Лёгкий, фруктовый Highland Park первого бурбонного налива, почти без торфа и без хереса; опытные оценивают тепло (85–89), но многих смущает несоответствие «мощному» названию и суховато-горькое послевкусие.

В аромате свежий и яркий профиль: лимонные леденцы, мёд, ваниль, жёлтые и тропические фрукты — ананас, персик, абрикос, манго, банан — с цветочными нотами и лишь глубоко спрятанным намёком на дым. Вкус сладкий на светлых фруктах, маслянистый и плотный, с ранней перечной пряностью; ближе к середине проступает дуб, придавая сухость и лёгкую танинную горечь. Послевкусие средней длины, фруктово-медовое, с пряным теплом и мимолётным дымком, но, по мнению нескольких дегустаторов, слишком сухое и горьковатое, чтобы уравновесить сладость. Хвалят за питкость, свежесть и нетипичную для Highland Park лёгкость без торфа и хереса; критикуют за приторность и цветочность бурбонной бочки первого налива, простоватость («лимонадный» оттенок) и завышенную цену. Опытные ревьюеры настроены благожелательно и ставят 85–89, отмечая, впрочем, что название «Full Volume» и разлив в 47,2% обманывают ожидание бочковой крепости. Основное расхождение проходит не по линии опыта, а по вкусовым предпочтениям: те, кто любит Highland Park «темнее, прянее и с хересом», ставят ниже (84), находя профиль слащавым и лишённым фирменного характера; в остальном оценки согласованы и держатся тесной группой вокруг 86–87.

With a name like "Full Volume" I anticipated a cask strenght bottling, but 47,2% feels very right for this. It's the same age but less than half the price of "The Light". That one is 52,9%, so you get less alc strenght, but double the volume of a better whisky for the same money. "Full Volume" may not be such a bad name after all ;-)
Нос 90 It's HP, but rather more fresh and bright. Honey sweet lemon drops. Peach and pineapple juice. Hint of vanilla and deep down a little smoke.
Вкус 88 Sweet on yellow and white fruit. Peppery spice from the get go. Half way the oak takes over and it gets more dry and a bit tannic bitterness.
Финиш 88 Good length with a nice warmth of spice. In my opinion it's a little bit too dry/bitter to be in tune with it's sweetness. None the less, a pleasant whisky.

Нос 87 Fresh and fruity with banana split, pineapple, peach and apricots. Floral notes. Lots of vanilla and honey.
Вкус 87 Pineapple, lemon, cut flowers, hay, malt. Pleasant oak, fine smoke, a bit mineral.
Финиш 86 Medium length, fruity, vanilla, honey, toffee, pleasant oak, spices

Not a typical HP in my opinion, for it lacks this slight peaty influence and smoky notes. This one is lighter, fruitier, and smooth. I really like this one, friendly and very drinkable, but certainly not dull or pale. After this conclusion, I like to add that I think the name Full Volume is a quite strange one, for that suggest a pretty rough/tough whisky, which isn't the case at all. But pleasant for sure.
Нос 87 Light, fruity, by far not that peaty or dirty like an 18yo for example. Yellow fruit, pineapple, mango. Some vanillacake sweetness as well. And some vegetal notes.
Вкус 87 Very smooth, only a litle tingling feeling on the tongue. Yellow fruit again, and some peach. No trace of peat, blind I never would have thought of a HP. Very oily, thick.
Финиш 86 Still smooth, fruity, peach, honey, a little whiff of smoke enters now. Middle long.

I like this one a lot and I'd almost give it an extra point for the Spinal Tap reference on the box. Just a pity that an edition with this name isn't bottled at cask strength.

Interesting, unusual HP flavors without sherry with a massive oak and spices. Hard to scoring, must be retaste. 86/87.
Нос 86 Tropical fruits, orange peel, vanilla and cereal. Touch of peat, tobacco and antique leather.
Вкус 87 Sweet, creamy, oily start. Honey, vanilla, malt and fruits. Then big oak, pepper and herbals.
Финиш 86 Medium length, fruity, spicy. Mild smoke.

Objectively a well-made OB, but for me the first-fill bourbon influence is too saccharine and flowery. The finish in particular borders on sickly-sweet. Not sure I need pineapple aroma in my Highland Park, either. Guess I like my HP's darker and spicier, and yes: sherried. Lovely wood smoke in here, though.
