Морской, солёный ex-bourbon Bowmore с умеренным дымом, тропическими фруктами и сладостью при суховатом послевкусии. Опытные оценивают сдержаннее (около 85–86), остальные заметно щедрее (88–90), сходясь на «чистом, но не сложном» характере.

В аромате доминируют солёно-морская тема и ваниль: яблоко, груша, банан, тропические фруктовые оттенки, мёд и тесто, местами кожа, а торфяной дым держится на втором плане, деликатно. Несколько отзывов отмечают начальную мыльно-цветочную или спиртовую ноту, которая уходит, если дать напитку раскрыться. Во вкусе торф выступает отчётливее — маслянистый, сливочно-бархатистый, с йодом, солью, белым перцем, ванилью и мёдом, цитрусом, зелёным манго и папайей; фон дубовый и слегка пепельный. Послевкусие среднее-долгое, сухое, пряное, солёное, с деревом и дымом; часть авторов упрекает сладость в приторности к финалу.
Хвалят за чистую структуру, узнаваемый характер винокурни и удачное сочетание Bowmore с бурбонной бочкой вместо привычного хереса, за питкость и морскую солёность. Критикуют ограниченную сложность («приятно, но не поражает»), избыточную «причёсанность» современного стиля и, у отдельных релизов (Feis Ile), завышенную цену при средней глубине. Опытные ревьюеры последовательно ставят около 84–89, чаще 85, воспринимая напиток как крепкий, но без выдающихся вершин; менее авторитетные оценки разбросаны шире и уходят вплоть до 90–95, что отражает расхождение: базовый профиль все признают качественным и характерным, но восторг вызывает он в основном у менее опытной части аудитории.

It does not always have to be the sherry keg at Bowmore, Bowmore and Bourbon-Cask are a great match. Great combination. Cadenhead's has been in Bourbon barrel matured Bowmore for quite some time. The five years younger Tempest is going well in this direction - like more of it, also and especially as Destillerieabfüllung.

Very exciting and also delicious, one has the feeling of whisky glowing all the time and rarely drunk a sweet whisky with such a dry mouthfeel.

This is such a great whisky. Beautiful, vanilla, fresh, lavender beauty. The taste is very pleasantly smoky, spicy, fresh, with a lavender finish. I'm writing that down on my wish list.
A very pretty Bowmore, very saline and tropical. Not that complex but surprisingly fun.

I am now skeptical about Feis Ile bottlings, because it is often a marketing bottling of medium quality for a totally exorbitant price - regardless of the distillery. I don't know what the issue price was here, but I think the quality is good, clean and definitely Bowmore if you let it breathe for 20 minutes so that the alcohol evaporates. The cleanliness would be worth 100 euros to me, but the complexity is very limited. Therefore no more than 100 euros and only because it is a clean Bowmore from Islay and that is what the market prices are at the moment. Between 88 and 90 points depending on the mood of the day and preferred taste profile. But I think the nose is clearly one point stronger than the rest of the part. Almost 89 points today.

The potential of the 15 years and just over 50 percent can only be guessed at first, because this is a beautiful Islay whisky with not excessive smoke, rudimentary tropical fruits and a clean bourbon aging in the foreground. Colour: straw yellow Nose: Dark fruits of elderberry, wild berries and currants (cassis), tons of peat and phenols, wet coal, ash / cigar ash, smoke and always sweet accents of fruit and honey - newfangled, but good! Taste: Soft, sweet, peaty-salty and lined with dark fruit notes. Coal, ash, maritime smoke, wood and again and again these fruity cassis notes. Also here, kept modern and altogether too cute, but straightforward! Finish: Long - peaty-dry, dark-fruity and with a lot of smoke and wood - softly fading out. Comment: A rather unusual or untypical Bowmore, as we find! 89 points N: 90P / G: 88P / F: 88P

The aroma is dominated by a salty sea theme, the taste is sweeter and classically aile. Delicious work.

It’s a sweet vanilla smoky ashy bowmore, it scratches the itch. Bowmore isn’t my first Islay love and I do like sherried expressions a bit more.
