Насыщенный хересный солод с ореховым характером, тёмными фруктами и какао; выглядит старше своих 14 лет. Единодушная похвала за баланс, но нужно принимать заметную горчинку в послевкусии.

В аромате — грецкий орех вплоть до орехового ликёра, тёмные сухофрукты (изюм, финики, инжир, чернослив), какао и тёмный шоколад, табак, кожа, ноты старого мёда и лёгкого дуба, у части авторов — сладость свекольного сиропа и влияние бочки из-под педро хименес; отдельные оценщики отмечают более грубые, «дикие» тона (подгнивший фрукт, стойло, сырой окорок в рассоле). Вкус маслянистый, кремовый и сладко-пряный, с перечной покалывающей пряностью, финиками, изюмом, корицей, тёмным шоколадом и ореховостью; послевкислие средней длины, тёплое, пряное с чёткой дубовой горчинкой. Несколько капель воды убирают спиртовую резкость, делают напиток кремовее и раскрывают шоколад с тёмными фруктами.
Опытные ревьюеры хвалят баланс, чистоту и элегантную несладко-липкую хересность без излишней горечи, ставя 88–90 и подчёркивая сложность аромата; они же осторожно отмечают, что виски дороже более старого 21-летнего собрата и прямое сравнение неуместно. Менее опытные оценки чуть разбросаннее (85–90) и заметно чаще упирают на горечь как на условие принятия — «надо любить горчинку», а также на спиртовую резкость без воды и не-повседневный характер напитка. Общая согласованность высокая: почти все сходятся на зрелом хересно-ореховом профиле с тёмными фруктами, расхождения касаются лишь степени горечи и того, насколько «чистым» или, наоборот, звероватым воспринимается аромат.

pleasing sweet-fruity malt, which looks older than it is, but is also priced higher than the 21-year-old Glen Goyne, I would not directly compare the two - too different - who is on elegant sweet non-sticky sherry without bitterness, where fruity acids rather to play a supporting role is right here
A Glengoyne where you can feel the PX influence from the finish, it also looks a bit older than the 14J. You have to like the slightly bitter impact in the finish, I find it harmonious and well integrated. All in all a great sparkling sweet and spicy malt with beautiful dark fruity aromas without being overloaded. It tolerates a few drops of water, which makes the slightly alcoholic note disappear.

a very tasty sherry malt. It looks significantly older than 14 years. Wonderful flavor profile. The alcohol is a bit stinging in the nose without water, but not really bothersome. You have to like the bitter taste. I think the combination of the flavors is very successful. I like it very much.

Initial though that came to my mind was something like "this doesn't smell like whisky, more like walnuts liquor"... It's high quality, pleasant but not my favorite stile of whisky... definitely not a everyday whisky... Develops nicely with time in the glass

Excellent Glengoyne, very gentle and delicate, harmonious whisky

It has a medium viscosity and a relatively intense bouquet. I detect aromas of lovage, raisin syrup, plum wine, maritime notes, dried fruits, nuts, and pipe tobacco. It's moderately complex. A good balance between sweetness and dryness in terms of flavor. The alcohol is well integrated, and it has a relatively heavy body.
