20 21 22 21 84 Tasty, powerful, but too dry for me, sorry...I think this is a good young winter dram!
So Laphroaigish, with beautiful drips of vanilla and pastry cream, mille-feuille, a very smoky, metallic and stony peat, very recognizable from the distillery, but isn't there also a touch of Caol Ila? With an iodized, marinated, seaweedy, foamy and salty side? Perfect balance, superb marriage. On the palate, it's very soft, it's surprising, after such a radical nose. Gourmet, silky, velvety, it flows easily. A very rich vanilla and very ripe white plums, banana and honey. On the finish, a certain violence, it's peppery, clove-like, very intense and robust. And then long, dizzying. With lots of seafood, and a touch of salt. Well done! I think this one is just perfect. Priority is given to Laphroaig, but Caol Ila also plays its part. https://ilikesky2020.blogspot.com/2023/06/compass-box-peat-monster-cask-strength.html

A very decent Blended Malt, expressive, smoky, with lots of sweetness, pleasant bitterness and fruit in the form of apples. After adding water it becomes even more drinkable. Smoother, creamier and more delicate, and at the same time it loses nothing of the Islay character. Here I can add 1 point. Overall a great whisky on the Daily Dram.
