В аромате — сушёные фрукты, изюм, инжир, тёмный шоколад, перегной и солодовые тона, местами ваниль, мята, крыжовник и почти ликёрная фруктовая сладость, напоминающая жевательный мармелад; хересное влияние ощутимо, но не подавляет спирт. Во вкусе напиток крепкий и маслянистый, с лёгкой горчинкой и пряностью на языке, читается винная бочка; в послевкусии средней-долгой длины возвращаются изюм, инжир и херес, горечь уходит, проступают дуб и ваниль. Хвалят прежде всего гармонию дистиллята и бочки, зрелость, насыщенный янтарно-медный цвет и сочную фруктовость.
Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток стабильно высоко (86–90), подчёркивая тонкий баланс и сложность, хотя один отмечает, что он немного уступает предыдущему 25-летнему релизу. Среди остальных согласованность ниже: часть ставит 88–91 и говорит о безупречном балансе бочковых ароматов, тогда как критики опускаются к 84–85, указывая на нехватку сложности и цельности, тягучую суховатую структуру и завышенность высоких оценок; один продегустировал вслепую и принял его за хересный Speyside, но признал приятным. Отдельно упоминают высокую цену (свыше 300 €) как минус. Общий разброс умеренный при явном смещении к положительным отзывам.

Nice color, thick, oily streaks on the glass. He looks surprisingly young soft woody notes, a slight sweetness. Some vanilla, mint, gooseberries, wood glue. Strong in the mouth. I think I can taste the wine barrel now. Not bitter, not tart, beautifully balanced and complex. A sweetness hovers over everything, which is reminiscent of fruit gum. Very nice!

A very tasty laddie, although it falls a little short compared to the previous 25-year-old, but that's at a very high level.

It was as if I looked into a cellar in which the grape harvest was stored and felt the sour tones of grape leaves and the sweetness of ripe berries and the fermentation from berries already spoiled, suppressed.
The distillate and the barrel harmonize very well here. The sherry influence is noticeable, but not overwhelming. It's not a stunner, but rather has a sublime and harmonious feel. 86-90 – Wow, really good one, needs a bottle

Quite a stringy part, some will even hate it because it leaves very little whisky, I definitely do not understand the very high ratings, but it is completely lacking in complexity, but it has something delicious in the juicy fruit.

I have no idea how much Bruichladdich is still aromatically in there, but these barrel aromas are so perfectly balanced. It's simply a pleasure.

I tasted this as a completely blind sample, no clues were given, so take this for what it's worth in terms of my wobbly detective skills on cask and distillery location: Initially I thought this was a Glenrothes but it seems like a batch of a Speyside. It seems Glenfarclas, perhaps it is an a'bunadh or Tamdu. A nice sherried dram. I don't know Bruichladdich well, but as you can see, I was pretty fooled. However, even though my score is low, I found it enjoyable. Having it revealed later, I am not going to change my score.

Could also be a liqueur, at least in the nose, as fruity-sweet and round as it is. It gets a little spicy on the tongue and, despite its complexity, it lacks that certain something.
