Насыщенный херес (олоросо) со «спрингбанковской» минерально-солёной грязнотцой; красные фрукты, кожа, орехи. Опытные ценят характер и баланс, часть находит профиль простоватым и суховатым от танинов.

В аромате — чистый олоросо: изюм, сушёный абрикос и инжир, старая кожа, трубочный табак, погребная сырость и влажное дерево, поверх которых проступают типичные для дистиллерии минеральные и солёные ноты, орехи и тёмный шоколад; у части бутылок в начале заметна сера, резина и лёгкая серность, быстро уходящие. Вкус маслянистый и плотный, с ежевикой, чёрной смородиной, сливой и виноградом, солёной карамелью, лакрицей, мускатным орехом, перцем и намёком на ментол; ощущение выраженно вяжущее, подсушивающее. Послевкусие средней и большой длины, сухое, с акцентом на херес, табаком, шоколадом и дубом, у некоторых — избыточно пряное. Оценки согласованны и держатся в узком коридоре (в основном 85–90). Опытные ревьюеры делают упор на характер: несмотря на тройную дистилляцию, происхождение и «грязноватая» солёно-минеральная подпись дистиллерии читаются ясно, а союз спирта с олоросо даёт тело и глубину — отсюда высокие оценки вплоть до 90–92. Расхождение в том, что часть опытных считает виски простым и не заслуживающим долгого смакования из-за обилия танинов, а среди остальных звучат упрёки в лишней пряности на длинном послевкусии, некоторой переоценённости из-за спроса и излишней «грязноте»; тройную дистилляцию почти никто во вкусе не улавливает.

20 22 20 20+ 82+ Simple, very simple, although the taste is quite good, with a lot of tannins. Good topic for a drink, but nothing serious to savor in general!

Even with this Hazelburn, the triple distillation hasn't meant that you can't taste its origin. Class sherry aromas combined with mineral notes. In view of the quality that Springbank has delivered with the Hazelburn over the last few years, Hazelburn shouldn't be called a wallflower anymore.
Нос 91 There's no denying it: a crystal-clear sherry, here: Oloroso nose. However, there is still a lot more to it, namely an absolutely typical Springbank character, which is also evident in this Hazelburn with mineral and salty notes. Raisins, pieces of dried apricot, aged leather, flavored pipe tobacco. Cellar mold, damp wood: fresh and rough at the same time, you have to get it right first.
Вкус 89 Lies softly and supple on the tongue, has blackberries, blackcurrants and grapes in the program. A hint of menthol in harmony with saltwater-wetted pebbles. Old oak floorboards, grated nutmeg, pepper, cracked leather. Figs and dates dried over time, plus nougat, marzipan and milk coffee.
Финиш 89 Medium length, dry, sherry accentuated. In the end, it delivers everything you would expect from a whisky matured in Oloroso casks, not without letting the "dirtiness" typical of Springbank shine through.

Had this one in a blind tasting, never would have guessed a Campbeltown whisky, didn't find that profile. Nicely sherries, no sherry bomb but some decent sherrycask influence. Pleasant dram.
Нос 85 Fruity, but also some tobacco touch from the beginning. Siruppy, a touch of sulphur. Some berries.
Вкус 86 Powerful, pretty drying mouthfeel immediately. Fruity, red fruits, berries, plums. Some licorice.
Финиш 86 More smooth now, more sulphur, red fruits, drying again. Tobacco and chocolate, pretty long finish.

A heavier profile than all of the preceding versions, definitely its predecessor. But that could also be because I've just opened this one.
Нос 87 Blackberry, fudge, leather, apple and peach. Also some sulphuric notes in the newly opened bottle: Spices and even cheese. These don't stick around very long though.
Вкус 88 Salted caramel, blackberry and a little paprika powder.
Финиш 89 Blackberry, salted caramel and cranberry.

if someone says that tripple distilled spirits are boring should try hazelburn, and ecpecially this one. when compared to a auchentoshan, this is just miles away. i would have never believed that this is unpeated. maybe it is just the springbank style which makes me think that there is some peat in there. i must say that i fell in love with this dram when trying it the first time. now the bottle is almost empty and i liked it more when i first opened it, but still love it and have another bottle as backup :) if you like springbank and deep oloroso notes, this is a dram for you!
Нос 94 deep and rich mustiness. old cellar wood. some figs and dried apricots. wal- and hazelnuts. pure elegance. this is a wonderful nose. very dark chocolate. behind that the springbank sweetness. i even do get some typical springbank cardboard.
Вкус 93 this is not peated? wow. so much fizzines, topped with old oloroso notes. i would have never said that this is 13 years old (but much older). very nice oliy texture. rich. i do get some rubberx and fusely notes, but in a nice way. normally i try to take only small sips, but somehow it suits this whisky to make a bigger sip. maybe it is the texture. i dont know. great stuff!
Финиш 90 a lot of wood here. dry finish with an oil film on your tongue. stays for a loooong time:)

good whisky, for me it has a touch of grain note and too much spicyness on the long finish. triple destilled? i don’t taste it. sherried, of course. oily mouthfeel. because of the demand this is getting a little overpriced for what it really is.

On the first nose it is fat, fruity, heavy, thick, almost syrupy. We have red fruits, plums, muscat grapes, blueberries, but also dried fruits, bananas, cashews and apricots. Nuts that have just been opened. Caramelized wood. On the palate, still as warm, figs, dates, sweet almonds. Charming spices. Nutmeg, cinnamon, saffron, and even a little curry. Strong and long finish, which brings everything we needed, with ginger. Varnished wood, warm chestnuts, some plants. Juniper. Bay leaf. I find that the Hazelburn distillate marries superbly with the Oloroso. The malt is very pleasant to drink, you completely forget about the strength, you can clearly feel the breed and the basis of the distillery, which is unexpected and joyful! The aroma is good, but unambiguous, but the taste is more complex and deep; the distillery’s signature style is clearly revealed here and, oddly enough, it is phenolic. 22 22 22 22

really interesting malt. Was my first Hazelburn and I like it a lot. But he took time to open up. If you give it to him, you won't be disappointed. Delicious.

An unmistakable Hazelburn in the nose and mouth. The typical combination of citrus / ester, light sulfur, raisins, strawberries, herbs and nuts. Here in my opinion a little more pleasantly balanced and less sulphurous than in the 2003 version. Somewhat floral on the nose and therefore sufficiently complex. Sweet and sour in the mouth with nice Oloroso flavor. Medium-long and dry finish. As always, very unique and something for fanboys. In the end a bit too dirty for me.

Blenders Glass. Sherry bomb. Feels youthful, but with a strong character. Reminded by Edradur) Great whisky to drink. I recommend pouring 20-25 ml and drinking in small vultures - this way it opens up brighter. Balance 22 Total: 88
