Портовый финиш поверх Linkwood: спелые красные ягоды, херес-подобная сладость креплёного вина, табак и осенний лес. Мнения дружные (86–90) — хвалят гладкость и элегантность, но отмечают, что порто перекрывает характер винокурни.

В аромате — ясный, интенсивный ягодный ансамбль: клубника, малина, чёрная смородина и клюква, поверх спелого банана, абрикоса и джема, с трубочным табаком, замшевой кожей, хвоей и сладостью креплёного портвейна; у самых опытных проступают и более тёмные тона — слива-тёрн, вереск, лесная подстилка, папоротник, нить угля. Вкус гладкий, шелковистый и сложный: красные фрукты (гранат, вишня, сочный красный виноград, клубника будто в игристом) сплетаются с лакированным деревом и дубом, пряности насыщены, но не резки; послевкусие долгое, сладко-фруктовое, слегка согревающее и чуть солёное с винными акцентами, уводящее обратно в осенний лес с каштанами и влажной землёй.
Хвалят прежде всего цельность и питкость, красивую интеграцию спирта и благородство портового финиша; критикуют лёгкую мыловатость и царапающую нёбо ноту, а также высокую цену за 15 лет. Оценки крайне согласованы (86–90), явных расхождений нет: и опытные, и остальные сходятся на качестве, но именно опытные ревьюеры чётче формулируют главный упрёк — порто, при всей уместности, стирает фирменный фруктовый профиль винокурни, которого хотелось бы больше.

Classic profile of the Port finish, damson, tobacco, lingonberries, a thread of charcoal, heather soil, forest undergrowth, ferns, a few acorns and lianas, but this time it is softer, rounder, on the raspberry jelly, drops of honey and nuts. Very beautiful palate, smooth and silky, complex, the red fruits combine with a beautiful woodiness, varnished mahogany, Armenian paper, a bunch of white grapes. The spices are rich without being too intense. Strong, long finish, back in the forest, I can almost hear the twigs cracking under my feet. Chestnuts, black and damp earth, autumn leaves. Revelation. Sweet, strongly fruity, delicate in aroma and taste. Alcohol is beautifully integrated into the whole, it does not disturb, it even emphasizes the entire resource of this whisky. Whisky will be my icon for special guests

Elegant orange, reddish hue. Strawberry, ripe banana, raspberry jam, some apricots and sweet wine on the nose. The port pipe shines through! Palate: Repeating the nose, with fortified wine sweetness and berries. Short, warming finish.

An easy no-brainer, though the port influence is noticeable. Too expensive for me, though, for only 15 years.

Tried this one in March '23 at The Village whisky fair in Nuremberg on the recommendation of Antony. Lovely colour, reminded me of a glass of rosé in the evening sun.

An exclusive great stuff! House of McCallum has gigantic barrels. This port wine finish is noble. Price is okay, but it's okay for a bottle split.
