Ardmore 2009 - 2022, 12 years, 60.1% alc. Bottler: Mossburn for the whisky autumn 2022. Aging: post-maturation in rum cask no. 137 Nose: Pleasantly mild, the alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Honey, camphor and heather, plus some peach and ripe apricot. With time in the air the Ardmore gets sweeter and sweeter, a few dates appear, along with toasted almonds and walnuts in honey. In the background, delicate notes of charred oak, aniseed and mint. Palate: Sugary sweet and slightly smoky, slightly over the top. Sugar beet syrup, honey, dextrose. Plus sultanas, raisins and figs, delicate milk chocolate, fruit gums and children's liquorice. Towards the end, the whisky becomes more bitter. Finish: Medium length, harmonious, continues the palate aromatically, but appears less sweet. A pleasant herbal freshness is added. Conclusion: A pleasant Ardmore with a really well coordinated finish, recommended. 87/100 points (2022)
