I'm generally not a big fan of Irish whiskey, but this has character and offers good value for money. Recommended for Scotch lovers as well.
Just a good straight peat. Without much fanfare, a lot of Connemara and with the necessary strength. I always like it and it's an endless shame. That he was hired.
Aroma: this is definitely a different and very non-standard type of peat whiskey, it has a very creamy, nutty, grassy aroma - a bit of vegetables, orchard fruit, yellow bompar, grilled fruit Taste: it is very pleasant, sweet, sweet-bitter, apple, pear, pleasantly slightly smoky - when it gets a little airy it is excellent (I could drink that) - it has a typical Connemara finish. Would I buy a bottle? Right away
- very intensive, strong, young cask strength bottling - not a beginner malt! - you definitely need water here to dilute it - Price was around 40 €, was taken from the market at around 50-60 € - was once worth an experience
A decent powerful Cask Strength that was available in stores until the end of 2016;

For sure not that complex but a very well made, exciting and refreshing irish whiskey. Recommended!
You can compare this one with a few good Islay-whiskies, lots of peat-smoke and a hugh fire burning in your mouth! To bad you don´t see this one to much nowadays... for a few years ago widely available, but not anymore.
This great Irish whiskey lets you feel freedom and space Freshness and fire very uncomplicated! instead of the slight nausea after many a sherrylastigen whiskey It makes you feel fresh and light after this great Irish whiskey the 57.9% are not really feeling At some point I'm sitting with him by the sea nibble salty popcorn with olives look into the sunset and looking forward to ... whatever ..
Nice, tasty bottling. Really great CS malt. Except for the smoke, everything is a tad more intense than the standard Connemara.

Fresh like mint with lots of citrus aromas and light fruits. Pears, green apples and some gooseberries come to mind. In addition, there is a sweetness that I cannot yet define more precisely, possibly a bit artificial like chewing gum. A pleasant, not too intrusive smoke accompanies all of this and brings something salty, maritime with it. Slightly grassy-floral in the background. With a little time, the smoke will decrease a little. |

From the first impression on the palate, I'm a bit flabbergasted. The high alcohol content is barely noticeable and integrates very well. Pepper and oak spice create a slightly sharp mouthfeel. The aromas are usually even more intense than on the nose. Fruity, sweet and floral. Fresh hay with a little sourdough. Add the pears and berries. The smoke is a little more subdued and brings back salt and a little ashy moments. |

Medium-long finish, slight bitterness, lots of oak, vanilla and malt finish off. |
Delicious peat, half sweet, clean & sharp. Godd balance. Kind of Grappa on steroids. Takes water very well, becomes rounder then. Reminds me sometimes of a Ardbeg 10, but has it`s own character.
A particular Connemara, not peaty it seems to me, but quite complex and with well integrated alcohol.
Despite the small reservations, it's a great whiskey, the best Irish we've ever drank. Whoever sits in Islay style will surely not rush when he tastes it. Direct comparison with Connemara Peated speaks for the strength of the drum even though Peated itself tastes good enough for me, and it has received 83 points, here is all the more excited, which is great in direct comparison, the first shot of memory came to me roughly on the same, then I was very surprised at the grader. It has turned out that direct comparison tests are invaluable for scoring, memory can be quite misleading.
I was really looking forward to this whiskey! A pleasant and straightforward but also unusual smoky whiskey with an interesting industrial oily character. An unusual whiskey!
The color - if you want to talk about color at all - is a very pale honey gold. This is a malt with a very special smokiness that I have only encountered at a distillery so far. Although this smoke is not quite the mainstream, I like it quite well. Especially complex is not this drop. I'm typing on the NAS or the 12 year old Connemara. (83/100)
straw color, discreet nose a little alcoholic, slightly peaty (not peaty), plum, pear. Better on the palate, quite powerful, a little iodine and pepper, ripe fruit, sweet cake (nougatine?). Missing a little length. Not bad but the peat advertised is strangely absent, a bottle opened for a long time?
mild, lots of cereal and smoke, lemon, a bit young, fresh, very "cold", spicy grain, dark bread, caraway fennel anise tea, Jagermeister ... I do not know what to think of it, certainly not bad

Sweet nose, plum and wood, made green. Mouth a bit bitter well below normal Connemara! The middle brings a wave of burnt rubber. Final short and bitter. But where is the peat? Oxidation problem? Rear-olfaction stable.
At first I thought of a possible dilution with water, but I discarded that after the first sip, because I found the whole character just right. The smoky sweetness tastes an hour later.
It seems that we should expect more peat in this Irish whiskey. There, clearly, she is light. On the other hand, the bitterness is a little too present.
Smoke, fruit and salt. I think that is a good choice if you love Irish whiskey but... Now the price is too high. If you pay 80$ it's ok but I pay 180$ and in my opinion this price is too high for this bottle. At the same price there are many better bottles
