Хересный Dalmore на амороссо: солодовый нос с изюмом, черносливом, какао и специями хвалят, но вкус при 40% водянистый, с горьким коротким послевкусием. Опытные разделились — от «карамельная дрянь» до крепкой похвалы, большинство держится на «прилично, но не более».

В аромате единодушно отмечают хересную сладость: изюм, чернослив, сушёные абрикосы, тёмные лесные ягоды и чернику, какао и тёмный шоколад, тоффи и мёд (в том числе вересковый), корицу и мускатный орех, кедр и ноты старого дерева, местами с лёгкой кислинкой и цитрусовой цедрой. Многие называют нос красивым, сухим, кожисто-ореховым и многомерным — самая сильная сторона напитка. Вкус повторяет шоколадно-фруктовый профиль с грецким орехом, специями и белым перцем, поначалу маслянистый и полнотелый, но быстро становится водянистым, сухим, как несладкое какао; фруктовость проваливается. Послевкусие короткое, горьковатое и терпкое, с грейпфрутом, кофе и порой искусственной горечью горького миндаля.
Главная претензия across всех уровней опыта — низкая крепость 40%: напиток кажется горячим и одновременно разбавленным, с обрывистым слабым завершением, и не оправдывает своей ценовой категории. Опытные ревьюеры расходятся сильнее всего: один ставит 64 («карамельная дрянь»), другой при 86 хвалит маслянистость и десертный шоколад, третий при 81 признаёт красоту хереса, но отказывается покупать целую бутылку из-за слабого дистиллята и градуса. Основная масса оценок кучно держится в диапазоне 79–85, сходясь на вердикте: приятный, вкусный, но простоватый и одномерный херес без сложности — хорош для любителей хересной выдержки, но не выдающийся.

Decidedly too hot for its measly 40%, unfortunately, with a weak and abrupt finish. Too bad, really, because on both the nose and the palate, the sherry influence is beautiful. Nutty, dry, and leathery in a multidimensional, not-at-all-boring way, this could have really been something if the distillate had been better and the ABV higher. Still a decent sipping malt, for sure, but I would not buy a whole bottle.
The Travel Retail series 'Fortuna Merita' means something like 'Fortune beckons the brave'. Sherry casks from Bodega Gonzalez Byass were used for each of the three bottlings Dominium, Luceo and Regalis. Regalis, the 'royal' malt, was matured in 15 year old sherry casks.

Dalmore Regalis, 40% alc. Original bottling (2016, Fortune Merita Collection). Aging: Post-maturation in Amoroso sherry casks Nose: fruit gums next to cedar wood and wintry spices. Despite the rather creamy fruit aromas, there is a dryness that is difficult to describe. I find raisins and dried apricots alongside fresh currants and pomegranate. A little soy sauce resonates in the background. Palate: The Dalmore opens with an intense flavor of raisins, along with candied pineapple and currants and dark chocolate. Cinnamon and walnuts emerge on the edge. Finish: More of a medium length, here the sherry casks seem a bit overdone. Behind come grasses and tart herbal aromas. Conclusion: An overall tasty and very pleasant Dalmore, if not a miracle of complexity. 83/100 points (2023)

At first, quite interesting aromas come to your nose, which definitely make you want to whisky. Unfortunately, the taste and the rather short departure as unfortunately can not keep up.

Nose: A good portion of dark fruit that goes very well with a subtle toffee note. From the first contact with the Dalmore Regalis, the sweet aroma that it exudes in the fragrance is pleasant. TASTE: With a hint of syrup that brings vanilla but caramel with it, the Dalmore Regals is sweet and fruity at the same time. After prolonged contact, a finely dosed trace of heather honey remains on the palate. FINISH: Here the fresh vanilla and liquorice notes predominate, which elegantly fade with a subtle fruitiness.
