Good, pleasant, solid, but not complex, and quite dry whisky! ok, it's quite good for drinking with friends, and thanks for that! Maybe it's just me who can't get used to the fact that Laphroaig can be so dry, what can you do, these are the times... 21 22 20 21 83
Friends of a brute Laphroaig: stay away. The Cáirdeas Warehouse 1 is finely chiseled, initially even soft on the tongue, but this should not be confused with weakness, because it has an aromatic intensity that some full-on-the-twelve bottlings lack. 1st-Fill Ex-Bourbon Casks + Laphroaig, that couldn't go wrong either.

Immediately maritime with a subtle peat smoke note at the beginning, in combination with tangerines and pineapple, vanilla crescents and seaweed. The smoke picks up a bit over time, but without leaving the absolute feel-good zone, so that it is still comparatively reserved for a Laphroaig, especially since the typical phenolic has not yet come through. Now comes quince jelly, some dried herbs, seaweed and damp boat planks. |

At first you might think it's a bit of a bore, as it initially feels soft and creamy on the tongue, but then it quickly takes things up a notch, packing in peat smoke, seaweed, pepper, quince jelly, peach chunks , vanilla and sweet rapeseed honey and completely lines the mouth. A few sticks of liquorice tumble afterwards, and dry wood, that was also missing. Only slightly phenolic on the tongue, but still 100% Laphroaig. |

You can taste it for a long time, the maritime impression intensifies again at the end, seaweed, salt and pepper, liquorice, tangerines, honey, vanilla biscuits, dried herbs. |
Very nice, plain Laphroaig. Pepper, ashy smokiness, plaster, some sweet touches. Very pleasant one for sure.

https://whiskylovingpianist.wordpress.com/2022/10/13/feis-ile-2022-laphroaig/ More and more we are seeing whiskies advertised on the legacy of the maturing cask[s] and previous contents. I got it when Decadent Drinks did it as a one-off with an 18yo Edradour matured in a particularly special ex-1963 Glenburgie refill hogshead [WLP], or Cadenhead’s with their Caroni cask-matured Miltonduff [WLP],… but first-fill [Beam-Suntory] Maker’s Mark cask?! See barleymania’s review for a far more positive perspective. Let’s come at this as objectively as I can. N: A friendly/warm soft/easy vanilla-butter bourbon-y nose plus many of Laphroaig’s typical trademark profile traits. T: Easy light-sweet salty medicinal arrival, one that travels with ease. Some semblance of form and weight too. F: More iodine,…. light bourbon, allium,… C: The most unlikely marmite dram. Whilst many raved about it, others poo-pooed it. I find it better than the standard 10 [which I tried recently WLP], and if you were just starting out on your journey and already loved Laphroaig, you’d be more than happy. In comparison to previous years, many peeps decided to pass on this year’s Cairdeas release, and indeed, a vast number of other Feis Ile bottling in 2022. Perhaps Feis Ile has hit a pay wall?
Beautiful Cairdeas, very good barrels were selected here

Interesting, with cucumbers and dust, smoke and engine oil. But I did not find the usual wide palette of Laphroaig.

A sweet smoky note on the nose, which becomes a bit ashy in the mouth and finish. 71-80 – Fine, like to drink by time

Very round Laphi, just has little that is special or characteristic.

Aroma Laphroaig smoke, maritime, quite sweet, vanilla taste Alcohol well integrated, creamy, nice clear smoke, maritime, sweetish, vanilla finish Medium length, smoke, maritime, sweetish
I like it very much, even if I perceive a slightly musty wood note that is slightly disturbing. But the nose is great. Christmas in July. I always find the Cairdeas a bit tamer than the 10 CS. So too, but still an intense whisky. I really like it.
Aged in first-filled Maker’s Mark Bourbon casks in Warehouse 1, with extra exposure to the elements.

Peaty, sweet and nutty with “medicinal” notes. Strong vanilla cake, fudge, heather-honey, golden syrup, walnuts and nutmeg. |

Almost quiet in the nose, considering peatiness and medicinal notes. Much fruitier than most other Laphroaigs I've tasted. Of course the typical smokiness is there but it's quite subdued initially. The finish is unmistakenly Laphroaig though. I like it, but personally wouldn't go over €100 for a bottle.
