Прибрежно-фруктовый профиль от бочки из-под бурбона: воск, мёд, цитрус, тропические фрукты и лёгкий торфяной дымок; согласованный фаворит, лишь немногие сочли водянистым и переоценённым за свои деньги.

В аромате свежая солёно-морская минеральность с воском и мёдом, обилие спелых садовых и тропических фруктов — ананас, персик, дыня, манго, лимонная цедра — плюс ваниль, сдоба и лёгкий пыльный торфяной дымок; иногда проступают более пикантные, сельские, сенно-табачные и кожаные оттенки. Вкус маслянисто-сливочный, восковой, с пряным мёдом, цитрусом и тропическими фруктами, которые быстро сменяются сухим дубом, солью, белым перцем, пеплом и горьковатой цедрой; послевкусие средней длины, сухое, слегка пряное и торфяное, с медленно угасающими фруктами и минеральной, меловой солёностью. Хвалят за тонкость, сливочную маслянистость и чистое выражение бочки из-под бурбона, сравнивая с лучшими партиями десятилетнего; критикуют сухой дуб во вкусе и у части авторов — жидковатую, тонкую текстуру, недостаточную для 18 лет насыщенность и завышенную цену. Опытные ревьюеры единодушны и склонны к высоким оценкам (88–90), подчёркивая свежесть, минеральность и фруктовую сложность, тогда как разочарования («ожидал большего», «не стоит своих денег», оценки 85–86) исходят в основном от менее авторитетных авторов; общий разброс узкий (85–92), что говорит о высокой согласованности при мелких расхождениях лишь в восприятии тела и соотношения цена-качество.

tasting at the Whisky Dram festival in Kyiv, Ukraine 11/02/2024. Nice nose, and the taste matches it, and a pleasant aftertaste, a beautiful release, I'll be happy to try it in a calmer environment and with a big Dram!) 21+ 22 21+22 87

If you ignore the dry oak on the palate: there were a few batches of Springbank 10 a few years ago that tasted just as amazing. It's great that there's another 18yo that's matured in 100% bourbon casks. A real hit.
Нос 91 The opening is very fresh and maritime, with a hint of minerality. Pineapple, lemon peel, fresh nectarines, peach cake, honeydew melon. A slightly dirty note with a hint of peat smoke, apple seeds, vanilla.
Вкус 90 Wonderfully creamy, waxy start with spiced honey and vanilla, citrus juice, pineapple, orange peel. Not the orange peel from the start - and then only briefly, because the taste quickly changes to tart orange marmalade with bits of pieces. Vanilla biscuits, toffee, dry oak, sea salt, light peat smoke.
Финиш 90 Medium to long, dry, slightly spicy and peaty, slowly fading fruit aromas. The fruit component sizzles a little in the finish and acts like a multivitamin effervescent tablet.

Golden color. Slight oiliness.
Нос 86 Quite subtle at first. Barley malt. Vanilla. Honey, but not overly sweet. A bit of hay. Quite a few floral notes. Becomes more intense with time. Red apples.
Вкус 88 Delicate ashiness. Barley malt. Caramel. Toffee. Honey, but less sweet. Spices. Black pepper. White pepper. Tropical fruits in the ash. Quite a pronounced oiliness. A very pleasant impression of lightness on the second sip.
Финиш 87 Tropical fruits. Peaches. Ash. Caramel. Toffee. Pinch of spice. White pepper. More yellow and orange fruits on second sip. Fairly long finish.

Cor blimey, Gov’nor, a whole basket of ripe, dried, orchard, and tropical fruits – depending on where your orchard is located, of course. Pass some of those fruits over to a baker for them to prepare all manner of [cake & pastry] sweet treats. Zesty later, there’s a chalky quality which in turn leads to sandiness, dusty fabric plasters, crayon, grey paper,…. There’s a reminder of the ex-bourbon influence followed by more fruit bowl action, though on opening up, it’s far more savoury than on first appearance – much to its credit. T: Zesty again, fruity and salty into a citrus-dry yet succulent savoury-leaning chew – a little surprising given that fruit bowl – with a head-nodding amalgamated whole. F: From salt to pepper, more lemon zest, wet chalk [paint] with a sprinkle of ash,… the ex-bourbon influence gives out to the last without being too excessive, the chalky citric qualities seeing to that. C: A formidable release in my book.

Нос 90 Fruity, honey, vanilla, icing sugar, white orchard fruits like pear and melon, also tropical fruits, lychee, peach skin, mango, a mineral note, slightly grassy, some cinnamon sugar in the background.
Вкус 90 Oily and creamy, honey, pear, ripe peach, mango, a little guava, bitter lemon, yellow grapefruit, mineral, salty and fudgy, whipped cream, icing sugar, white pepper, distant herbs and some charred wood in the background.
Финиш 89 Medium length: honey, syrupy peach notes, cinnamon sugar, mineral and salty, wet pebble stones, drying notes of green herbs, white pepper and dusty charred wood.

Very delicate and gentle whisky, wonderful! - The nose has a light, delicate saltiness with a gentle marine note. A subtle smoky note transforms into a delicate creamy citrus aroma (89) - The taste is wax, salt and citrus, turning into creamy ice cream, delicate and at the same time rich structure. Then honey from various herbs, turning into delicate smoke, super (91) - Medium-length finish with notes of peat and smoke, then transitions back into a creamy aftertaste with a slight peaty aftertaste, very good (89) The bourbon barrel obviously benefited the malt, delicious!

The nose is wonderfully sweet, almond-like, with a hint of dusty peat, farmyard notes, cut hay, honey, buttered bread, yellow plum pulp, ripe banana, bursts of iodine, minerals, and limestone. Slightly dry tall grasses and angelica. On the palate, it's silky and delicate, with lychee, white grape, a touch of grapefruit, and then immediately spices, not too strong, clove, and mirabelle plums. The finish isn't quite explosive but is quite long, with nuts, shortbread, greengage plums, apricot jam, a touch of menthol, blond tobacco leaf, hazelnuts, and walnuts. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite Springbank 18 yo, it is very similar to the 10 yo, but much finer, more subtle and complex. https://ilikesky2020.blogspot.com/2026/06/springbank-18-yo-2024.html

A first test. I like it so far. We know that Springbank has more to come with a bit of oxidation. I'm excited about it.
Нос 88 Citrus, fully ripe pineapple, star fruit, waxy, butter biscuit, slightly salty coastal breeze, little Campbeltown funk, hardly any smoke noticeable, alcohol very well integrated
Вкус 87 On the tongue before swallowing, fruity and sweet, as a reflection of the nose. Then a clear contrast, light warm and somewhat dirty smoke, salt, clearly oak with cocoa, only behind that the fruits again, a hint of chalk
Финиш 87 A brief flare-up of bitter substances, then tropical fruits again with grilled pineapple, cantaloupe melon, guava, and a campfire in the distance.

I have been looking forward to it for a LONG time, and maybe because of my high expectations it disappoints a bit. Don't get me wrong it is good but not wow good. In my eyes certainly not worth the money. I much rather buy the 12 cs.

S 7.5 Bright and easy drinking. Although I was looking for something richer in texture. Flavours on palate stretches wide but a bit thin. £120 is a very decent price, but anything beyond £150 is pure FOMO.
Нос 87 Fresh citrus. Waxy oak. Melons. Snow pears. More coastal and tropical as it breathes. Overripe plantain. Salted oat and pepper. Vanilla custard. WHite chocolate Kit Kat. Brazil nuts drizzled in processed honey.
Вкус 85 Fairly peppery landing. Mellows down slowly and getting creamier mouthfeel. Fresh dough with flour dusted on top. Yellow fruits - apricots, cantaloupes, and mango. A touch of ashes and earthy oak. Increasingly malty. The funk that's often found in the 10yo is tamed as Springbank ages.
Финиш 85 Long, mildly oily finish. The fruits lingers with a subtle touch of gluey cedar wood. Warm pepper and cloves.
