Вкус лёгкий и сладкий: мёд, ирис, сироп, жёлтые фрукты, перец, шелковистая маслянистая текстура; послевкусие средней длины, тёплое, с мёдом, фруктами, дубом и лёгкой солоноватостью. Хвалят гармоничный, свежий и питкий характер, шелковистость, раскрытие с каплей воды; критикуют избыток дуба и упрощение во вкусе на фоне более сильного аромата, нехватку сложности и завышенную цену (~115–120 €). Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток стабильно в диапазоне 84–88 и отмечают нетипичность: это более мейнстримный, гладкий Tobermory без фирменной «грязноватой» минерально-кожаной характерности, с лучшим ароматом и более простым вкусом с перебором дуба. Rather easy drinkable and good but not a very typical Tobermory, definitely more mainstream

a bright yellow, new barrels? First wet hay, Meadow, but also fruit. Especially apricot. Some honey, bananas. The aroma looks young and fresh. Really good! Pretty clear and straight forward. Apple with vanilla, later also pear. Very round in the mouth. A bit stale in the finish at the beginning, but gets much better after the 3rd sip. 81-85 – Wow, really good one

A pleasant floral whisky with a strong woody influence on the palate, the aroma is the best here - very varied and harmoniously composed, the taste / finish with some excess of oak looks much simpler.

Soft and indulgent vanilla, egg flan, candied citrus, exotic fruits, pineapple, papaya, almond brioche, lemon tart, a hint of minerality, gypsum, limestone, quartz. Melted butter, toast dipped in sugared milk, Aix calissons. Sunflower oil. On the palate, honey mixed with rose water, almond milk, coconut ball. Almost non-existent spices. Very long finish, controlled from start to finish, shortbread biscuits. Earthy notes, fruit cake, yellow plums, candied bananas. Beaten egg whites. Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, often available from independent bottlers, often sherry-heavy - or very popular in the peaty, smoky version as Ledaig. This is an 18 year old distillery bottling from the ex-bourbon cask, the color is correspondingly straw yellow. And the price for the bottle is around €120 in autumn 2021. Blind tasting Nose: Fresh, fruity. Tangy limes. Vanilla. Some salt and coastal flair. Some menthol. Freshly mown meadow. Classic ex-bourbon barrel nose. Smells kind of Irish. Mouth: Strong attack. Becomes a little sweeter. Strong malt flavors. Lemon lollipop. Oak is definitely involved, but still seems rather lively. Finish: Relatively short finish. Becomes a little spicier towards the end. Butter cookies with lemon icing. But it's still not really remembered. Conclusion: Standard Sipper. Okay, but it doesn't blow me away.

Not very complex, but tasty if you like light fruits. Nice influence from the bourbon barrel. But the complexity is missing Maybe the Tobermory influence is missing. If it were cheaper (maybe a maximum of 90 €), then there would be a buy recommendation.
Нос 85 Lots of honey and vanilla. Some alcohol. Some lemon cheesecake. Light fruits, especially honeydew melon. A minimal sea note can be seen. Especially pineapple (reminds me of Haribo).
Вкус 85 Pineapple and the bright fruits come through. Some marzipan.
Финиш 82 Sweet and a little salty. The pineapple is there too. Then becomes dry.

I have explored the peat side of Tobermory distillery during the last 2 years. Now it is time to do the same with the non-peated expressions from the guys from Mull.
Нос 89 A candy store in a bottle. Or should I say tropical fruitiness from Mull? Whatever; it is what it is. The bourbon cask does its job. This reminds me of the fruity side of Benrinnes and maybe Inchmurrin. Same trick; same excellent result. Vanilla all over the place.
Вкус 87 Things turn to musty and dusty. Coastal flavors, initially sweetness/fruitiness again, but it is immediately superseded by mild spices
Финиш 86 Long finish with long lasting spiciness. Pretty dry finish. In the far end touches of vanilla return. Conclusion: pretty good, but the price is way too high. In case the fruitiness had stayed more up front in the taste and finish, this would have been a stunning dram. At least imho.

Delicious Tobermory. I like the pure bourbon cask maturations from those with a bit of age. The UA at that age, for example, I think it's better. In terms of price, I am a tick, even if I think the PLV is better here than the 18 Grant that I tasted before. The 3% more make a difference. Nice drink!
Нос 88 Nice cereal on the nose. Vanilla, delicate wood and a bit of earth. With time and hand warmth, unmistakable Tobermory. The 18 years are very harmonious without being boring. I like it.
Вкус 88 Compared to the recently tried Grant 18, this one has more ommmph. The 46.3 percent are good for the malt. Perfect drinking strength. Aromatic continuation of the nose. Bananas, vanilla, grain and wood.
Финиш 86 Long finish and here again marked by the grain notes. On the other hand, he's a little bit too bitter for me.

Delicious! Not totally complex, but I could drink this whisky very regularly, it's just very pleasant.
Нос 88 Sour apple, lemon, mineral, sweet pineapple. Something reminds me of the smell of a fair that is in the air when you walk past the candy stalls, maybe something like candied nuts.

Clean and elegant, with soft aromas of vanilla an pineapple. Nice experience, even if I would have expected something more from my first 18 y.o. from one of my favorite distilleries. Lacking a bit of character, but the overall feeling has been positive nonetheless.

tasting 2024 3/26 Nose- Powdery, stone fruit, pear first, apple later, acid pineapple-like feel, corn syrup, barley sweet. It's just a typical bourbon cask smell. Nothing stands out. Personally, I thought a lot about balveine 12 single barrel At first, it felt a little like corn syrup, and it felt like the sweetness of barley, but over time, it became more like fruit. Taste. - Apple, barley, honey water, fruit, stone fruits, It's bright in general. It's amazing that the smell is stronger than you think, but it doesn't taste good. Unusually, the powdery feel is quite restrained. It's like fruit honey water. Finish- Bright flowers. Some barley scent. Short but not bad. It feels like fruit essence are passing by after scanning them.

The best among ex bourbon whiskies. Mega complex, full bodied great 18 y.o. expression. Limited release , grab it if it still available.
