В аромате отмечают выраженный характер pot still: тропические фрукты (манго, папайя, маракуйя, ананас), жёлтые яблоки и груши, обилие ванили и ириса, мёд, марципан, орехи и набор пряностей — корица, мускатный орех, кардамон, — с редкими нотами свежего дерева, воска и лёгкого хереса. Во вкусе — сладкое кремовое тело, тропические фрукты и мармелад, ваниль, крем-брюле, яблоки и груши, пряная перечная искра и дубовая горчинка; некоторым мешает лёгкий налёт растворителя или мебельной политуры. Послевкусие обычно долгое, плотное и фруктово-пряное, постепенно подсыхающее, хотя часть дегустаторов находит его короче ожидаемого. Наиболее опытные ставят выше всего, сравнивая напиток с Redbreast 21 и старыми ирландцами из хересных бочек и отмечая отличную интеграцию 55–56% спирта; один такой автор, напротив, снизил оценку из-за пробивающегося алкоголя и доминирующей в послевкусии пряности. У рядовых ревьюеров разброс шире: часть восторгается (сравнения с Redbreast 12 CS, оценки до 91–95), но многие подчёркивают неоправданно высокую цену, умеренную для возраста и крепости сложность и «магазинную» заурядность. При этом основная масса оценок тесно сгруппирована около 86–90, так что при расхождении в трактовках итоговый консенсус довольно устойчив.

Grandiose Irishman! Jameson has long been known for always filling his whiskeys with 40%. The mass market wanted to be served. Now they have the daring experiment to fill their 18yo with 55.3% - and how fantastic the result has turned out. Since one can only wish that he can keep himself on the market for a long time and pioneer for one or the other further high-percentage Jameson is.
Нос 91 A full and "thick" nose with a clear single pot still character. Full load of spice rack with marjoram, tarragon leaves, chervil, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom and a dash of nutmeg. However, the spices, as intense as they are in the nose, do not dominate, but they are more a companion to the tropical fruit notes that result from mango, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple and guava. The longer you go, the stronger this flavor potion becomes. Comparisons with the older edition of the Redbreast 21 are literally on the rise. Honey, marzipan bread and fresh yeast dough are added. Just look at the label again: Yeah, there's really Jameson on it.
Вкус 90 The very good first impression from the nose continues on the tongue unbroken. After a strong-spicy onset, the tropical fruits first show up, now with a slight Tropi Frutti gummy bear note. Freshly beaten wood, bourbon vanilla ice cream, powdered with cinnamon, cardamom, tarragon, nutmeg and white pepper. What a mix. A creamy, fat whiskey. A touch, really just a touch of furniture polish. The wood stays fresh, the fruits sweet, the spices: spicy. And that's pretty long.
Финиш 91 Long and still thick. The great fruit-spice combo will last forever - and it does not take much effort to taste it, because it is everywhere in the mouth, clad it formally, has the tongue firmly under control.

already pretty yummy full-bodied stuffed fabric that reminds me of the delicate Irish influences very much to a 12-15yo SMWS VO Finish Highlanders - which usually cost half

Typical Irish nose. Very pleasant and stimulating. But then the alcohol comes through. The spiciness dominates in the finish. A pity. 71-80 – Fine, like to drink by time

Really fruity, a bit estery (more so with water), butterscotch, waxy, oily, classic pot still Irish whiskey. I like it more than the highly rated 15yr millennium edition.
Нос 87 Roasted almonds, nutmeg, loads of butterscotch. A bit spicy. Waxy pears (yellow and green), apples, kiwis, fresh oak, tobacco. Subtle underlying oloroso.
Вкус 89 It arrives very sweet and fruity. Lots of vanilla, butterscotch, apples, white grapes, and melons. Mellow and fruity with a little spice and oak. Coconut and subtle banana add a slight exotic side. Slightly estery.
Финиш 90 Mellow oiliness, cooked apples and grapes, butterscotch. It then gets a bit estery, with some banana and a touch of acetone. A little tree resin, pear, and fresh kiwi. Beeswax and an almost honeydew note. Very fresh and enjoyable. Even more balanced and fruity with water - very enjoyable.

Нос 88 alcoholic and slightly pungent, the idea is burnt sugar. Hmm, there has to be some water: With H2O: vanilla, baking spices, light fruits, slightly tart oak but also a bit of old, dry oak, fresh apples. The vanilla note intensifies, a hint of tropical fruits and gummy bears. 87-88

Нос 88 A lot of caramel honey sweetness, the bright pointed fruits fly away quickly and it remains - for an Irishman - a comparatively heavy width with a lot of sweetness, while being round and balanced, but also not mega complex for the age and the barrel strength. Nevertheless, there is still banana in the rear and something nutty.
Вкус 87 Also round, a little more alcohol, but for 56% good, super sweet, malty grain, slightly salty and astringent.
Финиш 87 Dry in the finish. Very solid.

I was excited. Can he beat the old 18? Not quite. The 18 - he from before is even better for me.
Нос 93 Grainy, with cinnamon and nutmeg, honey and Vanilla. Also some coffee and caramel.
Вкус 91 Very sweet like oat biscuits but without chocolate. Honey, some peppermint, peppery tingling and also some coffee.
Финиш 86 Honey, caramel, peppermint, slightly bittersweet.

sweet, a lot of vanilla and honey, some nice oaky influence as well, adds some spices and levels out the sweetness quite perfeclty. reminds me of aged bourbons. fine long finish. fine dram!

In terms of sherry flavors, it is on par with some Irish whiskeys in sherry barrels from the 1970s. Very nice. A good glass of Irish whiskey.

Quite a nice balanced Irish blend. It surprised with a balanced profile between overripe fruit and sour young fruit. In between there is a bit of a tropical banana mango profile. However, it still reminds me of the taste of Swedish drops with honey.

Amazing whiskey with a good ABV! A lot of chocolate, burnt caramel, fruit... It reminds me a bit of Redbreast 12 CS. A wonderful drink, unfortunately at a very high price. Not long ago, it was in Slovakia for 120 euros, it was great...

Nose: Classic Irish pot still character. Reminds me a lot of Redbreast 12 CS. Spicy with toffee and vanilla. Baked banana and coconut crème. Intense and delicious nose. You do not feel the alcohol at all. With water, there is a bit more white fruits. Taste: Spice kick. Intense Crème Brule. Almond cake. Baked banana and apple crumble pie with a bit of cinnamon. Some Rhum Agricole notes (but I am not that good at rum). The alcohol is very well integrated. Finish: Nutty. Crumble from apple crumble pie, light mocha notes. Medium long. Not as long as you could have hoped for. However, very pleasant. Very delicious whiskey. But not 160 Euro delicious. Especially when I can get a similar experience in Redbreast 12 CS for a much lower price.

On the nose bit astringent. Oloroso casks come forward. Smells of sweat, I've never had it before! With water, it get's salty and lighter but the astringent note gets stronger. On the palate, dark chocolate, caramel, honey, after eight chocolates, dried apricots, carobs. With water the spice comes forward with raisins and plums and coca cola notes. The finish is spicy, dry, raisins and long. With water, the chocolate notes dominate.
