In a line-up of 8 different Arran, this was for me the winner, not because I like Mark and Manny that much... no, since it is such a good dram! WB rate #2750

Saturn Manny and I are very proud of this bottling. It is one of the first single cask Arran releases at 20 years old. A beautiful release for MMM to start the new year with. This year, our four whisky’s will be released in the Galaxy Series, because we are both such Star Wars fans. Let us start with Saturn, the god of agriculture in ancient Roman mythology. A nice link to the barley, right? Anyway, enough rambling, time to start tasting! Creamy nose on butterscotch, banana and graeffe sugar (the light brown version that you put in pancakes). Becomes very fruity on peach and dried pineapple. Some gooseberries and a hint of coconut. If you leave it to breath for a while, it becomes slightly excotic with oranges and mango. A bit of a fruit-bomb! Perfect arrival, mouth coating and oily, wonderfully spicy but mostly juicy and fruity on everything you would expect to find in a good fruit cocktail. Perfect, somewhat spicy, continuation of the nose. Good strength too. Does not need water at all. Wonderfully long finish that remains sweet and fruity until the death. Not a trace of wood, but all about sweetness and fruit. This is a wonderful Arran that is the perfect dram with pastry or desert. Did I already tell you were are proud of this one?

Surprisingly enough there was no wood or vanilla to find in here after 20 years on a bourbon barrel but you get a lot of goodies instead in this wonderfull Arran MMM.

Apparently one of the earliest MMM bottelings, so I'm honored to have been able to try this one. Pours a clear, medium colored yellow. Scent is full, noticable booze. Expressive oak, mild vanilla. Taste is full, expressive oak, mild glue, vanilla, fine aroma of woodyness. Complex, bit nutty almost. very enjoyable !
