Сливочный, фруктово-пряный pot still с умеренным влиянием портвейнового бочонка; узнаваемый Redbreast, который хвалят за аромат, но упрекают в тонковатом теле, молодоватости и слабом вкладе портвейна. Оценки согласованы (в основном 84–88).

В аромате доминируют сладкие и фруктовые ноты — сливовый кекс, вишня, черника, малина, земляника — вместе с кремовой ванилью, какао, миндалём, марципаном и характерными pot still пряностями (кервель, эстрагон, душистый перец, корица, гвоздика); аромат считают сильнейшей стороной. Вкус сливочный, мягкий и заметно сладкий, с плодами (сливы, вишня, красный виноград, тропические оттенки), шоколадом, орехами, дубовой пряностью и мёдом. Послевкусие средней длины, слегка сухое, с прохладным ментолом или мятой, шоколадом и угасающей фруктовостью. Опытные ревьюеры и остальные сходятся в главном: влияние портвейнового бочонка проявляется слабо и лишь к концу, а само тело кажется тонковатым, из-за чего вкус и послевкусие уступают аромату. Часть авторов отмечает молодоватость, музейно-затхлую сладость в аромате и горьковатые либо избыточно дубово-пряные ноты к финалу, а также ощущение несбалансированности; кому-то мешает вездесущий бурбонно-солодовый pot still характер, перекрывающий остальное. При этом многие хвалят полнотелость, узнаваемость стиля и сочетание шоколадных и тропических тонов, а некоторые считают это лучшей из «иберийских» версий именно за сдержанность бочонка. Разброс оценок невелик (преимущественно 84–88), расхождения касаются не качества, а того, оправдывает ли портвейн ценовую надбавку над Redbreast 12.

Redbreast has always been able to score points with its nose, including here. However, for a straight through, the Tawny Port lacks a bit of body and a more pronounced finish.
Нос 89 Starts straight away with clear notes of plum cake, cherries and blueberries and comes with a good portion of pot still spices right from the start in the form of chervil, tarragon and allspice. After some time in the glass, the aromas become more subtle and what was initially noticeable next to each other is now firmly interwoven.
Вкус 87 An unusually sweet start for a Redbreast, the Tawny Port cask obviously comes through well here. Strawberries, cherries, grapes, plums - the fruit notes spread quite widely on the tongue. Pot still spices, but not as differentiated as on the nose. Chocolate cake, almonds, marzipan, caramel, forest honey.
Финиш 86 The spicy note, which is no longer very pronounced on the tongue, is no longer found in the finish, but there is some fresh menthol, which makes the fruit notes, which fade away quite quickly, seem floating and fragile.

Нос 86 Very sweet, rich, and creamy, with oodles of vanillin sugar, raspberry custard, a nice berry-fruitiness and some soft pot-still spices.
Вкус 87 Quintessentially Redbreast; I would recognize this blind. So creamy, toeing the line between marzipan and fruit compote. The Port really only makes its presence felt toward the back end.
Финиш 85 Fruity-spicy and softly musty, with a spot of cereal dryness in the aftertaste.

Overall, a good pot still whiskey with good cask influence; unfortunately, the port cask doesn't contribute its best qualities to the overall impression. It has a musty sweetness on the nose and rather bitter notes on the finish. Overall, it seems somewhat unbalanced and youthful, but it's still a good whiskey overall; however, I would prefer other Redbreast bottlings.

A really great bottling. This combination of chocolatey and tropical flavors is really great.
Нос 88 Great nose! Caramel, vanilla, candied lemons, honeydew melon, cocktail cherries, lemon balm, oak, honey.
Вкус 89 Slightly sparkling, soft, smooth, full and creamy. Caramel, tropical fruit cream, chocolate mousse, almonds, oak spice.
Финиш 86 Medium-long finish, slightly dry. Caramel, hazelnut cream, lychee, oak.

Another delicious Redbreast. If you like Irish whiskey, you'll probably like this one. It has everything you expect from a Redbreast with maybe a few extras.

I notice once again that I don't really warm to Redbreast. This bourbon-like pot still note is omnipresent and leaves no room for other flavors for me. With more air in the sample it becomes more pleasant and fruity, but it's not my taste.
Нос 87 very sweet and malty, bourbon notes of fresh wood, pot still spice, this note is good and totally typical Redbreast but where is the port?, the sweetness becomes more chocolatey and creamy, with more air a few berries/strawberries finally appear
Вкус 86 soft, fruity, then a nice fruit appears, some peach, some berries, but then the pot still wort comes through again and takes over, I'm not quite sure whether it's the pot still wort or whether some youth comes through here, it burns light
Финиш 85 the finish is spicy, fruity, raspberries, a bit of peach, short to medium long, I have that feeling on my tongue again that I always get with Irish and which I don't like, it doesn't seem old

Shy on the nose but nice on the palate after it's been in the glass for a while. Straight from the bottle it's underwhelming. Compared to the love the Lustau and PX editions got in the tasting I had this at, I found myself at odds and thought that this one is the nicest of the Iberian ones since it doesn't beat you to death with the cask.

Нос 85 At the beginning the nose is clearly on the fruity side. Plum jam, cherries, strawberries and blueberries come together with a good dose of pot still seasoning in the form of marjoram, tarragon, thyme. A slightly creamy-sweet vanilla pudding, some almond brittle and a kind of nut-rum chocolate are mixed in. A light bourbon note of fresh wood, vanilla and citrus comes through tentatively in the background.
Вкус 84 Intense, fruity-sweet attack on the palate. Doesn't seem very powerful. There's a lot of wood, oak spice and spices, but they don't make it overpoweringly spicy. More of a slightly warming mouthfeel. Fruity plums, cherries and red grapes are included. I miss the exotic fruits a little. Add cocoa powder, nuts and some marzipan. The cocoa, marzipan and also some honey add a slight sweetness. The general mouthfeel is a bit thin, but not necessarily watery.

It's full-bodied and aromatic than you'd expect from non-age-statement whiskey. If you grab this bottle at RRP you won't regret buying it. The aroma and taste was in much better condition after about a month, compared to the neck-pour.

The aroma is completely unlike that of a 46-degree liquor; it is extremely full-bodied, intense, and heavy, which I really like. The taste is also layered but not overly refined. The spice and woody notes become too strong after chewing the liquor, and the finish is rather average. Overall, it's good; robin lovers should definitely give it a try.

Flavourful, but still rather young whiskey with less single pot still notes, than would expected. Surprisingly "dark" and with prominent wine notes.

Fruity, rich and creamy yet a bit shy in flavour. Oak spice, caramel, spicy, citrus oily, tart blackberries. The redbreast 12, is half the price of the port cask in our market. Not sure why this is as the are both equally good whiskies.
