Экспериментальный итальянский трёхлетний солод (ячмень, пшеница, рожь) в бочках из-под марсалы и айлейского виски: молодой, с торфяно-солёным профилем и мощным влиянием бочек, которое перекрывает характер спирта; оценки сходятся на «многообещающе, но сыро».

В аромате отмечают сухой дым, соль и морские водоросли, травы, дуб и изюм, а также лимон, мёд и зерновые тона; вкус получает айлейский характер с торфяно-дымной сладостью, изюмом, тропическими фруктами, засахаренным имбирём и мускатным орехом, послевкусие тёплое, пряное и умеренно долгое с торфяным шлейфом. Хвалят зрелость и качество для всего трёх лет выдержки, удачный подбор бочек и явный потенциал спирта; критикуют доминирование бочек (марсала и айлей), которое маскирует характер молодого дистиллята, и некоторую грубость и несобранность отдельных граней во вкусе. Опытные ревьюеры единодушнее прочих в диагнозе: напиток промежуточный, скорее заявка на будущее, чем законченное высказывание, и самый строгий из них ставит низкую оценку, указывая на неопределённый, «не вписывающийся в односолодовый формат» вкус. Основная масса оценок плотно держится в диапазоне 78–81 с отдельными выбросами вверх (85) и вниз (72), так что расхождение невелико — разница в акцентах: часть авторов делает упор на перспективу и удачный эксперимент с бочками, часть — на то, что то же самое управление бочками перекрывает исходный спирт.

Although the finish is okay but comes at the end of an indefinable taste that does not fit into a single malt. Too bad. But for the age he is respectable, we are curious what is still to come.

For 3 years, this whiskey tells a lot about what is certainly due to the barrel experiment. But as with the Nova, the potential is clearly visible. It has created the basis here produce good quality whiskeys. I'm looking forward to the upcoming, older bottlings - 13.05.2017

Here too I can only say that Puni has great potential. The Brennereicharakter interacts beautifully with the Fassaromen. This malt would have potential to a real hit, but just in the mouth, the individual facets are a bit uncouth, but not unpleasant. The next few years can bring great things here.

Awesome distillery to visit. Nevertheless, it can be argued that their cask management for this expression is masking the flavours of the new make spirit to be honest. The influence of both the Islay and Marsala cask are very dominant.

An unique in architecture distillery located at the foot of the Alps with an extraordinarily nice staff. This is one of the first release from Puni Distillery, and this is a 3yo "The Italian Malt Whisky" matured in combination of ex-Marsala, and ex-Islay Casks. On the nose quite pleasant, mellow, sweet and grainy with lemon and honey and a touch of smoke. On the palate sweet and peaty, with raisins, honey, candied ginger and nutmeg. Finish of medium length, sweet, peaty sprinkled with spices Overall it's quite well matured for its age, although with undeniable domination of the casks. Nevertheless, the whisky remains promising in terms of quality.
