It was a very long evening, lots of different Ledaig whiskys! This one was one of the weakest, 20+ 21 20 20+ 82 The new MM, as many as 25 years old, is a slipper... and where are they? OK, you can drink, but why... sad... a young, passable option!

A powerful dram and despite (or because of?) it's age at 25yo, it delivers a delicious blast of peat, fruit and spices.

Dark yellow color. Oily structure.

Margaux Bottled in Murray McDavid's Mission Gold range, this Ledaig matured for a quarter of a century before being finished in French Margaux wine barrels. The nose starts off quite dirty, with some sewer smell and dried seaweed. After a few minutes, Arbroath Smokies join in, a dirty rag full of engine oil in the garage, bacon on the BBQ, soy sauce and some dried garden herbs. Only after a few minutes of breathing, I also get the first hint of red fruit. And something of wet peat that gives it a sweet and sour smokiness. I confess: not the easiest nose, mind you. On the palate it is a true battle between sweet and salty. Immediately powerful and spicy, full of maritime notes such as ash, dried fish and seaweed, but at the same time deliciously sweet on red fruit, plums and even a bit of chocolate. Salted caramel. Deliciously oily. And surprisingly medicinal. The impact of the red wine barrels is only now really clear and provides a great balance. This is much better than what I got on the nose. Round, layered and simply very tasty. In the long and quite smoky aftertaste, besides bacon on the BBQ, there is mainly some red fruit in the form of cherries and raspberries, but there is also a lot of pepper and salt in it. Very salty on the deathbed and slightly drying. The nose was a bit difficult, but on the palate and in the finish this is a great Ledaig.

bottle has been open for some months now, lovely improvement in the finish. polarizing dram - that's exactly what i love about Ledaig!

For 25 years spent in the barrel, I expected more than what I received. Unfortunately, the whisky is average for me. Too bitter. Although the alcohol is unnoticeable, it still doesn't encourage me to buy a bottle

For Ledaig fans a “Nazi Party Rally”. A beautifully complex thing that you should deal with for a while.
