В аромате преобладают сладко-десертные и фруктовые тона: изюм, сушёные фрукты, спелые красные яблоки, молочный шоколад, ваниль и мягкая карамель, с добавлением мяты, травяного чая и лёгкой пряности (корица, разноцветный перец). Хересное влияние ощутимое, но сдержанное, а на фоне многие улавливают сухость, зерно и старую древесину. Во вкусе сладость переплетается с горчинкой яблочных косточек и дуба, проступают лакрица, фенхель, умами, тёмный шоколад, специи и воск; тело слегка маслянистое, но для многих тонковатое из-за низкой крепости. Послевкусие долгое, десертное — какао, тёмный шоколад, корица, белый перец, кожа и лёгкий древесный дым с терпкой кислинкой.
Хвалят за оригинальность и узнаваемость (сравнения с мятно-дубовым профилем в духе конфет After Eight), за спелую зрелость старого хереса и гуманную для 25 лет цену. Критикуют мягкость и приглушённость: напиток кажется простоватым, разбавленным на 43% и не отражающим свой возраст, а прогресса относительно 20-летней версии — кроме перехода на херес — не видно. Оценки согласованны и плотно сгруппированы в диапазоне 81–88; опытные ревьюеры сходятся на крепких 86, но заметно строже к соотношению возраст/крепость/цена, тогда как расхождение касается главным образом того, считать ли бутылку выгодной или переоценённой.

Amber color. It's not too oily.
| Нос | 88 | Nice. Intense. Slightly sweet. Raisins. Dried fruits. There are also ripe red apples. Milk chocolate underneath. Vanilla pudding. Sweet, light cream. A very pleasant composition. Light, fruity aromas mix with sweet, dessert ones. After some time, some apple seeds came out. Spices. Colorful pepper. |

wow - I've never had such a malt - reminds me a bit of Balblair 1990 - with the minty oak and the oak extract texture - the AfterEight malt par excellence - very original, highly recognizable and delicious

Might appear well-priced for a 25-year-old OB, but I find it too mild and toned-down to represent real value. There are plenty of more accomplished and exciting bottlings within the same price bracket.
| Нос | 84 | Lots of grains and cereals (much as in the 20-year old) alongside well-worn wood, adding up to a supremely dusty impression. The sherry influence is mild; if there were indeed first-fill casks involved, they don't make their presence felt. Some scattered mint leaves, a whiff of herbal tea... It's pleasant enough, but fairly simple, and certainly less interesting than what I would expect of a malt of this age. |
| Вкус | 86 | Better. Still soft, but nicely savory and with a decent attack for the ABV. On the mid-palate, quite a bit of liquorice and fennel with an umami overcoat (teryaki?). More old wood coming through now, and some dark chocolate toward the end. I wouldn't call this fruity, though. What little juiciness there is comes from the sherry casks. The rest is all wood spice and dusty barley. In a word: oatmeal. |

Unlike the 20s, since sherry. Old, ripe, a bit cumbersome, but really good. The enthusiasm is still missing, so that the 25er is not really an advancement to the 20s, only Bourbon. Sherry and double price.

The malt is very tasty without getting boring. There were probably more 2nd fill than 1st fill kegs involved.

Surprisingly pleasant silence, nothing good from Tully was waiting for, but here, already closer to the old sherry barrels flooded in the 60's than to the regular line, and the price tag is very humane; the truth is some sharpness, gnarliness breaks through places through sherry, recalling the origin of the base, but nice overall, yes.
