On the nose and on the palate hazelnut and vanilla, hazelnut cake and dried fruit. Weak finish of custard. 3 2: Black Label: big surprise considering the ridiculous price! On the nose and on the palate cream and vanilla, light smoking (not as strong as double). Short but pleasantly full-bodied finish. I also found a drizzle of peat. What can I say, with € 25 you take home a bottle far better than many 12yo singles on the market ... 3.5. 1: Blue Label: I was curious and doubtful. A blended nas of 150 and passes € per bowl, not appreciated on bible whiskey but recognized as a great whiskey. I disagree with the high Jim Murray ... and I will immediately buy a whole bottle! On the nose light, but on the palate explosion of sweet, honey, Williams pears, pine nuts, Catalan cream. Pure silk on the tongue. Long but not very long finish. A whiskey to always have in the cabinet, to drink at any time. True masterpiece for me. 5+
Smell good Aftertaste short in taste
Not as good as regular Black Label, which isn't great itself to begin with.
My very first smoky whisky, that's why maybe i'm too condescending. I think this quite good whisky for introducing smoky whisky to friends
Very nice and drinkable blended whisky. Tastes sweet, smoke, chocolate, citrus, spicy in this specific order. I like it more than for example islay mist.
Okay whisky for the price. Comparing it to Talisker, it is less complex, less striking and does not have the strong character of Talisker.

More peaty than black label but still very mild. At first, peat comes as a chemical, pickle juice like flavor with saline notes similar to Talisker but diluted. It somehow reminded me of the tequila shots I drank years ago. It has some sweet notes like vanilla in the background. The peat comes very strong but other notes are in the very backs of the aroma palette. I don't consider it suitable to my taste so much. |

This is a great sipper and that is exactly what it's meant to be. I prefer it - slightly - over the normal Black, especially when the bottle has just been opened. If you prefer a slow drink then you will prefer the normal Black, but if you buy a Black just to finish it on the occasion then the double is more fun. I will revisit.
